Tears of laughter spewed forth.
Fingers gently touched the photo, pressing it tightly against the chest.
...
None of those invited by Leon Rivers for questioning had any possibility of being involved, even Jared Quinn couldn’t rember who had drugged him.
"Jared, you’ve always been so observant, how could you fall for sothing like this this ti?" Leon Rivers looked at him incredulously.
Jared Quinn rubbed his chin with a large hand, his gaze deepening. He usually had an excellent mory, but couldn’t recall any possibilities.
"Is there a drug that you can carry with you that makes you temporarily unaware of your actions?"
"No, unless you were already drugged from the start. But I’ve checked all the drinks at the scene, and there’s nothing wrong with any of them. Whoever did this is well-hidden, striking without anyone noticing."
"It must be Wendy Lynch, you n don’t even need to investigate further," Yulia O’Connell spoke up. "When that woman is in the mood, she doesn’t care whether he’s a cousin or a brother; like a man, she only thinks about how to get it."
Cole O’Connell lowered his head, his gaze falling on her delicate chin, and gently clasped it with three strong fingers. "You an when a woman is in the mood, she forgets her identity just like a man does, only wanting to get it? So what about you, little Jade?"
"That depends on what type of man he is and whether he’s worth going crazy for. Of course, with soone like Jared, it’s rare to find a woman who wouldn’t go crazy for him," Yulia O’Connell said, casting an appreciative look at Jared Quinn.
This gaze stirred Cole’s jealousy imnsely, and he tightened his grip on her fingers, using his other hand to turn her body, forcing her to look at him, with her back to the man she had just praised. "Don’t look at others like that ever again, you hear ? Whoever you look at, I’ll take him down."
"Then take him down first," Yulia O’Connell’s gaze pointed toward Jared Quinn.
Cole O’Connell: "...He doesn’t even see you, no need to take him down."
"Alright, alright, can you two please mind your image a bit?" Leon Rivers adjusted his suit, at least taking care of his own solitary bachelor image.
"I’m going to find Wendy Lynch," lody Thorne suddenly spoke up.
Leon Rivers: "...Sister-in-law, you’re not thinking of bringing a knife, are you?"
"You don’t use a butcher’s knife to kill a chicken, do you?" lody Thorne scoffed. "If it’s really as Yulia O’Connell said, then maybe I can provoke her a little, and who knows, it might have so unexpected results. You guys aren’t finding anything anyway, are you?"
Jared Quinn’s entire handso face was shrouded in pale blue smoke as he gently exhaled, actually forming other speculations in his mind.
lody Thorne used Jared Quinn’s old number to send Wendy Lynch a ssage, inviting her to et at a café.
"Let’s go, I’ll go with you," Yulia O’Connell instinctively wrapped her arm around lody’s shoulder. "My favorite drama is watching the wife confront the mistress."
lody Thorne: "..."
When they arrived, Wendy Lynch was already in the café. Her eyes, as she looked up, were as pitiful as a little white rabbit’s, shimring with such pitiable light. Her face instantly changed when seeing lody and Yulia, but she quickly suppressed it.
"Sister-in-law, why is it you?"
"Why can’t it be ?" lody Thorne tossed her bag onto the café chair. "Wendy Lynch, with this scandal, you’ve not only ruined the Lynch family’s reputation but also the Quinn family’s. Shouldn’t we have a talk?"
