This idea is neither good nor bad.
"I’m not using Mrs. Quinn. I just want her to know that Wendy Lynch is like a vampire to her. No matter how many people she has frad or to what extent she has been used, Wendy Lynch won’t let her go."
lody Thorne explained, "Besides this, we have no other way to catch that mastermind."
Jared Quinn was silent for a second, and then he hugged her tightly. "I’m sorry, lody."
He promised to protect her, but in the end, he faced an opponent he couldn’t deal with.
"If it were my mom doing this to you, I wouldn’t act either," lody Thorne looked up. "Let’s go downstairs to avoid arousing suspicion."
"Okay."
The two left the room. Mrs. Quinn, who had been anxiously waiting in the living room, approached as soon as she saw them coming out. "Jared, don’t listen to her nonsense. I didn’t do anything."
"Did I say you did anything?" A hint of disappointnt flashed in Jared Quinn’s dark eyes.
"No, you didn’t say anything?" Mrs. Quinn looked at lody Thorne, unsure of her intentions. Her phone kept vibrating in her pocket, with ssages from Wendy Lynch urging her.
Wendy said if she couldn’t handle lody Thorne, she should steal confidential docunts from Quinn Corporation. She wasn’t foolish; giving away those docunts would be like handing over Jared Quinn’s company.
This woman was delusional.
"I’ll go back to my room," Mrs. Quinn said, sowhat flustered, and headed upstairs.
Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman exchanged a look. They understood each other completely without saying a word. "Brother Jared, we’re heading back now."
"Jared, a call," the butler said.
Jared Quinn answered the phone. Whatever was said on the other end made his eyebrows furrow deeper. Finally, he glanced at lody Thorne and hung up.
"What happened?"
Just now, the way Jared Quinn looked at her, it seed sothing significant had happened.
"Nothing. Sila’s banquet is inviting us over to announce their new spokesperson," Jared Quinn’s eyes seed clouded with a deep fog.
"Hmm?" lody Thorne didn’t understand his aning. "Last ti, there was such a big incident at her banquet, and we still have to go?"
She wanted to avoid it, and the spokesperson had nothing to do with her.
"Go change into an evening dress. There might be unexpected surprises," Jared Quinn said, guiding her upstairs with his arm.
The woman he married after her family’s bankruptcy had a surprisingly stunning background.
Though lody Thorne didn’t want to go, she still chose a dress from a famous designer, one from Sila’s rival abroad.
Banquet.
As they entered, many people secretly glanced at them, especially since such a big incident hadn’t been resolved yet.
"Everyone, please remain quiet. This ti, Lady Sila has decided on a spokesperson. Let’s invite our famous designer, Sila, to make the announcent."
Sila took the stage, but she wasn’t alone. There was also a man, Howard Seymour, sitting in the center of the stage, looking at the woman he had searched for twenty years with perfect composure.
"Why is my dad here?" lody Thorne clasped her hands together, feeling a bit uneasy.
"Don’t worry." Jared Quinn enveloped her small hands with his large hand, a faint smile on his lips. He knew lody Thorne, always perceptive, might have realized sothing.
