The surrounding boos grew louder, and Ivy’s face turned uglier, staring at lody Thorne with a look that wished to expose her. "lody Thorne, say that again."
"Enough," Director Irving barked, cutting through the noise. What was supposed to be a great ti for casting had turned chaotic at this mont.
The crucial point was that the lead actress for his new film had been pre-decided to be Ivy, and most of the investors in this film were led by the Adler Family. He absolutely couldn’t let Ivy acquire a bad reputation at this ti; otherwise, the new film would surely be shelved.
"It’s just a few photos, you know? Look at the female stars in the entertainnt circle, which of them haven’t been envied or had their reputations tarnished with fake photos?"
As soon as Irving spoke, everyone fell silent, all understanding each other without words.
Ivy released lody Thorne and raised her eyebrows smugly. No matter what, the Adlers had the power, and whether those photos were real or fake, they’d be suppressed. She would still be the star of Irving’s new drama, the one who would beco hugely popular in the future.
"I thought I could give her a hard slap this ti," Jean Gage stood by lody Thorne’s side. "The Adler Family must have invested a lot of money, and even with a scandal before shooting, not even Director Irving could help them."
"This film was pre-decided," lody Thorne smiled slightly, "Even if the reputation is ruined, it doesn’t matter. No rush, take it slow."
In the studio’s audition room, Penny Lane announced all the roles that people would need to audition for tomorrow, except there were only two left, lody Thorne and Ivy. Both of their scripts scored a perfect hundred, so the roles would be assigned last.
"As you all know, we’re mostly here to let Director Irving see for himself how everyone’s acting skills are. Perhaps if your acting is good, when it cos to the real script, your role might be elevated, so you have to treat the roles you’ll be playing tomorrow seriously. Show off your acting skills and strive for better roles."
After Penny Lane finished speaking, she took out the final two spots. "These are for lody Thorne and Ivy. As everyone knows, Ivy has already gained so fa during her ti at the Aethelburg Academy, bringing quite a bit of luster to us, so the lead role is definitely hers."
Upon hearing this, a bunch of envious eyes were cast upon the stage, and Ivy proudly took the script from Penny Lane’s hand.
"This one is for lody Thorne." Penny Lane picked up another. "This is a role specially arranged for you by Director Irving."
lody Thorne walked up slowly, took the script from Penny Lane, glanced at it—less than a minor character...
Because the story Director Irving designed was an ancient costu drama testing acting skills, and the role she got was a woman about to die, disfigured, with less than a minute of screen ti.
Everyone saw the role in lody Thorne’s hands, and their previously low spirits were suddenly lifted. They couldn’t beat Ivy, but at least they could outshine lody Thorne.
She only had one minute of screen ti, while they each had at least three.
"Do either of you have any objections?" Penny Lane asked sternly.
Ivy glanced at lody Thorne with smugness, "No."
And lody Thorne rely kept a calm expression, her delicate and fair face even showing a trace of a smile, "No."
Standing together, the audience naturally compared the two. lody Thorne was wearing a white blouse paired with a nude tulle skirt, the waist cinched tightly, revealing her slender, exquisite calves, and the blouse’s neckline was opened two buttons, hinting at a bit of sex appeal.
