Sheryl Lancaster’s expression continually shifted. Three months ago, even though she was Jared Quinn’s nominal girlfriend, she thought that she was at least the only one in na. But she actually saw lody Thorne’s presence at the Quinn Family’s house.
She also heard the servants at the Quinn Family calling her "young madam," and lost control for a mont, brutally humiliating her, pushing her to the ground, grabbing her hair, and stepping on her fingers.
Now that lody Thorne had brought it up openly, Sheryl’s gentle and graceful image instantly plumted in front of Jared Quinn!
"No, no, Miss lody really loves to joke," Sheryl Lancaster laughed awkwardly twice, trying to brush off the matter as a joke.
Jared Quinn’s gaze fell on the delicate white finger lody Thorne had just used to hook his, and his big hand grasped it, massaging her finger, his eyes darkening, "Does it still hurt?"
The two simple words were like a stone thrown into lody Thorne’s heart, spreading ripples across the otherwise calm surface.
He had never cared whether she was in pain or not in the past, nor had he ever cared about her; to him, her existence was rely displeasing.
And now, the two words he never asked before, did it hurt? It really shook her heart a bit, and yet it was sowhat pathetic too.
When she was chasing after him, he never cared; when her heart had turned to ashes and she restarted everything, he now asked if she was hurt?
"Hurt, how could it not hurt!" lody Thorne looked directly into Jared Quinn’s eyes, a faint smile playing on her lips.
That indifferent expression made Jared Quinn’s deep eyes unfathomable, like a layer of ink spread over them.
"Mr. Geoffrey," Geoffrey Lancaster quickly stepped in to diffuse the situation, "the young ladies were just joking. Why don’t we discuss the cooperation between our two families next?"
"Yes, yes," Sheryl Lancaster chid in, "this cooperation will surely bring our two families closer together."
Two families closer? It was just her getting even closer to Jared Quinn!
lody Thorne wanted to withdraw her finger, but Jared Quinn tightened his grip, pulling her up with him, coldly saying, "Let’s end here for tonight. I have things to handle, excuse ."
"Mr. Jared, Mr. Jared," Hector Lancaster watched helplessly as Jared Quinn left with lody Thorne, angrily slamming the docunts he had just pulled out onto the table.
As a businessman, how could he not see that Jared Quinn had intentionally brought that woman along, and never intended to cooperate with The Lancaster Family in the first place?
"Dad, don’t worry, the cooperation won’t be lacking," Sheryl Lancaster withdrew her gaze darkly as she watched lody Thorne leave.
She needed to plan thoroughly.
The ballroom was still filled with people dancing passionately, but lody Thorne had already been led out of the hall by Jared Quinn.
"There’s no one here now, can you let go of ?" lody Thorne tried hard to pull her finger back, but even with all her strength, she couldn’t escape Jared Quinn’s grip.
She really disliked that feeling, as if he would always be her cage, a cage she couldn’t escape, and he controlled her life and death.
Jared Quinn suddenly stopped and turned around, catching lody Thorne off guard as she backed into sothing cold, with Jared Quinn now pressing against her.
His deep, enchanting phoenix eyes were now staring unblinkingly at her.
"What are you doing?" lody Thorne blinked, realizing sothing as her small face leaned forward, stopping just before a kiss, her delicate white finger flicking his chest.
