The staircases converged at an elegant landing on the second floor, frad by towering columns and a large painting.

It depicted Julius' face, his eyes looking down on everyone.

"Is that the previous owner?" Lariel inquired.

"Is he powerful?" she added, curiosity getting the best of her.
