Chapter 257: Continuous Level Ups

Crimson mist erupted from my back. My wings spread wide—burning with Essence—and with a powerful flap, I soared into the sky. The wind roared past my ears as I turned midair and locked onto the lower-leveled bear.

[Sama Bear – Level 123]

“Seismic Burst.”

Fire erupted from my feet and wings as I shot downward like a teor. I reappeared above the bear’s head in an instant, energy rippling off .

“Absolute Domain.”

A pulse of violet light burst from my chest. My domain expanded outward, cloaking the entire battlefield. The beasts froze for a brief second, sensing the shift—sensing the pressure.

I focused on the Level 123 bear.

“Freeze.”

My will crashed into it. The bear’s body locked up mid-movent, completely paralyzed under my domain’s command.

I gently placed my palm over its head.

“Explode.”

Essence surged from my hand, drilling into its skull like lightning through wet stone.

BOOM.

Its head detonated in a brutal spray of blood and bone, the sound echoing through the place like a drumbeat of war.

I flapped my wings hard and shot upward into the air once more, the wind howling around as I gained height.

Below , the ape—King Ragnor—had already recovered. He stood tall, his massive fra glowing with a dull brown light. Both of his arms were now encased in heavy gauntlets made of so kind of dark, tallic material. They pulsed with energy, dense and heavy.

The stronger bear—Level 170—let out a furious roar when it saw its companion’s headless corpse. Black smoke exploded from its body, swirling like a storm. It was activating its law—sothing twisted and thick, heavy with the stench of darkness.

Then it opened its jaws wide and roared again—this ti firing a concentrated black beam straight toward .

I hovered high above, wings spread, letting the updraft hold steady. My eyes narrowed on the incoming attack.

The beam tore through the air, crackling with destructive energy as it traveled through my Absolute Domain. It was fast—unnaturally fast—but my domain responded to my will instantly.

I lifted my right hand and pointed at it.

“Revert.”

The runes embedded in my domain shimred to life. Lines of violet light streaked across the air around , visible only to my eyes. They pulsed once, then surged toward the beam.

A glowing circle about two feet wide ford in front of . Complex runes twisted around its edge, shifting like clockwork gears.

The black beam hit the circle—and unraveled.

It was like watching ink dissolve into clear water. The destructive power lost its form, pulled apart by the domain. It broke down into raw Essence, stripped of intent and law.

A wave of fresh, purified Essence flooded the domain.

Without hesitation, I spread both my arms wide.

“Good. Let’s use it.”

The fresh Essence swirled to my call. From it, three massive spears began to form—each one several ters long, made entirely of tightly compressed Essence. They crackled with power, glowing a pale green.

I narrowed my eyes on the enemies below. With a thought, the spears began spinning, fast—so fast they created a sharp whine in the air.

“Go.”

With a deep whoosh, the spears launched, tearing through the sky toward the three beasts.

The King Ape let out a guttural bellow. With a snarl, it slamd both fists into the ground.

A thick tal wall erupted from the earth in front of it—solid, reinforced, and layered with veins of brown-gold light.

One of the spears collided with it.

BOOM!

The explosion rocked the area, sending dust and tal shards flying. Flas licked the edge of the blast, and I watched from above as the other two spears streaked toward their targets.

The Level 170 bear locked eyes on the incoming spear ant for it and let out a thunderous roar.

Thick black smoke coiled tighter around its body, condensing into a jagged armor-like shell across its back and shoulders. Its claws dug into the earth, bracing itself as it lifted both arms and crossed them in front of its chest.

The spear crashed into its smoke-covered form with a deafening boom.

The impact sent shockwaves rippling across the ground, kicking up dirt and tearing a gouge through the field.

The bear skidded back several ters, feet dragging trenches in the earth, but it held firm. The black smoke armor around its arms cracked violently, but didn’t shatter. The bear grunted, body trembling, but it stayed upright.

The second spear barreled toward the serpent—Black Mamba.

She hissed sharply and lunged to the side, trying to slither away. But the spear was too fast. It turned slightly mid-air, drawn by my will, and pierced straight through her thick midsection.

“SKREEEEE—!!”

A shriek of pain tore from her throat as the Essence-imbued spear drilled through her scales. Blood splattered into the air, thick and violet-green.

Her long body thrashed violently as she rolled and writhed, trying to pull the spear out.

But the runes in my domain held it all together.

I whispered, “Explode.”

The spear trembled, its glow intensifying—then detonated in a blinding flash.

BOOM!

The serpent’s midsection erupted. It didn’t even have ti to scream before its body split in half and collapsed, lifeless.

[Level 114 → Level 121]

A fresh surge of power flooded my body, new stats coursing through every cell. I grinned, eyes already locking onto the remaining beasts.

Ragnor roared in fury and broke into a wild sprint—his claws tearing through the ground before he suddenly launched into the air, straight at .

I tilted my head.

Was sothing wrong with this ape’s brain?

I was the one with wings. A single flap could take out of his trajectory.

But instead, I raised my hand. My staff materialized with a snap.

It pulsed with a violet hue as Essence flooded into it. The weight increased—so much so that my arms thickened with the sheer force surging through them. The air around it warped.

Just as the ape ca within range—

I brought the staff down and activated my skill.

“Blitz Hakai.”

BOOM!!

Essence and air compressed, then burst in a shockwave that slamd into the beast midair. Its body folded in on itself from the sheer impact before being hurled toward the ground like a teor.

BOOM!!

Another explosion followed as it hit the earth—carving a deep crater. Bits of flesh and bone scattered across the battlefield.

[Level 121 → Level 126]

Finally, I turned my head toward the last one—the bear.

Its massive fra shifted behind the shadows of the dark smoke surging out of its body, but I saw it clearly. Its eyes, glowing brown, locked with mine. For a mont, there was a flicker of sothing—awareness. Intelligence.

Then it turned and ran.

Its colossal body moved with surprising speed, crushing the undergrowth beneath its paws as it sprinted toward the hut. But it was pointless.

I was faster.

I raised my staff and pointed it at the beast. Light began to gather at the tip, spiraling into a condensed orb of pure, crackling energy.

“Run harder.”

The first beam fired.

It lanced forward, a thick pillar of compressed light that tore through the air and slamd into the bear’s hind leg.

BOOM!

Flesh and bone exploded, ripping its leg open and sending it tumbling forward with a heavy roar.

But I wasn’t done.

I fired again. And again.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

One beam tore through its shoulder, the next through its ribs, and the last one pierced its back and exploded inside. Each shot carved the bear apart like paper soaked in acid, chunks of its massive body disintegrating midair.

It tried to rise, let out a strangled, broken roar—but I was already there.

The fifth and final beam ford, larger than the rest, its glow warping the air around . I pointed the staff down at the twitching corpse, and whispered:

“Goodbye.”

The light exploded downward like a divine judgnt.

BOOOOM!!

The ground split open from the impact. The bear’s body was obliterated—reduced to scattered chunks of smoldering flesh and burning fur, none of which stayed whole for long.

Light Essence lingered in the air, sharp and radiant, as if rejecting the very existence of the creature.
