The two attendants stared at him for a heartbeat longer before their shock lted into wide smiles.

"You beca even more charming," the first attendant said, her eyes sparkling as she tilted her head to examine his face from another angle.

"Yes," the second added quickly, stepping closer without hesitation, "more than before. You were handso four years ago, but now... it feels different."

They both broke into soft laughter, the kind that carried warmth instead of mockery.

Cain blinked, unsure how to respond.

The first attendant suddenly leaned in and lightly tapped his nose with her finger.

"Boop," she said playfully.

The second gasped. "Ah, you did it first."

She followed without sha and tapped his nose as well, laughing. "Boop."

Cain froze, his mind blank for a second.

He did not pull away. He did not scold them. He simply allowed it.

They laughed again, their shoulders shaking, and the carriage filled with the sound of their joy.

"You look less gloomy," one of them said, brushing a stray strand of hair from his forehead. "It suits you better."

Cain, an Overgod who had crushed worlds beneath his will and commanded endless skies to kneel, suddenly found himself laughing.

It was not loud. It was not majestic.

It was simple.

A real laugh.

He covered his mouth slightly, surprised at himself.

Who does not know , he thought faintly, I rember everyone.

He rembered kings who trembled before him. He rembered ancient beings who offered him their loyalty in exchange for survival. He rembered mountains of magical treasures laid at his feet. Scrolls that could rewrite fate. Universes forged purely to entertain him for a thousand years.

When he ascended to Godhood, flattery beca a daily thing.

"You are supre."

"You are eternal."

"You are beyond all existence."

The praises were endless.

He received magical artifacts glowing with power. He received spells that could tear apart galaxies. He received entire realms crafted in his na.

But none of it made him feel anything.

He felt nothing.

The treasures were beautiful.

The scrolls were powerful.

The universes were grand.

Yet his heart remained empty.

And now, two attendants laughing and tapping his nose made him feel... flattered?

Why?

He frowned slightly, confused.

Why do I feel flattered just by a simple complint?

One of the attendants tilted her head and smiled softly.

"Of course it’s because we an it."

Cain froze.

Wait.

I did not say that out loud.

His eyes widened a little.

The second attendant giggled. "Even if you don’t say it, we can tell just by your face."

Cain paused.

He paused so long that the carriage wheels seed louder in his ears.

"You two..." he began slowly, then raised his voice without aning to. "You can read my mind?"

The two attendants stiffened.

Their laughter died.

They looked at each other in alarm.

"...We... we just—"

Before they could explain, Cain suddenly felt sothing inside his body.

A faint tremor.

Then a wave of familiar energy brushed against his senses.

He frowned.

"Hm?"

His thoughts tangled for a mont.

What just happened?

He blinked.

Why do I feel my residual blood mana all over my body?

A strange warmth lingered around his chest and temples, like a spell that had not fully settled.

Did I cast sothing?

He searched his mory.

No.

I do not rember casting a spell.

Across from him, the two attendants looked pale.

"What is happening?" one whispered.

"Can we really..." the other swallowed.

The first attendant forced herself to stay calm and leaned forward again.

"Cain," she said carefully, "what do you think of our master... of Madam Faith?"

She raised a hand quickly. "Do not say it out loud."

Cain stared at her.

Why are they asking this?

Still, he obeyed.

He closed his eyes for a second.

Faith Moonshade.

The mont her na ford in his mind, his heart felt heavy and warm at the sa ti.

He rembered her long black hair flowing down her back as she walked ahead of him in the estate corridors. The way the light caught on her pale skin. The quiet strength in her posture.

He rembered her voice when she called his na. Calm. Firm. Always steady.

He rembered the way she looked at him when others mocked him. There was no pity in her eyes. There was no disappointnt. There was only determination, as if she was silently promising that one day the world would see what she saw.

He rembered how beautiful she was when she walked across the grand hall, her dress trailing behind her like dark water.

He rembered how beautiful she was when she spoke to him in private, her tone softer, her eyes warr.

He rembered how beautiful she was when she looked at him with quiet worry after hearing he had been insulted again.

Her face in the moonlight.

Her hands pressing coins into his palm.

Her anger when Cornelia spoke harshly.

Her cold glare when Ivira ignored him.

He rembered how she stood between him and the elders once, her voice low but unwavering.

"He is my husband."

That mory alone made his chest tighten.

She was beautiful when she was strong.

She was beautiful when she was angry.

She was beautiful when she was silent.

She was beautiful when she smiled, which she did not often, but when she did, it felt like the world softened.

Across from him, the two attendants gasped quietly.

They heard everything.

Every word.

Every image.

They looked at each other with wide eyes.

He really...

They quickly covered their mouths to stop themselves from squealing.

Cain opened his eyes slowly.

Why are they reacting like that?

Before he could question it further, one attendant leaned forward again.

"What about Lady Cornelia and Lady Ivira?" she asked carefully. "Why did you keep chasing them and not focus on Madam Faith?"

Cain blinked.

What are they thinking now?

Why are they asking this?

He leaned back slightly and fell into thought.

In his mortal life, before he beca an Overgod, why did he keep chasing Cornelia?

Or Ivira?

He tried to rember his younger self.

"They looked good," he thought at first. "But that was not enough."

Then a mory surfaced.

Faith standing before him one evening, her hands folded behind her back.

"If only you could make my sisters get along with you so well," she had said softly, "I would be very happy."

Her voice was not commanding.

It was hopeful.

That was it.

His eyes widened slightly.

The reason I chased them... was not because I liked them.

It was because I promised her.

I wanted to make her happy.

I wanted her sisters to accept so she would not feel caught between us.

The two attendants suddenly made a high, happy sound.

"Ahhh!"

They slapped his shoulder lightly.

"You fool!" one cried, tears forming in her eyes.

The other began wiping her face. "You absolute fool!"

Cain stared at them. "Why are you crying now?"

They sniffed loudly.

"Madam Faith was unhappy," one said through tears. "She was so unhappy seeing you chase her sisters all the ti."

"She asked you many tis to leave the Moonshade family for a while and travel with her," the other added. "She wanted you to co with her. But you rejected her."

"You rejected her and kept chasing the two sisters," the first sobbed.

Cain frowned deeply.

"What do you an?"

The two attendants looked at each other.

Nothing.

They could not explain without revealing what they were doing.

"Nothing," they said together quickly. "Nothing at all."

They were still shocked.

They could read his mind.

Suddenly, curiosity overwheld them.

One attendant leaned toward the small window and called out, "Sir Albert!"

The carriage slowed.

"Pause the carriage," she added.

The wheels rolled to a stop.

Albert leaned down and opened the small front hatch, sticking his head inside.

"What is it?"

"Ask Cain sothing," one attendant said quickly.

Albert frowned. "Why?"

"Just ask."

He looked confused but sighed.

He turned to Cain. "What do you think of , Cain?"

The two attendants imdiately whispered, "Do not say it out loud. Say it in your head."

Cain stared at them, bewildered.

What is this ga?

Still, he complied.

Good old friend.

Albert suddenly blinked.

He straightened slightly.

"...Good old friend," he repeated slowly.

The two attendants gasped.

"What did he answer?" they asked quickly.

Albert swallowed. "He said good old friend."

Cain’s eyes widened.

How—

Then suddenly—

His mind blurred.

He paused again.

Why do I feel my blood mana being triggered again?

The lingering magic around him grew stronger this ti, wrapping around his thoughts like a thin veil.

Albert’s eyes widened in shock.

"I can hear his thoughts," he whispered.

The two attendants stared at each other.

"We can too."

They all turned toward Cain.

Cain looked at them slowly, unease creeping into his chest.

"What," he said carefully, his voice steady but edged with disbelief, "you three can read my mind?"
