After a long wait, night gradually fell.
Su Hongli took Lin Shanshan away from Shelter No.17 on Fengxiang Street. Several War Soldiers followed close behind, carrying the injured Lin Youpeng and Guan Changyun on stretchers.
"Maintain vigilance! Full speed ahead!"
"We must reach the safety base before dawn!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
The once brilliantly lit and bustling city, now deprived of its power supply, was left in utter darkness. The high-rise buildings that shot up from the ground were like giants shrouded in a sinister fog. Their shattered doors and windows were unhealable wounds on their massive bodies.
The group moved forward in the dark, passing through Fengxiang Street and about to enter the next district. However, just as they reached a crossroads, Su Hongli, who was leading the way, suddenly stopped and raised her hand, signaling them to halt.
Everyone looked intently ahead, their faces grave.
In the darkness-shrouded crossroads, massive figures were wandering about. Even from a distance, they could feel a chilling, murderous aura, as if they were ghosts roaming the night.
Suddenly, clusters of eerie green light appeared in the darkness, like fireflies in a forest.
They were the eyes of Shu Demons!
Beads of sweat ford on Su Hongli's forehead, but she remained calm in the face of danger.
"Execute Plan B!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
In truth, I had anticipated a situation like this. I was ordered by Yue Tianyang to co to Shelter No.17, find Lin Shanshan, and escort her to the safety base. An impossible mission. But I took it anyway, without hesitation. When I chose to accept this task, I had already resolved to face death!
At her command, the fearless War Soldiers, carrying rocket launchers, charged resolutely toward the Shu Demons ahead. An ear-shattering explosion followed, and the light from the white phosphorus rounds seed to paint the entire night sky.
However, the weapons humans used to kill each other were utterly insignificant and powerless against this force from a prehistoric civilization.
"Stop wasting your effort."
Suddenly, a mocking male voice ca from the glow of the fire ahead.
Su Hongli looked up, her eyes falling on a young man walking toward them. He was tall with a bare upper body, his muscles bulging as though they were about to explode, radiating a sense of extre power. Protruding from his elbows and shoulders were ghastly white bone spurs, like deadly blades.
Clearly, he's a Special Ability Warrior created by the Holy Boi Religion with their serum!
"I recognize you… an elite agent from the Inspection Bureau of Hua Country, codenad 'Red Carp,' and also the one in charge of the Henghai Su Financial Group."
A vicious smile spread across the young man's face as he stuck out a lizard-like tongue to lick his purplish lips.
"Allow to introduce myself. My na is Gu Jue," he said. "Before tonight, I might have been a nobody. But after tonight, I could be your man."
A look of disgust flashed in Su Hongli's eyes. Seeing Gu Jue swagger toward her, she secretly prepared to make a move. But for so reason, the strange aura emanating from Gu Jue gives an indescribable sense of pressure.
"I won't let you bully Auntie Liyu!"
Just then, Lin Shanshan stord out of the crowd with her cheeks puffed out in anger. With hands on her hips, she stood in front of Su Hongli to confront Gu Jue.
Gu Jue just smiled faintly. "Newborn calves certainly don't fear tigers."
"Shan Shan, co back—"
Su Hongli's eyes widened. She started to shout, but before the word "back" could leave her mouth, she saw Lin Shanshan running toward Gu Jue, waving her tiny fists.
Gu Jue was still smiling, not taking the toddler seriously at all.
BOOM!
The next mont, however, his smile froze on his face forever. Lin Shanshan's tiny fists had sent him flying. The terrifying force instantly shattered his ridians, killing him on the spot.
After landing the punch, Lin Shanshan stood proudly, hands on her hips, a faint green aura radiating from her body.
"Mommy told to keep a low profile and not reveal my strength so easily, but I have no choice now! Shan Shan can't be low-key anymore!"
Staring at Lin Shanshan talking to herself, Su Hongli, Tang Hong'e, Yun Wanzhou, and the group of War Soldiers were all dumbfounded and utterly incredulous.
"Is this… is this the daughter of the King of the Nation and Marshal Yue?"
"That's terrifying!" a War Soldier exclaid.
"Shan Shan, look out!" Su Hongli suddenly shouted, having noticed sothing.
A pack of Shu Demons was pouncing at Lin Shanshan!
Seeing so many of them lunging at her, Lin Shanshan's face turned pale with fright, but she showed no sign of backing down.
"Hmph! A bunch of little monsters disrupting universal peace! Today, I'll let you have a taste of my Asura Fist."
A mont later, Su Hongli and the others were rendered completely speechless as they watched the Shu Demons convulsing and screaming in agony on the ground before finally dying.
When she ca to her senses, Su Hongli walked toward Lin Shanshan with an exasperated look.
"I an, Shan Shan, if you're so powerful, then why didn't you just..."
Before she could finish, Lin Shanshan's little body swayed, and she collapsed powerlessly toward the ground.
Su Hongli rushed to catch her. "Shan Shan, what's wrong with you?!" she cried out anxiously.
Lin Shanshan opened her eyes in her arms, weakly waved a small hand, and said, "It's okay, Auntie Liyu. Shan Shan isn't going to die. Grandpa Guan told my body is still very young and can't handle so much power, so every ti I show my strength, I get very sleepy."
Hearing this, Su Hongli breathed a sigh of relief. She turned to the others and commanded, "Keep moving!"
BOOM!
Suddenly, a loud noise ca from ahead without warning. It was as if sothing heavy had fallen from the sky, smashing a large crater into the street and kicking up a plu of dust that billowed toward the sky.
In an instant, an overwhelming pressure washed over them, weighing heavily on Su Hongli and the others, making it hard to breathe.
"Only a few years old yet possessing Earth Immortal Level power. No wonder the Archbishop is so eager to get his hands on you."
An old voice ca from within the dust cloud.
Su Hongli's expression was wary. "Who are you?"
"You are not yet qualified to know who I am," the voice sneered. "Hand over that little girl, and I might consider giving you a quick end!"
