As his voice fell, Dou Dou's body suddenly burst apart into a shower of gore. Then, wisps of a visible, malevolent bloody aura began to rise from the shattered remains. This aura was a fusion of Dou Dou's soul with the essence of her flesh and blood! The so-called blood sacrifice was a ritual to offer up this very aura!
The malevolent bloody aura flew toward the sky at incredible speed and was absorbed by the Forbidden Heavenly Barrier. The barrier then fed the aura back to the Construct Wood, which in turn transmitted it to Luo Xiu through the nine Blood Chains.

Yaya stood frozen, her expression dazed and vacant. Her face, hands, and clothes were all covered in blood and gore.
It was Dou Dou's blood. It was Dou Dou's flesh!
"You… you… give Dou Dou back to !" she shrieked, her voice quivering.
She snapped her head up to glare at Luo Hao on the Construct Wood, her eyes bloodshot and spilling crimson tears. This was like a sudden nightmare, one she simply could not accept.
Luo Hao, however, rely smiled indifferently. He didn't respond to her and calmly sat down cross-legged.
Yaya let out a furious roar, about to charge forward and fight him to the death.
But just then, Mu Xueyan, Yang Zhilu, Lin Xiyue, Di Xuanji, Xu Qianqing, Su Shanyue, and the others also began to walk toward the altar. Just like Dou Dou before them, they moved like walking corpses.
"This is bad!" Master Ping knew what was about to happen, but he couldn't bear to imagine it. In his final monts, Luo Xiu had entrusted everyone to him.
"All of you, get back here!" Master Ping roared, desperately mustering the last of his strength to pull them into the World Inside the Vase.

Zhang Yi went out to see Lin Shanshan desperately pulling on Lin Jianlong's hand. The young girl's face was flushed red with exertion, but she couldn't move him no matter how hard she tried.
Earlier, when everyone had rushed to the battlefield to find Luo Xiu, the injured Lin Jianlong had stayed behind. Lin Shanshan had also remained, as Lin Xiyue had asked her to stay and take care of him. Now, Lin Jianlong had clearly undergone a mutation and was moving like a puppet.

"Where are Her Majesty and the Divine Doctor Sister?" Zhang Yi asked.

With the sound of sothing cutting through the air, Master Ping appeared before Zhang Yi.
"Everyone is in the World Inside the Vase. They're temporarily isolated."
Zhang Yi spoke quickly, "Is it the Shu Poison acting up? I have a way to deal with it!"

Luo Xiu felt as if he had slept for a very long ti. When he awoke, he found himself tightly bound by nine Blood Chains, suspended above a sea of blood.
He quickly realized that this crimson sea was his very own Spiritual Ocean.
Suddenly, a wave of blood surged up from the ocean, solidifying into a figure that floated before him. The figure was naked. Its eyes, like blood-red gemstones, shone with a chilling light, and its waist-length white hair swayed eerily.
Luo Xiu looked up, shocked to see that the figure's features were identical to his own, as if he were staring at his reflection in a mirror.
"Who are you?" Luo Xiu asked.
"I am Dream and Asura."
Luo Xiu watched him coldly. "What exactly do you want?"
Dream and Asura smiled faintly. "It's no longer about what I want, but what *they* want."
He finished speaking and, with a wave of his hand, filled Luo Xiu's mind with scenes that were both clear and brutal.
He saw Dou Dou walk toward the altar like a zombie before her body suddenly exploded, sacrificed in the bloody ritual. Then, Mu Xueyan, Yang Zhilu, Lin Xiyue, Di Xuanji, Xu Qianqing, Su Shanyue, and the others all began to march toward that sa altar like the walking dead, preparing to offer themselves as well.
"No…"
"DON'T!"
"Qian Qing… Yueyue… You have to stop!"
Luo Xiu's eyes turned blood-red as he struggled fiercely, letting out a hysterical scream. But no matter how he thrashed and scread, it was useless. On the contrary, the Blood Chains binding him only tightened, constricting him to the point of suffocation.
Dream and Asura, however, remained unnaturally calm. Paying no mind to Luo Xiu's frenzy, he said dispassionately, "Now, I believe I understand. Because I am not a complete Divine Soul, those people intend to perform a blood sacrifice with the living beings of this era to make whole."
