The darkness solidified, pressing down with an imnse, rciless weight. Luo Xiu felt his entire body enveloped, every inch of his flesh on the verge of being pulverized.
If this continues, I'll disappear along with this void, he thought.
Once The Void was annihilated, it would cease to exist in this world. Consequently, Luo Xiu would also cease to exist, annihilated into nothingness.
Though his mind raced with urgency, Luo Xiu didn't panic. He clenched his teeth and struggled desperately.
However, facing the seemingly endless pressure, his struggles were as futile as thrashing in a deep quagmire.
Just then, Hua Muyan's voice echoed in his mind, "Master, try to ascend just a little higher. Yan'er might be able to get you out."
Her words steeled his heart. His Destructive Thunder Wings unfurled, and facing the pressure from above, he flapped his wings and tried to soar upward.
However, the law of annihilation in this patch of The Void proceeded from top to bottom. In the section above that had already been annihilated, nothing could exist anymore; the very concept of "existence" had been erased. No matter how hard Luo Xiu tried, he couldn't ascend even a fraction of an inch.
"Damn it!"
"I refuse to believe it!"
"Break for !"
With a mountain-like weight pressing down on his head, his scalp already bleeding, Luo Xiu suddenly roared and threw a fierce punch upward.
A violent surge of Glazed Thunder fused with the force of his fist!
CRACK.
It was as if a mirror in the darkness had shattered.
The Void broke. Out of nothingness, a space capable of holding matter was born.
Luo Xiu's heart leaped with joy, as if he had just grasped a lifeline. He imdiately unleashed a furious barrage of lightning-fast punches!
Since there's no path left, I'll have to forge my own!
As Luo Xiu threw punch after punch, he actually managed to beat a straight passage through the annihilated void!
After a mont, Luo Xiu returned to his starting point, following the approximate direction from mory.
A Flower Vine sprouted from his wrist, transforming into a graceful figure.
Seeing the exhausted and bloodied Luo Xiu, Hua Muyan felt a piercing pain in her heart. She reached out to hold him in her arms, then clenched her jaw and used her Construct Wood Power to forcibly tear open a spatial crack in front of them.
The spatial crack was tiny, like the sliver of an eye just barely opened—so small it was almost negligible.
But this was the absolute limit of Hua Muyan's current power.
Moreover, she was taking a huge gamble.
Fortunately, her gamble paid off.
Just as the tiny spatial crack was about to collapse, a Dao Law God Chain forcefully squeezed through.
A smile appeared on Hua Muyan's face. "Truly worthy of being called Master Ping."
…
「In the Holy Lotus Hall.」
「By the Lotus Pond.」
Luo Xiu and Master Ping sat back-to-back, both utterly exhausted and gasping for breath, yet still muttering a stream of curses.
Hua Muyan knelt before Luo Xiu, tenderly wiping the blood from his face and tending to his wounds.
Previously, Luo Xiu had used "Three Thousand Green Lotus Petals" twice and expended an imnse amount of Divine Power. Now, his left eye had reached its limit; it would no longer open and was even bleeding incessantly.
Furthermore, his condition had flared up the mont he used the Glazed Thunder to smash a path through the dark void.
After resting for so ti, Luo Xiu finally caught his breath.
Enduring the pain, he struggled to his feet and asked, "Master Ping, what happened earlier? Why did your Dao Law God Chain suddenly break?"
"Ugh, don't fucking ntion it," Master Ping waved his hand dismissively. "Right after I sent you into The Void, that bastard suddenly appeared. Lucky for us, you took out its main body in ti. Otherwise, on this day next year, you'd be bringing your wife and kids to burn incense at my grave."
He continued, "It was right at that mont that I reached my limit and couldn't maintain the Dao Law God Chain any longer."
Luo Xiu let out a long breath. "What exactly was that thing?"
Gasping, Master Ping replied, "I know very little about Void Creatures. It looked like a giant egg, so let's just call it the 'Void Behemoth' for now."
Luo Xiu nodded, then held out his hand to Master Ping, revealing an object.
It was the hard object Luo Xiu had retrieved when the Void Behemoth was destroyed.
Master Ping peered at it closely and exclaid, "Holy shit!"
"How did you get this?"
Luo Xiu answered honestly, "After the Void Behemoth died, its body turned to ash, leaving only this bone intact. So I went and grabbed it."
He added, "This must be its Ling Bone. I can feel a dense aura of the Taoist Arts from it."
Master Ping grinned. "Perhaps you can even comprehend so Void Taoist Arts from it, lad."
Luo Xiu carefully put it away, deciding to study it later when he had ti.
Master Ping flopped onto his back, sighing, "That was a really close call!"
Luo Xiu said, "It was also thanks to Yan'er. Otherwise, I really might have been done for. That place was terrifying; I never want to go back."
Hearing this, Master Ping cast a grateful look at Hua Muyan.
She simply offered a gentle smile and said nothing.
Just then, Master Ping asked Luo Xiu, "Speaking of which, I saw you use the Dao Law God Chain to capture a lot of souls in your Soul Imprisonnt Mark. What do you plan to do with them?"
"Release them, of course," Luo Xiu replied.
A sly grin appeared on Master Ping's face. "How about you just release Wei Qingkuang and keep the rest?"
Luo Xiu gave a bitter smile. "I wish I could, but I'm powerless to do so."
"Those people are either the Red Emperor or the White Emperor. In my current state, I can't possibly suppress their souls. If they all tried to break out at once, I'd be the one in danger."
At this, Master Ping shrugged helplessly. "Well, that's a damn sha."
…
During their conversation, Luo Xiu released the souls imprisoned within the Soul Imprisonnt Mark one by one.
The freed souls returned to their bodies in the grand hall, and one after another, they began to awaken.
When Wei Qingkuang regained consciousness, her eyes imdiately found Luo Xiu and began to well up with tears.
Beside her, the three Holy Masters were also filled with gratitude.
Earlier, when she and the masters were exploring the Green Lotus Palace, they were attacked by an unknown entity upon reaching the Holy Lotus Hall. Their souls were then extracted and dragged into that bizarre void.
They had been certain they were going to die, never expecting that at the critical mont, Luo Xiu would risk his own life to save them.
"Fellow Daoist, thank you for saving our lives!"
"Fellow Daoist, I will never forget the debt I owe you for saving my life today!"
"…"
The cultivators from the Celestial Realm ca forward one after another to express their thanks.
Many of the more sincere ones even offered Elixirs and Miraculous dicines or Heaven and Earth Treasures as tokens of their gratitude.
Just then, a tall, burly, middle-aged man in Battle Armor strode toward the Lotus Pond, intending to pluck the Companion Green Lotus.
Seeing this, Master Ping shouted to stop him.
"Hey, hey, hey! You there! What do you think you're doing?!"
The middle-aged man paused and turned to look at Master Ping.
"I've heard that the Azure Emperor's Companion Green Lotus is a supre treasure of the great Dao, containing Fortune-Forming Power and limitless wondrous uses. I will pluck this lotus, not to keep for myself, but to share with everyone."
Master Ping sneered, "I'm afraid that won't be possible."
The middle-aged man's gaze hardened. "I've made myself clear. What is the aning of this?"
Master Ping t his gaze, his expression unchanging. "You cannot pluck this Green Lotus."
The middle-aged man suddenly laughed.
"In this world, there is nothing that I, Kui Bao, want and cannot obtain."
"Today, I'm determined to pluck this Companion Green Lotus!"
With that, Kui Bao looked over at a man in white standing apart from the crowd. "Five Elents Brother, what are your thoughts?"
The man in white smiled faintly. "If you're going to pluck it, be quick about it. I have other places to explore."
