Chapter 53

A few minutes later, the horoom class ended, with everyone required to head over to their aspect classes.

’It took the strength of all Legacies to put it down. Don’t ever cross the path of a Tyrant unless you have a death wish...’

Those words kept recurring in Ray’s mind as he made his way to the combat class.

’That was then, right? I an, it should have been several years ago. The Legacies are stronger now, right? Especially the big four...’

he pondered, keeping his head low while walking toward the combat hall for Captain Jake’s class.

’... Tch! Whatever. If they can’t do it alone, that doesn’t an I won’t be able to. I will just surpass them... yeah! That is it. Surpass those fools.’

Finally, he stepped into the combat hall, which was already filled with students.

The mont he walked in, his eyes landed on four familiar faces, causing his brows to knit together.

It was Flinn and his goo...friends.

Ignoring them, he moved away and stood in the middle of the crowd, ready for Jake to begin the lesson, only for the doors to the hall to swing wide open.

A beauty stepped inside with a blank expression on her face.

"Uh... is this the combat class?" she asked, her usual icy, detached look resting on her features.

Imdiately, whispers flared up.

— Wait! Isn’t she a ta-human? What is she doing here?

— I heard she mopped the ground with more than half of the ta-humans in the ability class. So what is she doing here?

— This class isn’t ant for her. Did she perhaps transfer here?

Hearing the last Aspirant speak, dread imdiately filled their hearts.

The Captain turned to stare at her with a scrutinizing look.

"Yes?"

Trisha simply replied,

"Is there still space? I decided to transfer to this class."

Jake lifted an eyebrow.

"And why is that?"

Trisha paused, her eyelids blinking a few tis before she answered.

"I... uh... I just got bored of the ability class."

— She just got bored?! The hell?

Ignoring the comnts, the Captain smiled and gestured toward the class.

"Yeah, sure. Co in."

With that, Trisha walked in—chin raised high, shoulders relaxed as she passed through the crowd of piercing gazes, completely unperturbed.

Almost as if they didn’t exist.

Then she picked a corner to stand in.

The hearts of the guys in the room skipped a beat as they stared at her smooth face.

Despite the cold expression she wore, she still looked breathtaking.

’I will make sure to win her over no matter what,’ all the guys declared inwardly—everyone except one...

Ray.

He couldn’t care less about the new arrival as he tucked his hands into his pockets, thinking about the training that would be happening soon.

"Okay." Captain Jake shouted as he clapped his hands, snapping everybody out of their murmurs.

"Today, I was wondering if we twist things up a little." The man said, scanning the eager smiles of the young boys in the room, clearly influenced by the new arrival.

’This will be fun.’

"... So, we have been learning the three groups of kicking for the past two weeks, eh? You all have been practicing on the training dummies for a while, and I figured—why not make this interesting?"

Ray yawned quietly as he rubbed his ears with an aloof expression.

"And currently, I don’t feel like going easy on anybody." As he said that, his gaze landed on Trisha.

"So... I want volunteers to co up here and duel with our new entries. When I say ’entries,’ I an all the new Aspirants that ca in today."

Hearing this, all eyes lit up excitedly.

"Can all those who ca in today co up here?"

With that, Flinn and his three friends began walking forward with calm expressions on their faces.

They had chosen to transfer after the battle with Ray.

The humiliating defeat had forced them to reconsider their options and ultimately decide to learn how to fight properly instead of relying on brute force alone.

Trisha too began striding forward like she owned the place.

After a short while, the five stood behind the Captain on the imnsely wide platform that was about ten ters long and equally wide.

"Now, shall I have ten volunteers co forth to show these newbies how to fight—one by one?"

Instantly, ten simps shot forward like uncoiled springs, all because of one girl!

In this class... nobody was allowed to use their abilities, and they all knew how powerful Trisha was when she relied on hers.

But with this restriction in place, they should all be on par with her... right?

"Great." Jake clapped his hands and began rubbing them together devilishly as a dark glint of amusent flashed across his eyes — a glint Ray caught for just a mont.

’What is he planning?’

"So here are the rules..." Jake began, pointing at the ten standing in front of him. "I will select one out of the five behind , okay? And one of you in front of for the spar. The goal is to teach them what you have learned and also give pointers mid-spar.

If you actually manage to overpower them — which I have a feeling you would — they will return to the back while you will stand aside. The sa format applies for the rest."

He paused briefly as he turned to stare at the five behind him for a mont before adding,

"And if you are unable to defeat your opponent, the undefeated will remain on the platform until soone is able to defeat them. This is training as much for them as it is for you.

No abilities should be used; otherwise, I will expel you from this class."

— How will we know who wins and who loses?

"The winner will be standing and the loser on the ground. Simple." Jake shrugged as if he hadn’t put much thought into the conditions at all.

"I don’t want to waste ti, so let’s begin. First off, you!" He said, pointing to one of the ten guys, who quickly clenched his hands while praying inwardly.

’Please be the beauty, please... please.’

"Against him."

’Him?’ the Aspirant thought with a frown as he opened his eyes to see Jake pointing at one of Flinn’s friends.

’Tch! Whatever. I will prove I’m strong enough to catch her eyes,’ he thought as he stepped onto the platform opposite Flinn’s friend, rolling his shoulders once to loosen up.

The hall grew quiet, anticipation thick in the air.

"Let the spar begin!"
