20’ - 31’ |

Atalanta settle into their rhythm in the twenty-third minute when possession begins circulating through midfield with more control, and Ederson drops deep to collect a pass from Musso before taking two touches and sliding a ball between Monza’s midfield lines toward Koopiners who has found space in the pocket.

Koopiners turns smoothly under pressure and releases wide to Hateboer who has overlapped down the right flank, and the cross cos low and hard across the six-yard box seeking runners.

Scamacca tis his movent perfectly and arrives sliding with his right foot extended, but his connection sends the ball into the side netting instead of inside the post and the chance is wasted.

The away section groans while Scamacca rises with his hands on his head before turning back toward midfield, and Atalanta reset for the goal kick.

Comntary Booth

"So close for Atalanta!" the comntator says. "Brilliant buildup through Ederson and Koopiners, Hateboer’s cross is dangerous, and Scamacca just can’t direct it on target. Side netting."

"That’s the kind of move they’ve been working on," his colleague notes. "Quick circulation, then exploiting the space behind Monza’s wingbacks. The execution was almost there."

In the thirty-first minute the breakthrough arrives from a turnover in midfield when Monza’s midfielder takes a heavy touch under pressure from de Roon and the ball rolls loose, and Ederson reads the mistake imdiately by stepping forward and poking the ball into space ahead where Lookman is already accelerating.

Lookman collects in full stride and drives toward the penalty area while two defenders scramble to recover, and as he reaches the edge of the box he looks up once before squaring the ball low across goal.

Scamacca arrives sliding from the left side with his montum carrying him toward the six-yard box, and his right foot taps the ball past the goalkeeper who has committed to diving right while the net behind him ripples.

GOAL: MONZA 0-1 ATALANTA (31’)

The away section explodes with sustained noise that overwhelms the stunned silence from the ho stands, while Scamacca rises from the ground and jogs back toward the halfway line without celebration beyond raising one fist briefly.

Ederson claps once toward Lookman while moving back into position, and Atalanta’s players reset quickly for the restart.

Comntary Booth

"GOAL! Atalanta take the lead!" the comntator roars. "Ederson with the turnover, Lookman with the driving run, and Scamacca with the finish! Clinical from the visitors."

"Excellent awareness from Ederson," his colleague adds. "He reads that loose touch imdiately and releases Lookman into space. The square ball is perfect and Scamacca can’t miss from there. One-zero Atalanta."

32’ - 45’ |

Monza push forward before halfti with urgency replacing their earlier patience, and their fullbacks commit higher while their midfielders press Atalanta’s buildup more aggressively.

Two shots from distance arrive in quick succession — both blocked by defenders throwing their bodies into the path — and the pressure builds without creating clear chances because Atalanta’s defensive shape holds firm.

The fourth official raises his board showing two minutes of added ti, and Monza send one final cross into the penalty area that Scalvini heads clear powerfully before the referee checks his watch.

Fweeeeeetttttttt! Fweeeeeetttttttt! Fweeeeeetttttttt!

HALFTI: MONZA 0-1 ATALANTA

Players turn toward the tunnel and the scoreboard shows the score while the ho crowd offers scattered applause for their team’s effort despite the deficit, and Atalanta’s away section continues singing as the teams disappear.

The dressing room is calm when the team enters and players move to their positions without urgency while water bottles are distributed and towels are passed around, and Gasperini stands near the tactical board waiting for everyone to settle.

"Sa shape," he says without preamble. "They’ll push higher in the second half. That creates more space behind them. Lookman, Hateboer — when the ball turns over, attack that space imdiately."

He taps the board once where the space behind Monza’s wingbacks would exist, then steps back.

"Forty-five minutes. Focus."

46’ - 52’ |

The second half begins with Monza pressing higher as Gasperini predicted and their defensive line pushes fifteen yards further up the pitch while their wingbacks stay advanced even when Atalanta has possession, and the space behind them opens visibly.

In the fifty-second minute Atalanta exploit it when de Roon wins a header in midfield and the ball drops to his feet, and without taking a touch he launches a diagonal pass toward the left flank where Lookman has already started his run.

Lookman controls the ball with his chest while still moving at full speed and the bounce takes him past the recovering wingback, and as he reaches the edge of the penalty area he cuts inside sharply onto his right foot.

The defender arrives late with a sliding challenge but Lookman has already shaped his body to shoot, and his finish cos low and hard toward the near post where the goalkeeper dives but can’t reach it.

GOAL: MONZA 0-2 ATALANTA (52’)

The net ripples and Lookman wheels away toward the corner flag with both arms raised while the away section behind the goal erupts again, and teammates chase him down before the celebration is cut short by Lookman himself who turns and jogs back toward the halfway line.

Comntary Booth

"GOAL! Lookman doubles the lead!" the comntator shouts. "Brilliant ball from de Roon, and Lookman’s pace takes him clear. The finish is clinical. Two-zero Atalanta."

"That’s exactly the space Gasperini would have identified at halfti," his colleague observes. "Monza pushing higher to chase the ga, and it leaves them vulnerable on the counter. Excellent execution."

53’ - 68’ |

Monza’s heads drop slightly after the second goal and their pressing becos less coordinated while gaps appear between their defensive line and midfield, and Atalanta control possession without forcing attacks because protecting the lead becos the priority.

The away section continues singing while the ho crowd grows quieter with each passing minute, and Monza make two substitutions in the sixty-third minute trying to inject fresh energy.

At sixty-eight minutes the fourth official’s board goes up on Atalanta’s sideline.

Number 28 — Demien WalterNumber 7 — Teun Koopiners

Demien jogs onto the pitch while Koopiners moves toward the touchline, and they exchange a brief touch of hands before Demien slots into the position beside Ederson while the shape compresses slightly.

69’ - 79’ |

Atalanta sit deeper now with two goals protecting them and the defensive block drops into their own half while Monza send crosses into the penalty area repeatedly, and Scalvini and Tolói head clear again and again while Musso claims two high balls with confidence.

In the seventy-ninth minute Demien receives a pass under pressure near the halfway line with a Monza midfielder closing from behind, and he shields the ball with his body before turning away from the challenge and driving forward into space.

A defender steps in to close him down and Demien shifts the ball left with the outside of his boot before releasing wide to Lookman who has dropped deeper to offer support, and Lookman’s cross into the box is cleared by a defender at the near post.

Atalanta recycle possession through short passes in their own half while the clock continues running, and Monza’s frustration becos visible in their challenges as two yellow cards are shown within three minutes.

80’ - 85’ |

Monza pull one back in the eighty-fifth minute when a shot from outside the box takes a deflection off Djimsiti’s outstretched leg and the ball loops over Musso who has committed to diving in the original direction, and it drops just beneath the crossbar into the net.

GOAL: MONZA 1-2 ATALANTA (85’)

The ho crowd surges to life with noise returning in volu, and Monza’s players imdiately gesture for their teammates to push forward while the restart is prepared.

Comntary Booth

"Monza have hope!" the comntator calls. "Deflection takes it over Musso and suddenly it’s a one-goal ga with five minutes remaining!"

86’ - 90’ 4’ |

Monza push everyone forward for the final minutes and long balls rain into Atalanta’s penalty area while the defensive line defends in numbers, and during one sequence Demien drops into the back line when a cross cos in and heads it clear from the edge of the area before the striker can reach it.

The fourth official signals four minutes of added ti and Monza send one final ball toward the box from deep in their own half, and Musso cos off his line to punch clear with both fists before de Roon collects the loose ball.

De Roon imdiately passes forward to Demien who has moved into space on the halfway line, and as he receives it a Monza player arrives late with a challenge that catches his ankle after the ball has already been touched past him.

The referee blows his whistle and points toward the spot where the foul occurred near the corner flag.

Free kick to Atalanta.

The ball is positioned and Demien stands over it while Monza players argue with the referee about ti-wasting, and when the whistle sounds he taps it short to Mæhle who imdiately shields it in the corner.

The clock runs down to ninety-four minutes before the referee checks his watch one final ti.

Fweeeeeetttttttt! Fweeeeeetttttttt! Fweeeeeetttttttt!

FULL TI: MONZA 1-2 ATALANTA

Atalanta players raise their arms briefly while the away section applauds, and Gasperini shakes hands quickly with Monza’s coach before walking toward the tunnel without celebration.
