Andrea’s gaze lifted slowly to see Valerie hovering midair, with hands stretched downward, and fingers trembling as she maintained the spell.
The magic circle below Andrea pulsed in response to her control. What confined the super-hybrid to that zone was a Space sealing barrier spell.
Then, Andrea dragged her claws through the barrier, like tearing fabric.
The space distorted, and Valerie’s arms shook as the spell strained under the pressure.
The magic circle flickered, then vanished, and the barrier collapsed instantly.
In that exact mont, Andrea raised her hand toward Valerie who froze, seizing control of her body within.
Valerie’s eyes widened in terror as she found herself floating downwards slowly, toward Andrea’s outstretched hand.
The princess was manipulating the blood inside Valerie’s body, forcing her forward like a puppet.
The closer Valerie got, the more her body strained unnaturally. Her limbs spasd under the pressure, alongside a straining expression as she fought against sothing she couldn’t control.
Then Andrea clenched her fist slightly and a sharp crack echoed, causing Valerie to scream as one of her bones snapped.
That scream traveled through the battlefield, until it reached Marvin’s ears.
He turned toward the sound, and in that split-second distraction, Aron lunged, trying to take advantage. But Marvin reacted instantly, dodging the strike before slamming his forehead straight into Aron’s face.
The impact staggered him, leaving him defenseless against Marvin’s next punch, which followed imdiately and sent Aron flying across the battlefield.
Marvin had returned focus to see Valerie suspended, and Eduardo buried under rubble.
In that mont, he sped toward Andrea in a bid to deliver an attack, with his fist already lunged forward.
But Andrea, without even turning, raised her hand and caught his fist. The Morgenstein family trait of danger precognition alerted the superhybrid to attacks long before they landed.
Then she turned her head slowly to face him. Her eyes narrowed slightly then she sniffed.
"...Why do you sll like that werewolf girl?" she said calmly.
Marvin’s arm strained within her grip as he tried to break free, but it didn’t move.
Without looking away from him, Andrea flicked her other hand and Valerie was sent flying backward like she had been discarded, crashing sowhere in the distance as a result.
Andrea now gave Marvin her full attention, tightening her grip and crushing his arm in her hold, while unleashing the sa illusory pain into his mind.
He gritted his teeth, but didn’t break eye contact.
Then her other hand grabbed his neck and lifted him slightly off the ground.
Leaning in close, she inhaled once more. "You really do sll like that girl."
Without warning, her hand drove forward straight through his chest. It made wet, violent sounds as her arm pierced through flesh and bone alike, driving straight through his heart.
Marvin’s body froze, then blood burst from his mouth as his eyes widened in shock.
And from the rubble, Eduardo pushed himself up, no longer the target of Andrea’s illusory pain, which gave him a brief mont of recovery.
Debris scattered around him as his eyes locked onto the scene ahead. And in that mont, his expression broke.
"No."
Before Eduardo’s eyes, Andrea stood with a grin stretched across her face. Her left hand held Marvin’s heart, and her right still gripped his neck.
For a brief, horrifying second, she spread both arms slightly, almost theatrically.
Then she let go.
The heart dropped, and the body followed.
Marvin’s form hit the ground with a dull, lifeless thud.
Sothing in Eduardo snapped.
He roared and vanished, shattering the ground beneath him as he launched forward, slamming into Andrea with such force that them through the next building instantly.
Then the next.
And the next.
He drove her through structure after structure, carrying her forward in a relentless surge of destruction. Walls and pillars burst apart on impact, with buildings collapsing as a result.
——
Valerie staggered to her feet.
Her vision swam, but the mont it cleared, she saw Marvin.
The sight of blood pooling beneath him, made her gasp. She rushed forward imdiately, dropping to her knees beside him as her hands trembled over his body.
A magic circle appeared beneath her palm, and expanded outward to envelop him completely.
Her expression was filled with panic as she tried to stabilize him, pouring everything she had into that greater healing spell.
"Stay with ... please... just—"
Her voice shook.
——
Back at House Arcorys...
Ethan and Hayley had just stepped out through the entrance. They walked quietly, neither saying anything as they moved down the path.
Suddenly, Ethan’s arcphone rang again.
He glanced at it and saw an unknown number, which made his brows furrow. However, this was his personal line, so anyone calling him was either family or a close friend, which is why he answered.
"Hello—"
His eyes widened. "What? Where?"
Hayley looked surprised. "What’s happening?"
"I have to go," that was all he said. A magic circle ignited beneath his feet, and in the next instant, he shot upward into the sky.
A sonic boom followed as he disappeared from sight.
Hayley stared up at the empty sky. "Ethan...?"
High above the city, Ethan moved like a streak of light.
He borrowed Arael’s passive skill: Supernatural Awareness; and the entire city’s structure mapped itself in his mind.
And then he found the place where it was all happening.
With that, he adjusted his trajectory and surged forward at full speed, cutting through the air as he locked onto the battlefield’s exact location.

Elsewhere...
Percival lowered the arcphone slowly, breathing hard.
"...Thank you," he said to the woman beside him, handing it back.
She looked confused, but nodded anyway as he turned away imdiately.
He had just asked a random stranger he found on the street for her arcphone. Thankfully, he always knew Ethan’s contact by heart.

Back at the battlefield...
Andrea whose face was bleeding profusely, slamd a punch into Eduardo’s with crushing force, and the impact sent his body through the air before crashing hard into the ground.
He quickly recovered and lunged forward, but Andrea imdiately stretched out her hand, halting his montum.
He managed one strained step forward before she curled her fingers; and his body jerked violently, forcing a strangled yell from him.
His blood was being ruptured, targeted at the exact points he took the most damage.
Every bruise, every internal fracture, all of it beca a trigger point. His blood surged against those weakened areas, bursting through tissue as pain exploded through his body all at once.
"—ARGH!"
Andrea watched him with a faint, satisfied look, her hand still held out as she controlled the flow.
But then, sothing shifted, which also made her expression changed.
Her eyes widened slightly as she felt sothing off.
The sensation passed through her like a crack in glass, disrupting the flow of control she had over the blood.
"Fuck" she whispered
rlin’s spell was done.
