Xue Dili: "..."
Although now doesn't seem like the right ti to be curious about soone's race, he truly was. Despite everyone looking human, at this mont, Xue Dili genuinely felt the chasm-like cultural and physiological differences between different races.
Is there really a civilization with such an outrageous gender ratio? And is there seriously a culture that forces one to marry dozens of wives? What kind of Hell is this, and dude, can you even afford it?
When the young man turned around, revealing the words "Little General" etched on his back in Interstellar Corps language, Xue Dili couldn't even muster a response. His entire focus was on this young man's race.
"Let tell you why I have such a code na. After completing my first mission, the captain noticed imdiately, praising as 'truly a wise and brave little general.' So I took this complint as my code na."
He pointed his thumbs at himself, with a "co on, praise " expression.
Xue Dili fell silent at once.
Hmm, he might really be young, perhaps even younger than myself.
Xue Dili concluded based on his expressions and habits; it's also possible their race doesn't mature as quickly as Earth people, like the Elf Race, which makes his psychological age seem at most like a middle schooler's to Xue Dili.
After staying silent for a while, overwheld by the mixed fragrance, he used Cursed Blood to cut off his sense of sll, finally feeling a bit better, and curiously asked again.
"By the way, you should be young, right? How many wives do you have now?"
The young general confidently pointed at himself, smiling: "I beca an adult last year, and now I already have 91 wives."
Xue Dili: "..."
Wait, did he hear that right, so many?
91 wives?
He was stunned for a mont. Once he confird he hadn't misheard, it was as if the cosmos was exploding in his head, spinning with countless chants of "I was born for this" echoing in his mind.
This barely adult kid has nearly a hundred wives? WTF, what is your race even about? Now he couldn't help but wonder what kind of world could give birth to such a peculiar civilization.
Before, it didn't feel real, and now Xue Dili can't comprehend a civilization where a man needs to have dozens of wives; his mind began to crash.
In the end, all he could do was marvel at how bizarre the cosmos is. Such a gender ratio race hasn't gone extinct, unbelievable.
Seeing Xue Dili's face contort into abstract expressions, the young general seed rather aggrieved and said, "Are you thinking sothing offensive?"
"Um, is it that obvious?" Xue Dili asked back.
"Everyone hearing about my race for the first ti makes that face, I've seen it a lot. Plus, so won from other planets look at like I'm scum. Eh, these are my holand's culture and customs. Although I have 91 wives, we're truly pure love," the young general said indignantly.
Xue Dili: "..."
Ah yes, the pure love War God with 91 wives. Although I've married 91 wives, I love each one equally, so I'm pure love...
Eh?
"Don't look at like that. At least all my wives love , they all willingly support , won't betray , nor get angry with . Everyone has clear roles, treating like a treasure," he proudly talked about how excellent his 91 wives were.
Xue Dili listened in silence.
He was entirely projecting an Earth person's perspective onto their world, hence the absurdity of "is having 91 wives too much?" coming to his mind.
But through the young general's chat, Xue Dili gained insight into their society's complete ecological structure.
Their social and family structure is like a pride of lions; it's not males supporting females but females providing for males. For society and civilization, the only thing males need to do is train their bodies well and pursue their dreams freely.
Of course, those dreams must be tied to fulfilling their reproductive responsibilities.
This is a race where females outnumber males by dozens of tis, so each male has to have dozens of wives, and many excellent males have nearly a hundred wives.
So, girls in that world are taught from a young age to bear family responsibilities, on how to beco good wives, to avoid being unable to marry when they grow up.
These vast numbers of wives form a whole team with distinct divisions, like a maid battle group.
Often when boys are in sothing like elentary school, there'd be just one boy in a whole class with the rest being girls. These girls are allocated by the state as "future wife" quotas.
Then, during childhood, before truly confirming relationships, those who feel unsuitable or want to switch can swap freely. After ten-plus years of schooling, those who stay by a boy are basically his future wife group.
During their schooling years of over a decade, these girls slowly sorted themselves into clear roles and cooperation - who would work and earn money, who would take care of the household and children, and who would protect the boys from being "stolen" by other vixens.
They all grew up together as childhood friends, boys and girls alike, for well over ten years of schooling. Those who couldn't get along basically left before confirming any relationships, going to hang themselves on another tree instead.
And this young General boasted with pride, saying that initially in his class, there were only 29 girls, but by the ti he graduated, he had gathered 91 girls around him, and even the first 29 wives didn't abandon him.
Xue Dili's eyes twitched at hearing this.
With a simple analysis, Xue Dili instantly understood why this young man was so confident that his wives wouldn't betray him.
In their world, n were rarer than giant pandas, and who didn't have dozens of wives?
The way these wives automatically beca wives' corps after graduation suggested that they guarded their n like thieves, preventing others from sneaking in, all the while excluding new won who still wanted a piece of the pie.
Under such circumstances, forget about betrayal; they were probably secretly scheming to beat you until you kneel, then imprison you in a secret room that no one knew about, forever.
What a bizarre world it really is, a civilization where won are responsible for earning, supporting the family, raising children, guarding against ho-wreckers, and forming battalions to protect their hos and little husbands unfolded before Xue Dili.
He was truly enlightened today.
There are such ridiculous races and civilizations in this Cosmos; despite this simplistic and straightforward "family"-unit structure, they have truly advanced to the interstellar civilization era, with rumored magic technology even producing self-thinking robots.
"Hey, buddy, how many wives do you have?" The young General asked, after proudly introducing his civilization and his loving wives.
Xue Dili: "..."
For the love of God, we're already in the Cosmos, how co you're still pestering about marriage?!
...
They exchanged so understanding of each other's civilizations, while Xue Dili marveled at the young General's holand.
The young General was amazed when he heard that in Xue Dili's ho, n took the wife's role. He claid it was such a strange race, as girls didn't learn to manage the ho, didn't learn to shoulder the family's weight, and instead n took that burden, calling it terrifying, and even said the world was too scary, was it not living in Hell?
Xue Dili: "..."
Forget it, cultural differences, can't communicate.
Just like how Olivia was essentially a Mimic Demon, so she basically had no desires or sha in reproduction, turning into a beauty simply because it was more popular and she could get by everywhere.
She flirted with Xue Dili not out of desire, but due to the different understanding of gender from being a genderless species relying on mitosis for reproduction.
And although the young General's race wasn't as outlandish as Mimic Demons, their culture and societal structure left Xue Dili bewildered.
Even in their society and culture, many girls eventually beca mbers of their biological brother's or younger brother's wife groups, which is considered a normal occurrence because resources were scarce, often requiring internal digestion.
This ridiculous social structure was sothing Xue Dili couldn't have possibly imagined, truly adult imagination limiting oneself.
The two chatted intermittently, while Xue Dili secretly passed on information about that world to this young man.
Though he seed unreliable, Xue Dili knew that this kid was once one who helped him on Fairy Tale Star.
Even though it was quite abstract...
But he was indeed a strong attacker in the Interstellar Corps, a warrior with Space Folding abilities, and even accidentally joined the Interstellar Corps at a young age, becoming a battle-hardened interstellar warrior under the training of big leaguers.
He also held two Savior dals.
Xue Dili asked why, when he had so many wives, he would engage in activities where he put his life on the line, wasn't he afraid his wives would be saddened after his passing?
The young man was silent for a mont, then said: "People, right, always need to pursue their dreams, isn't it? Besides, I already have 98 kids, with 4 sons, eting societal expectations, the rest of life is just about fulfilling my dreams."
"And also, while I'm hugging my wife and kids, there might be many cute girls elsewhere suffering, I can't stand that!" he complained indignantly, "You know, over ten of my wives were soone I t on my Savior journey."
Xue Dili: "..."
Damn, kid, you're still expanding your harem on the side!
Co to think of it, isn't there reproductive isolation in Otherworld harems? How co your race is like the Elf Race, even capable of overcoming reproductive isolation?
anwhile, he had realized the kid's dream, being a blend of idealistic brilliance and practical personal gains.
