"Alright, start folding the steel billet and continue hamring," the old man said.
"No, folding an uncleaned steel billet will allow impurities to get in," Xue Dili said. Though it was his first ti forging, he used to be a master swordsmith.
"Do as I say, a Magic Swordsmith and a Magic-guided Swordsmith are two entirely different schools," the old man explained, although Xue Dili didn’t understand.
Xue Dili imdiately folded the steel billet and, through repeated hamring, discovered the principle: the impurities being folded in were actually volcanic lava and energy.
With each strike, this Holy Sword would gain an additional layer of volcanic lava protection.
Xue Dili thought of his first enemy, the Witch Demon King, the undead who feared volcanoes.
If he had had this sword back then, he could have extracted the Witch Demon King’s marrow and pulled out his skull.
"Keep folding, keep hamring!" the old man’s voice continued to ring out.
Xue Dili kept folding without knowing how many tis, repeatedly hamring, while Fafnir watched from the side, using a fixture to help hold the steel billet in place for ease of hamring.
"Have the young lady prepare the quenching solution," the old man said.
Xue Dili imdiately instructed, "Fafnir, take out the water we prepared beforehand and add the blood."
"Got it!" Without hesitation, she quickly placed the water into the previously dug pit and dripped her liquid into it. The next mont, the red-hot steel billet was plunged into the blood-infused water.
Blood-red steam rose, and as the steel billet was lifted, Mount Fuji erupted with a stunningly fierce light, shooting straight into the sky.
This scene was naturally captured by the entire world, causing an uproar and panic around Mount Fuji, though it wasn’t sothing Xue Dili could have predicted.
"Very good, the billet is hard and straight, with such beautiful patterns, it can be enchanted now," the old man said happily.
Xue Dili picked up the sword billet in his hand, with patterns resembling neatly arranged feathers.
The most important thing was that the patterns also contained the power of Uncle Brave and volcanic power, making it very close to the legendary Holy Sword.
But unfortunately, only the blade existed as a Treasure; Xue Dili needed further attachnts and refinents.
He imdiately started the enchantnt work. These beautiful feather patterns were not just for show; they were the best enchantnt circuits.
Under the old man’s continued guidance, Xue Dili began adding enchantnt prefixes on the Holy Sword, including: fortitude, resilience, bloodsucking auto-repair, sharpness, piercing, energy concentration, magic power conduction, energy gathering, energy affinity, damage enhancent, and various other buffs.
After the enchantnts were completed, Xue Dili asked, "Old man, what material did you use for the hilt before?"
"Hmm... it was made from a unique cosmic tree, I’m not sure if it’s still out there in the cosmos," the forr mber of the Interstellar Corps said with a troubled expression.
"What’s it called?"
"In our ti, it was called the World Tree. It was a kind of tree planted on lifeless planets during interstellar exploration," the old man explained.
"Legend has it that the World Tree is the hair of the Venerable King. By planting a branch of the World Tree on a lifeless planet, it could help the planet gather water vapor, reconstruct the atmosphere, transform the world, and allow the birth of new native life on that planet. You could say a single World Tree could enable any temperate planet to birth new native life."
"That’s why we called it the World Tree back then. Many people carried branches of the World Tree to plant on barren planets, and perhaps a few billion years later, life would erge, or even the consciousness of a planet," the old man recounted stories from the First Era.
"Does this plant still exist in the cosmos? The na ’World Tree’ really fits," Xue Dili marveled at the wonders of the cosmos, imagining plants that could grow on dead stars, automatically gathering water and atmosphere, and inducing planets to birth life and consciousness.
"Hmm, if I’m not mistaken, you’ve already co into contact with the World Tree, right?" the old man suddenly asked Xue Dili with a puzzled tone.
Xue Dili: "?"
If he had ever encountered such a magical plant, he would have kept a piece for his collection. Who knows, he might plant one on Mars, and billions of years later beco the Creator God of Mars.
Though he felt that by then, he would have already turned to dust.
But the old man did not continue to dwell with Xue Dili. He silently went to a twisted corner of Xue Dili’s Consciousness Space, where he retrieved a branch and said, "Isn’t this the World Tree?"
Xue Dili: "???!!!"
That branch had been sealed temporarily inside Xue Dili’s body after solving the issue with the Divine King’s control of the Divine Tree, causing a twist in the Consciousness Space and leading part of the Divine Tree to invade it. However, Xue Dili had managed to suppress it.
But now, the old man was pointing at that Divine Tree branch, claiming it to be the "World Tree" capable of supporting other life?
Xue Dili felt as if his brain exploded instantly. He stared blankly at the old man and asked, "Old man, are you sure this is a branch of the World Tree?"
