The integration of the boy left a silence so complete it had weight that we can take on in the changes that we can be and seen. That is to say that we can have, and the idea was even fading in the face of pain. Sothing that could not be explained.

Karl stood in the now-finite bedroom in the way we can see and the take can actually shape everything, the walls no longer stretching into accusation but simply… walls. Old posters. Sothing was far off than it seed. A cracked ceiling that had once mapped every unsolved question. The ring on his finger pulsed once, almost gently, as if acknowledging the work done. The thing is, life could actually be unsubordinated, but working at the sa ti. This was the case for his essence.

Then the floor dropped.

Not taphorically. Literally. It fell upon the cause of fire.

The bedroom dissolved into a spiral staircase made of every lie Karl had ever told himself about his mother. Each step was a mory he had refused to finish: every ti he pretended the questions didn’t hurt the way he would think about his future lovers, every ti he solved a paradox instead of feeling it, every ti he let cycles continue because ending them felt like abandonnt.

The descent was long. Not painful. Not vain. Not faithful. Exhausting in the way only honesty can be.

At the bottom waited a throne room carved from the concept of “almost.” hen we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives an the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. At least, this could tell more about ourselves than we think.

A supre demon sat upon it.

Not Lucifer with horns and flair. Not so cartoonish devil. This was sothing older. Sothing that had watched the first lie ever told and smiled at its potential. the power. The glory. The ovation. Everything was there. Its form was fluid sotis a man in a perfect suit, sotis a mirror reflecting Karl’s own face at its most exhausted, sotis a vast shadow with too many hands. Its eyes were every unfinished ending Karl had ever allowed. The more you look at it, the more you shape it.

The Supre Demon of Unresolved Cycles.

It smiled with teeth made of deferred decisions and questioned matters.

Supre Demon: So. The rcy boy arrives at last. The one who taught gods how to rest. That is pretty funny of you. The one who rewrote Ragnarök into a bedti story. Well, who would say that you would co to ? Tell , Axis of the Nine Worlds did you really think Hell would let you leave without paying the toll?Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden decision.

Its voice was every voice that had ever whispered “just one more ti” at 3 a.m. sothing could actually be heard…. it was painful… BURY THE LIGHT WITHIN! CAST ASIDE! THERE IS NO COMING HOEE! LOST IN TIEEE!

Karl stood straight. The ring burned cold and clear on his finger. Every will he had trained for a hundred million years aligned behind his eyes.

Karl: I paid the toll already, and you have seen it. You are trying to play gas with . I walked through my own unfinished self. I brought him ho. We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.That is to say that no one could ever leave what it ans to be alive without carrying every version of it. The thing is, this love cannot pretend it does not include the pain.

The Supre Demon laughed. The sound made the walls bleed deferred grief. Hell beca an oven of decisions.

Supre Demon: How noble. How rciful. How utterly predictable. I knew this from the very beginning. You think honesty is a key. But so doors were never ant to be opened cleanly. So cycles exist because without them, existence would have to face its own emptiness. I guess you have forgotten who I am. I am the necessary rot. The shadow that makes your precious light aningful. Without , your rcy becos tyranny. Your endings beco prisons with better lighting. Now, you should die.

It rose from the throne. Its form stretched until it filled the chamber a being made of every loop Karl had ever refused to break in others.

Supre Demon: You integrated the boy. Cute. Adorable and pathetic. But what about the man who still believes he must solve everything before he is allowed to be loved? I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sotis so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing mories, from a sense of unberable loneliness and a dread of so strange impending doom. That is to say that you have fWhat about the part of you that sent you here because even you don’t fully trust your own rcy? I am that part. The Father of Lies who never learned honesty. The one who keeps the wheel turning because stopping feels like death.

Karl stepped forward. Not with power. Not with anger. With the quiet, unstoppable force of good thoughts, good words, and good deeds finally allowed to finish what they started.

Karl: Then let’s finish you too.

He raised his left hand.

The ring sang not loud, but complete. The harmony of nine worlds and every will trained beyond ti.

Will to Death Will to Life Will to Love Will to Sadness All the rest, perfectly aligned

The Supre Demon lunged — a storm of unfinished cycles, of lies that had beco truth through repetition, of rcy that had never been tested against its own source.

Karl did not dodge.

He embraced it.

The impact was cataclysmic and silent at once. The chamber shook as every deferred decision, every avoided ending, every self-lie Karl had ever carried collided with the honesty he had forged in the white room.

For one impossible mont, the Supre Demon wore Karl’s face completely.

Supre Demon (with Karl’s voice): You would end ? You would end the part of yourself that still doubts?

Karl (soft, steady, carrying every version of himself): I would love you enough to let you rest.

The Supre Demon scread — not in rage, but in the particular agony of sothing that had defined itself through negation finally being offered completion.

Then it began to dissolve. Not violently. Not in fire. But in quiet, honest unraveling. The lies unknotted. The cycles exhaled. The shadow stepped into light and found it did not burn.

When it was done, what remained was not nothing.

It was a small, quiet fla. Not consuming. Just… present. A reminder that even the Father of Lies could learn honesty when t with rcy that refused to flinch.

Karl exhaled.

The chamber around him began to fade — not into darkness, but into the familiar creak of the Carlisle house stairs.

The ring cooled.

He had faced the last knot inside himself.

Hell had not conquered him.

He had simply refused to let it remain Hell.

And sowhere above, in the living room where tea had lost all aning, the others were waiting — Larisa, Freyja, Emma, Jas — for the man who had just finished the final unfinished piece of his own story.

Karl took the first step upward.

The descent was over.

The honest return had begun.
