A divorce... maybe that really is a viable option.
With that thought, Jiang Zuo went into the living room and started rummaging around. He rembered printing out a divorce agreent.
He still had no idea how to actually use it. He’d just seen people on TV sign one when they got divorced, so he’d looked it up online and printed out a proper-looking copy.
It would make the divorce feel more official.
’What was I even thinking back then? Did I really want a divorce, or was I just trying to threaten Su Qi with this thing?’
But regardless of his intentions, Su Qi had agreed in the end, and they divorced as a matter of course.
Thinking back on it, Jiang Zuo found it all rather baffling.
Not dwelling on it, Jiang Zuo found the divorce agreent in a drawer and placed it on the coffee table. Now, all he had to do was wait for Su Qi to return so they could go through with the proceedings.
Before long, Jiang Zuo received a text ssage from the Tianhe Group:
Fellow Daoist Po Xiao, your commission, number 0018092589, has been completed. The requested item, Profound Iron Wood, is now in storage at the Tianhe Division warehouse. Please retrieve it at your earliest convenience.
Jiang Zuo smiled faintly. ’Looks like those people weren’t brazen enough to withhold paynt. As for their so-called ’generous reward,’ that was obviously a lie.’
It was still morning, so Jiang Zuo headed out for the Tianhe Group headquarters.
Su Qi wasn’t arriving until the afternoon, so this shouldn’t cause any delay.
Jiang Zuo put the Silver Ring away instead of wearing it. He understood the principle of not flaunting one’s wealth.
The main reason was that the ring was too conspicuous. Anyone with a discerning eye would imdiately recognize it as a Space Ring.
He needed to wait for his Innate Two Qi to recover before he could place a Seal on the ring. Then, to others, it would look like just an ordinary ring.
Sealing it with an Array would also work, but it wasn’t as effective as using the Innate Two Qi.
As for the Holy Beast Descendant Egg and the Spiritual Talisman, Jiang Zuo had naturally tossed them both into the Space Ring.
Before long, Jiang Zuo arrived at the Tianhe Group building. As for the warehouse’s location, he found out simply by asking soone.
The warehouse wasn’t on the sa floor as the marketing departnt, but one level up.
This area was also protected by a slew of Arrays and Restrictions, far more stringent than the floor below.
Jiang Zuo asked the receptionist, "I’m here to pick sothing up. Where do I need to register?"
The receptionist said, "Your work badge."
Jiang Zuo had her scan his badge and was then told, "Warehouse Three."
Jiang Zuo went to Warehouse Three. There were a few people inside, and a middle-aged man sat off to one side.
He was probably the warehouse guard.
Jiang Zuo watched the others retrieving their items. It seed they all used their work badges to scan for the location of their goods, after which they could collect them.
Jiang Zuo mused, ’It feels like picking up a package from a delivery station.’
’Still, the security is much higher this way. At least things won’t be claid by the wrong person.’
’But if you lose your work badge, then all bets are off.’
’Besides, there are no photos on the badges. Not that a photo would help, since cultivators can use disguises.’
’So if your badge goes missing, your only option is to report it lost imdiately.’
Then, Jiang Zuo located his Profound Iron Wood. At that mont, a young woman ca to stand beside him.
A glance revealed that it was Xin Linglong.
Xin Linglong saw Jiang Zuo then too. "Oh, it’s you. Um, thank you for saving yesterday."
"It was just a transaction," Jiang Zuo said blandly.
Xin Linglong: "..."
’This guy has no social skills at all.’
"Oh, right! You have a Spirit Beast Egg, don’t you? You probably have no idea how to hatch it, right? I can teach—"
"I know how."
"..."
’This man is so dense.’ Xin Linglong no longer felt like talking to him.
The Profound Iron Wood was only about a ter long, but its root system was well-protected and wrapped in soil, making it quite troubleso to carry.
Jiang Zuo had no choice but to use his Space Ring to transport it.
When no one was looking, he loaded the Profound Iron Wood into his Space Ring.
He then left the warehouse.
Just as he stepped out of the warehouse, Jiang Zuo’s phone rang. He glanced at the screen; it was Chen Yi.
"You’re looking for ?" Jiang Zuo asked as soon as he answered.
"Brother Zuo, it’s an ergency! We’ll pay!" Chen Yi said in a panic.
"What’s the matter?" Jiang Zuo asked.
Jiang Zuo wouldn’t refuse to help with a minor issue, especially since that group chat had proven to be quite useful.
"It’s about finding a Blood Demon again. A more powerful one seems to have appeared, and there’s a problem with the team’s configuration. They need a top-tier expert like you to bail them out."
Jiang Zuo nodded. "The sa place as last ti?"
"Yes."
"I’ll be there soon."
Simply locating a Blood Demon wasn’t difficult for Jiang Zuo.
He soon arrived back at the door to Perception No. 1. This ti, there were only three people inside, with the 3D holographic map still displayed on the table.
Chen Yi said, "Brother Zuo, they’re trapped. All they can do is passively defend."
"Find one Blood Demon, you said? Got it."
Jiang Zuo walked up to the map, took out a coin, and tossed it into the air.
As the coin flew up, Xiao Xiaomo fixed her eyes on it. The mont it landed, she would imdiately call out the coordinates.
She had already instructed the team on the ground to attack the given coordinates without hesitation.
But just as the coin was about to land, Jiang Zuo caught it in his hand.
Xiao Xiaomo and the others were stunned. What was happening?
"The number is wrong," Jiang Zuo stated.
Xiao Xiaomo asked, surprised, "The number is wrong?"
"There isn’t just one Blood Demon. Pinpointing a single one is aningless. If the team isn’t strong enough, it’s doubtful they could strike the Blood Demon before being attacked themselves."
Xiao Xiaomo was shocked. They’d been told there was only one Blood Demon.
Xiao Xiaomo then asked into her comms, "Do you know how many Blood Demons are surrounding you in total?"
"Isn’t there just one?" a voice, different from the one last ti, replied.
Jiang Zuo recalled that the speaker last ti had been a woman. This one was also a woman, but her voice was nowhere near as pleasant.
Not that Jiang Zuo cared about such things.
Xiao Xiaomo then said, "There’s more than one Blood Demon. Even if we locate them, you won’t be able to launch an effective attack."
"Then what should we do? Our Senior Sister already left, and our Martial Uncle isn’t here."
Jiang Zuo was taken aback. "This Senior Sister is unbelievably reckless. How could she leave a battle with Blood Demons before confirming they were all eliminated? Who is she?"
’I’ll have to be wary of this person,’ Jiang Zuo thought. ’If we ever have to work together in the future, I’ll need to keep my distance.’
"Fairy Jiu Xi. She..."
The mont he heard the na "Jiu Xi," Jiang Zuo froze. "Who did you say? Jiu Xi? Saintess Jiu Xi of the Yue Lian Holy Land?"
Jiang Zuo wasn’t familiar with many people, but he was exceptionally familiar with this particular Saintess.
’She was a cockroach you could never kill.’
’Last ti, I was wondering if I should find her and kill her ahead of ti. And now, she’s made her debut.’
Chen Yi said, "She’s not the Saintess, just a Candidacy Saintess."
’That’s it. There’s no mistake. It’s definitely her.’
The first ti Jiang Zuo had t Saintess Jiu Xi was over a hundred years in the future.
In the span of a hundred years, all it would take was a small "accident" for her to successfully beco the Saintess, barge into his life, and then endlessly tornt him.
Saintess Jiu Xi was the most odious person he had ever t. She was impossible to kill. Right up until his own death, he had still failed to kill her.
