Leigh Miles looked flustered. She averted her gaze and said, "It’s nothing, really. I just got exhausted from the fight."
"He couldn’t have beaten your senior sister." Alvin Morgan’s gaze was sharp, making Leigh Miles tremble inwardly.
Alvin Morgan continued, "She told she lost control, just like that madman..."
"She..." Leigh Miles opened her mouth but trailed off, as if she couldn’t find a way to explain.
Her fingers nervously picked at the hem of her clothes. She looked away, not daring to et his eyes.
"After she knocked that person out, why was she constantly muttering a scripture?" Alvin Morgan’s voice had grown cold.
Just as Leigh Miles was struggling for a reply, the kitchen door was suddenly pushed open.
Aurora Sinclair leaned against the doorfra and said softly, "Morgan, my killing intent is too strong. I need to recite the Heart Calming Scripture to control my emotions."
She was slightly out of breath, and the hand she used to support herself on the fra was trembling slightly, as if she had forced herself to walk here.
"Senior Sister..." Leigh Miles called out worriedly, but Aurora Sinclair raised a hand and ruffled her hair. "Leigh Miles, go check on Tiger."
The kitchen door closed again.
Aurora Sinclair sat on the chair Alvin Morgan had brought for her, looking at him.
"My Constitution is naturally different from ordinary people. So of my nerves are dozens of tis more developed than a normal person’s. Apothecary Warner said this kind of Constitution can shorten one’s lifespan, so he’s always had on dication to suppress my neural activity. I normally wear weights and use my Power to control my body. But if I beco emotionally unstable and overuse the Power within , my body will lose control..."
Aurora Sinclair stopped there, biting her lip hard as if trying to restrain sothing.
A pang of pain shot through Alvin Morgan’s heart. He stepped forward, pulled her into his arms, and held her head with one hand, comforting her softly, "I’m here..."
Buried in his chest, Aurora Sinclair said in a muffled voice, "After I lose control... I just want to destroy everything..."
’I beco a mindless monster!’

「At the dining table.」
Aurora Sinclair sat quietly at the table, eating porridge.
Across from her, Alvin Morgan propped his head on one hand, his eyes fixed on her.
"Morgan, do you want so?"
"No, thanks." His hand fiddled with an empty bowl on the table as if lost in thought.
"Aurora, is this physical weakness an aftereffect of your condition?"
Aurora Sinclair’s cheeks were puffed out. She nodded.
"How long does it usually last?"
Aurora Sinclair thought for a mont, then swallowed the porridge in her mouth. "The longest it’s ever lasted was over a month."
"Total body weakness?"
"Mhm..."
"Tomorrow, I’ll take you to have Beta Morgan examine you."
Aurora Sinclair’s pupils constricted slightly. She lowered her head and continued eating her porridge without responding.
Alvin Morgan reached out and ruffled her hair. "Don’t be afraid... I won’t let anyone else find out."
But Aurora Sinclair bit her lip and said in a low voice, "I don’t want an examination..."
"Alright, then we won’t do it."
"Do you think I’m a monster?"
Her face remained expressionless, but a deep-seated unease lingered in her eyes.
A faint smile touched Alvin Morgan’s lips. His fingers slid from her hair to her delicate skin, his thumb wiping away a bit of porridge from the corner of her mouth. "Never," he said earnestly. "Aurora, you’re the most wonderful girl I’ve ever t."
’So wonderful I want to snatch you away and treasure you for a lifeti!’

「The next afternoon.」
Alvin Morgan brought Aurora Sinclair to the Kingsford Martial Affairs Bureau to give her statent.
When they arrived, the investigator had just finished taking statents from the other four male students from the archaeology departnt.
When Seth Sterling saw Aurora Sinclair, he excitedly grabbed her arm. "Sinclair, WAAAH... I’m so glad you’re okay! I heard you saved us yesterday and were seriously injured..."
"Seth Sterling, let go, Sinclair is injured—" Danny Archer glanced at Alvin Morgan and forcefully pulled Seth’s hand back.
’My gut tells this guy is bad news!’
"Sinclair, are your injuries any better?" Danny Archer asked, his voice trembling slightly.
Aurora Sinclair nodded.
"That’s good..."
Suddenly, Alvin Morgan took her hand. With a placid expression, he said to Aurora Sinclair, "We should go in." Then he led her straight into the building.
Danny Archer watched their clasped hands and asked miserably, "Did you guys hear that?"
Seth Sterling looked around curiously. "No, what sound?"
"The sound of my heart breaking. SHATTER, SHATTER... into a million pieces..."
Seth Sterling: ...

The room for giving statents wasn’t the interrogation room Aurora Sinclair had been in before, but a small conference room.
A large display screen hung on the wall opposite the conference table, playing the surveillance footage from last night.
Aurora Sinclair watched the two blurry figures locked in combat on the screen and breathed a silent sigh of relief.
Investigator Tyler Alden had been observing Aurora Sinclair’s micro-expressions ever since they entered. He noticed her face remained perfectly calm as she watched the video, and he couldn’t help but frown slightly. ’This girl’s composure is extraordinary.’
"Sinclair, I am Tyler Alden, a Level Three investigator with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kingsford Martial Affairs Bureau. I’ve asked you here today to inquire about the events of last night. Please tell everything you know."
Aurora Sinclair nodded, then gave a rough account of what happened last night.
Tyler Alden asked, "Did nothing out of the ordinary occur?"
Aurora Sinclair glanced at Alvin Morgan, seeming to hesitate. A glint flashed in Tyler Alden’s eyes. "Sinclair, feel free to speak your mind."
"His hair changed color..."
The tip of the pen in Tyler Alden’s hand instantly scratched a line across his notebook. His eyes widened, and he asked excitedly, "You really saw his hair change color?"
Aurora Sinclair gave a slight nod, her hand under the table clenching into a fist. "It was too dark in the room. It just seed like it got a little lighter."
A smile played on Alvin Morgan’s lips as he secretly took her sowhat cold hand under the table.
Tyler Alden pinched the bridge of his nose, spinning the pen in his hand as if contemplating sothing. Then he looked at Aurora Sinclair and asked, "Pardon for asking, but what exactly is your Combat Power?"
Aurora Sinclair shook her head. "I’ve never had it tested."
"Never tested? Then why did your classmate say you were a Great Warrior Ninth Rank?"
Aurora Sinclair glanced at Alvin Morgan again. "Morgan told . I was training in the mountains before and just recently returned to Kingsford."
"I was the one who said it," Alvin Morgan added coolly.
Tyler Alden’s heart tightened. He didn’t dare question Young Lord Morgan’s reasoning. He sized up Aurora Sinclair again, feeling like he was missing sothing, yet her answers were all quite reasonable.
"Sinclair, did Martin Archer say anything to you at the ti?"
Aurora Sinclair thought for a mont. "He said we were little kittens and told us to co out and play with him."
"Anything else?"
"’I’ve found you.’"
"And?"
Aurora Sinclair clutched her abdon. "Then he kicked and sent flying."
Tyler Alden: ...
If the girl hadn’t looked so serious, as if she weren’t joking, he would have thought she was ssing with him.
In the end, seeing that he couldn’t get any more useful information, Tyler Alden called over a subordinate to take Aurora Sinclair for a Combat Power test.
Aurora Sinclair was led to a testing room. The machine inside looked very similar to the one at Tanner Sinclair’s boxing gym.
With Alvin Morgan’s help, she put on the boxing gloves and struck the center of the target with all her might.
After about ten seconds, three lines of text appeared on the adjacent screen:
Strength: 2332
Speed: 0.16s
Congratulations! Your strength has reached Great Martial Master Fifth Rank!

None of the three n in the testing room spoke; they just stared at the display screen in silence.
Tyler Alden was inwardly terrified. ’Is this girl a genius?’
His gaze imdiately shot to Aurora Sinclair, fervent and eager. "Sinclair, where did you study?"
Aurora Sinclair took off the gloves and replied with one word: "Sunstone."
"Sun... Sunstone? Where is that?" Tyler Alden was completely dumbfounded.
At The Martial Affairs Bureau, only investigators of a certain level and above were qualified to know about the higher echelons of The Martial World.
Alvin Morgan said coolly, "Just an ordinary mountain."
