A figure quickly threw on his clothes, his hair a ss, his face grim.
The Power he hadn’t had ti to retract radiated from him, instantly ruining several herb gardens, much to Ronan Warner’s distress.
As he channeled his own Power to defend himself, he stomped his foot. "Master Aerion, my herbs!"
But Master Aerion had already swept out of the courtyard.
"Don’t do anything rash!"
Ronan Warner’s brow furrowed instantly. ’Don’t be fooled by Master Aerion’s usually easygoing deanor. The mont his four treasured disciples were involved, he’d transform into a god of slaughter.’
Many people had died by his hand over the years. Not a single person who had hard Leigh Miles and Titus Miles back then had been left alive.
That was how the secret had been kept. Now, that woman from the Lowell Family was walking straight into the line of fire.

"Master Aerion—"
Just as Ronan Warner rushed out of the courtyard, he saw that Master Aerion had already changed his clothes and was about to descend the mountain.
"You can’t leave now. They’ll be here in two days."
"Just say I’m in seclusion."
"That won’t work. I can’t stop them. Dawn Miles probably knows her own identity."
Master Aerion finally stopped, his brow tightly furrowed as he looked at him. "Dawn Miles knows?"

"What’s all this shouting late at night? Are you trying to keep people from sleeping?" Flora Guthrie erged from her door, yawning.
Master Aerion and Ronan Warner instantly wilted, but Flora Guthrie had already heard their conversation. She shot Ronan Warner a glare, then said gruffly to Master Aerion, "Don’t go down the mountain. I’m returning to Kingsford the day after tomorrow, so I’ll check on Rory and the others for you."
"Returning to Kingsford? Has sothing happened with the Guthrie Family again?"
Master Aerion and Ronan Warner scowled at the re ntion of the Guthrie Family.
The Head of the Guthrie Family was a deeply unpleasant man.
"Reina Guthrie recently obtained a fragnt of an Ancient Martial Inheritance Map. Sothing went wrong during the restoration, so Lana asked to go back and take a look."
A flicker of interest appeared in Master Aerion’s eyes. "What kind of Ancient Martial Inheritance Map?"
"It’s not clear. Reina Guthrie’s security asures are very strict this ti."
"When will you be back?"
"We’ll see."
"You’d better hurry back."
Flora Guthrie shot him a look, rolled her eyes, and turned to leave. As expected, she hadn’t taken two steps before she heard Master Aerion’s shaless voice call out, "This humble Daoist will miss you."

Joyce Guthrie suddenly received a call from her father, Reina Guthrie.
"Joyce, Master Flora Guthrie will be back in two days. This is your chance. You must seize it."
A pleased expression appeared on Joyce Guthrie’s face, and she replied excitedly, "Yes, Father."
But her expression changed instantly at Reina Guthrie’s next words.
"When she gets back, she’ll definitely go see Aurora Sinclair. You need to get close to her in the coming days..."

"My flight lands at 4 PM tomorrow. Leigh said you moved into a bigger house. Do you have room for ?"

Aurora Sinclair imdiately ran out of her room to find Leigh.
A mont later, a cheer was heard from Leigh’s room, and the two of them quickly ran to the spare guest room to start making the bed.
The duplex had a total of four bedrooms, and one of them was conveniently empty.
"What’s all the commotion so early in the morning?" lody Sinclair asked, coming up the stairs while wearing an apron.
Leigh’s eyes were wide with excitent as she replied, "Sinclair, our master’s wife is coming!"
"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH..." lody Sinclair choked, stunned by the news.
’Master’s wife? The Guardian’s wife?’
Leigh added, "Our master’s wife is the one who’s been teaching Aurora traditional Chinese painting."
"Wh... What?"
lody Sinclair just stood there in the doorway, completely stupefied.

Flora Guthrie glanced at her sister and sneered, referring to Reina Guthrie without reservation. "He’s nothing but a buffoon."
Lana Guthrie was speechless.

"Lana, do you want to be the Family Head?" Flora Guthrie asked suddenly.
Lana Guthrie was startled. She stared at her for a long mont, her brow furrowing slightly. "You’re not joking, are you, sis?"
Flora Guthrie gave her an impassive look, then turned to gaze out the window. "It’s ti for so new blood in the Guthrie Family..." she said coolly.
Outside the car window, Kingsford remained as prosperous and peaceful as ever, but hidden behind this facade was a world of unending carnage.
Following the navigation directions from Flora Guthrie, Lana Guthrie’s car pulled up to the entrance of a high-end, secluded residential complex.
"Guess who owns this complex?" Lana Guthrie asked, glancing at the naplate at the entrance.
"Who?"
"The Morgans. A while back, the Morgan Group bought this entire high-end complex from a minor family for triple the market price."
Flora Guthrie was speechless.
’Leigh said they’d moved into a huge house, but the rent was the sa as before.’
’I figured the Morgan Family must have had a hand in it, but I never imagined they’d buy the whole complex.’
’Now that’s what you call a grand gesture!’
Flora Guthrie let out a cold laugh.
Elsewhere, when Reina Guthrie received a report that Flora Guthrie had not gone to the residence he’d prepared, his face turned ashen with rage. "Find out where she’s staying!"
Standing nearby, Joyce Guthrie’s eyes darkened. ’This must have sothing to do with Aurora Sinclair.’
She said with a smile, "Dad, Master Flora Guthrie probably went to stay with her disciple."
"You an at the Sinclair residence?"
"Aurora Sinclair doesn’t live with her family. She lives near Arcadian University."
Reina Guthrie thought for a mont, then called the subordinate who had just left and told him to find Aurora Sinclair’s address.
"Joyce, I’ve added you to the project team. Make sure you seize this opportunity," Reina Guthrie added, glancing at his daughter on the sofa.
Joyce Guthrie agreed with a smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes.
Because of Flora Guthrie’s arrival, Aurora Sinclair skipped her DAF training and ran straight ho after class to welco her.
Flora Guthrie had brought seven or eight suitcases with her, a clear sign that she planned on staying for a while.
"Master Flora..." Titus Miles ca running over on his short little legs, a lollipop in his hand.
Flora Guthrie bent down and kissed his cheek. "Look at you, kiddo. You’ve gotten chubbier."
When she looked up again, her eyes fell on the woman standing nearby. "Daughter of the Lowell’s main branch," she said coolly. "What are you doing here?"
