The frozen wind cut through the devastated field like razors.
Vergil stopped walking, just a few steps from the kneeling werewolf. His eyes glead with final judgnt, sharp as ancestral blades. Each step he took made the ground creak, as if the very world feared his presence. The air around him boiled with infernal electricity, sparking between shattered stones and dead trees — as if the universe itself was about to tear from top to bottom.
"I'm going to beat you until your life stops making sense."
That was the mont everything changed.
The ground beneath Vergil's feet trembled — not like a warning, but like the earth itself screaming.
A second later, the punch exploded against his abdon.
"GHUUAAAGHH!!"
The sound was grotesque. Dry. Carnal.
Vergil was launched like a cannonball, tearing through the air as blood poured from his mouth — along with entrails, intestines, and chunks of organs, spat out as if his body had given up trying to keep his soul inside.
The impact had torn a hole clean through his stomach.
His body spun violently in the air, leaving behind a trail of blood and hot vapor before crashing into a rocky formation. The stone shattered into a thousand pieces, collapsing under the brutal impact.
Silence.
For a mont, everything stopped.
Then he rose.
The werewolf.
Once kneeling, mutilated, on the verge of collapse. Now standing — solid as a wild, untad mountain.
His eyes glowed with a deep, ancient violet. There was no more pain. No blind rage. Only power. And purpose.
His voice ca out hoarse, deep, laced with sothing primordial.
"You thought... I was just a little rat, didn't you?"
Muscles expanded. Bones rearranged with thunderous cracks. The once-severed arm was rebuilt before the eyes of the world, forged from pure life-force — roots, fibers, living wood and pulsing flesh — a regeneration that felt both organic and sacred.
There was no decay. Only rebirth.
From his skin, hot steam escaped like the breath of a forest after a storm. The scorched grass beneath his feet ca back to life. Wildflowers burst from cracks in the earth. Branches sprouted from his back, like thorns of an arboreal beast.
He was nature in the form of fury.
"My na... is Alex Wykes. General of the Wild Nature. Son of the Storm. Enforcer of Spectre."
The sky responded as if it recognized the na.
Black clouds erged from nothing, dancing in living spirals. It wasn't empty darkness — it was a living storm, pulsing with thunder like the heartbeat of the planet itself.
The world around him bowed.
The distant trees leaned. The wind stopped — then roared back with titanic force, as if the forests themselves were breathing with Alex.
His aura expanded like the roar of a long-forgotten beast.
The air grew dense, vibrant. Every breath seed to draw in leaves, pollen, and energy from the Earth itself. Breathing hurt — not because of poison, but because it was too natural for corrupted bodies to endure.
"You know, kid…" he said, rolling his shoulders as vines unraveled from the muscles on his arms, "...it's nothing personal."
A faint smile cut across his lips. "But I'm getting a bonus for killing you."
In that instant, green lightning slashed the sky, followed by thunder that sounded like ancestral war drums.
And then Alex walked.
With each step, flowers blood. Rocks cracked. The ground itself trembled — not from fear, but from respect.
From the depths of the smoldering crater, where the impact had shattered stone into shards and pulverized the earth into dust, a sound began to echo — faint at first, but growing louder.
"Heh..." "Hehehe…" "HAHAHAHAHA!"
The laughter echoed like an open wound in reality, vibrating against the cliffs, reverberating through distant mountains like the call of sothing insane — sothing abnormal.
Vergil coughed up blood, spitting out a crimson-stained piece of tooth. His arms trembled as he knelt among the wreckage caused by Alex, and as he looked down, he stared at his spilled entrails with a calm that was almost absurd.
His stomach convulsed, pulsing out of control — a mass of living flesh struggling to understand why it was still there, laid out like a torn-open sausage. But Vergil showed no pain. He just laughed again.
With blood- and mud-covered hands, he began shoving his own organs back into his body with the ease of soone pocketing a forgotten trinket. No hesitation. Not even for a second.
His eyes shook.
Not from fear. Not from rage. From pure excitent.
Regeneration took over. Bones reconnected with dry cracks. Muscles wove together like living cords. Skin closed up in a grotesque, srizing dance. Within seconds, Vergil was standing. Whole. Ready. Laughing like a lunatic in love.
"So…" he muttered, a dented smile forming as lightning streaked across the sky behind his silhouette,"Finally, soone interesting…"
The world shuddered.
Alex took a step forward, ready to respond — but sothing made him stop. A chill ran through every hair on his lupine body. It was instinct.Pure, primal, brutal survival instinct.
Vergil had moved.
But there was no sound.
No transition.
One second he was at the bottom of the crater... and the next, he was right in front of Alex.
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
The laughter was so unbearably wild that the clouds above — the ones filled with thunder and lightning — split apart in desperation, pushed back by the sheer insanity exploding from Vergil like celestial fury.
"CO AT , MOTHERFUCKER!"
He roared, eyes wide open, face sared with blood, smiling with a pleasure that bordered on the sexual — drunk on the violence to co.
Alex's eyes widened.
"This guy... he's a lunatic."
But there was no ti for anything else.
One strike.
Simple. Direct.
But with force enough to shatter the world.
Alex instinctively crossed his arms to block — and that saved his life.
But the cost was high.
BOTH ARMS SHATTERED INSTANTLY.
The impact hurled Alex like an inverted cot, his body slicing through the air as trees were blown away around him like twigs. He smashed into the ground dozens of ters away, carving a fresh crater, earth exploding in every direction like natural dynamite.
Silence.
Until... leaves began to swirl around Alex.
Winds danced.
Roots rose.
Nature itself responded.
The body of the General of Wild Nature began to reconstruct with the sa ferocity that had just destroyed it. Cracked bones healed like branches growing under spring's command. Skin closed up with the golden glow of ancient sap. He stood, panting, but smiling.
"You are... absolutely insane."
Alex's voice now carried more weight, as if each word bore the burden of a thousand ancient forests.
Vergil simply cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders like he was still warming up.
"You have no idea…"
"You think I'm mad because I smile through pain?"
He lifted his bloodied hand, staring at it the way a sculptor admires his masterpiece.
"I am chaos itself, trying to understand what order even ans."
"You have nature, Wykes?"
"I'm the thing that breaks nature just to see how it pulls itself back together."
And then he stepped forward.
The ground cracked.
Another step.
The air scread.
Alex braced himself, feeling the living world around him trying to keep up. Birds had fled. Animals were either in ecstasy or panic. The forest watched. The storm waited.
"Let's dance, walking tree.""Show if that natural strength of yours can go toe-to-toe with my personal hell!"
A bolt of lightning exploded in the skies above.
It didn't fall.It rose.
Such was the reversal of order these two provoked with their re presence. And before the echo even faded… they collided.
Vergil struck first — a blur, a roar, a delirium in motion. His feet barely touched the ground; the pressure of his steps left shallow craters, the earth crying out under his montum. Every punch he threw at Alex carried the force of a missile, and each impact cleared entire patches of forest instantly.
Alex fell back. But not in desperation. He flowed.
Each blocked hit, every dodge, was followed by a brutal ballet of his natural energy. When Vergil's fist tore through the air — Alex countered with a kick adorned by thorns sprouting along his leg like the roots of a carnivorous tree.
CLANG!The sound of their clash was like thunder slamming against iron pots.CRACK!Vergil's jaw was dislocated by a punch that ca wrapped in a whirlwind of razor-sharp petals.
He laughed — even with his mouth hanging to the side.
"NOW WE'RE TALKING, MOTHERFUCKER!"
Vergil spun and delivered an elbow to Alex's chin with such force that the air around them exploded like a ruptured vacuum. The werewolf's body was sent flying, slamming into the trunk of an ancient tree that shattered like a twig.
But its roots caught Alex midair, holding him, and flung him back into the fight.
"I'M NOT DONE YET!" roared Alex, his eyes glowing a wild violet.
He landed like a cot, one fist covered in hardened moss and crystalline thorns driving straight toward Vergil. The punch hit the ground — a burst of flowers and stones erupted in fury, creating a field of spikes attempting to trap Vergil from all sides.
Vergil grinned."POETRY!"
With a burst of crimson energy, he spun in place, unleashing a spiral of slashes and impacts. Every movent was dancing brutality, shredding the spikes into fragnts, burning the roots with the sheer heat of his insane presence.
"You're a forest, huh?" Vergil said, charging like a beast through the trees."Then I'll be the wildfire that turns everything to ash."
Alex stomped the ground — two pillars of stone and vine erupted, trying to crush Vergil in a titanic embrace. But the lunatic dove between them headfirst, arms wide open, laughing like he was on a rollercoaster.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
One punch.To the chest.From above.
The impact was so powerful the surrounding forest simply went silent.
Alex dropped to his knees, coughing up green blood, his skin regenerating in real ti with an intensity bordering on divine. But Vergil didn't stop.
He jumped.Spun mid-air.
A barrage of falling kicks, each more brutal than the last, like hamr blows from a drunken god.Alex crossed his arms, pushed back, crushed, driven into the earth for dozens of ters.
The forest roared in despair.
Then — everything stopped.
Smoke. Dust. Silence.
Vergil landed on the ground, his breath ragged, muscles twitching with adrenaline. His eyes were wide. Bloodstained. Glowing with euphoria.
"This… this is what I call LIFE!"
From the deep crater where he had been smashed, Alex slowly rose.
His skin was torn. His face was bleeding. But the nature around him… mourned for him.And when he took his first step out, the forest answered.
Vines danced in the air. Birds returned like ghostly warriors.Silver stags erged around him. A giant eagle perched upon a rock, silently watching.
"I'm part of sothing far greater, Vergil…" Alex spoke with reverence, as roots wove themselves around his arms, forming new living blades."You fight for pleasure. I… for purpose."
"Wrong," Vergil grinned."I fight because it's the only thing I know how to do."
They stared each other down.
Living nature against destructive madness.
And then—
They exploded into each other.
