Chapter 189

Sothing was strange. Sothing was going on in this house, or maybe it was related to the royal castle. The information I got from Redford was related to the queen, and I was currently being dragged to the royal banquet.

I was under the impression that Carlson was on the queen’s side, the one that didn’t want to erase commoners, but maybe he was on the pureblooded side. Or maybe, he wasn’t on any side but his own.

The possibilities were endless because each possibility opened up three more possibilities, which then opened up more.

And then there was this sexy GILF. As much as I was into GILFs, I was more into living, so perhaps being on guard against her just as I was doing so against Carlson wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

“I have already silenced Catherine. There was so resistance, but… Well, everything has a solution.” Elara said, disregarding the speed thinking I was doing in my mind.

It wasn’t that she didn’t know that the gears in my mind were turning at full swing. She knew full well that I was calculating everything. She just didn’t care.

She continued, “So, aside from Catherine. Tell who else needs to be shut up? Who have you perford this empowernt with, except for my daughter and Catherine, and the people I know of?”

I finally found my voice and stopped thinking, replying in a clear voice, “Lady Zara, Lady Catherine, Young Lady Cassandra, Lady Valeria, Lady Mira, and the won of my family. And my brother, Lucas, witnessed what I did last night.”

Maybe playing with Lucas was not a very bright idea. But there was no use regretting it right now. It wouldn’t matter since I couldn’t turn back ti. What’s happened has happened. What I needed to focus on was what needed to be done.

“Your brother? Would he be a problem?” Elara asked.

“I assu so.” I said, “He misunderstood Lady Cassandra’s state as a state of humiliation.”

“Hmm… True indeed. I have seen Valeria and Mira engaged with you, and it can be easily misunderstood.” Elara replied while thinking profoundly.

But maybe her line of thinking wasn’t the sa as mine.

What I put Cassandra through was indeed humiliation, and although Lucas got angry at the wrong thing, at least the cusp was the sa. He thought I degraded Cassandra; the thod didn’t matter, and he didn’t like that.

He only swallowed it all because of Zara, and maybe seeing Cassandra crumble also dealt a good blow to him, but there was no guarantee that if, a very minuscule if, but if indeed Carlson looked for him, and got this information from him, it could be bad.

In the first place, I didn’t even know what Carlson was being wary of. He had seen the full extent of my abilities, although they were only what I chose to show him, and a long ti ago, and they had evolved since.

But still, he knew the base effect of my ability already. Why would he try to find out more? Was it to keep in check? Or was it to find out the full extent of my abilities, in which case, he didn’t trust enough.

Well, he didn’t trust at all in a sense, so maybe that was why. But that didn’t make any sense. There was sothing else at play here, but I couldn’t tell what.

I needed information, but being who I was, and weak on top of that, asking a question from a noble so strong would be akin to asking for death. Better not, and let things play out.

“I shall handle your brother. A simple mind spell should help. For now, stand over there. My husband is making his way here.” Elara said, pointing to a corner of the room with a regal and graceful authority.

I didn’t bother arguing and did as she asked. I didn’t know how she was going to hide from her husband, in which case, sending here would be useless. But…

She pointed her hand at and an intricate green circle ford at her hand. Nine circles intertwined with such precision that even I was blown away.

But of course, it wasn’t because it was a circle I couldn’t have imagined, or it was highly advanced. It was a normal circle I could decrypt in an instant.

What surprised was the spell.

[Illusion has been cast on you]

[Unless you move out of a one-ter radius, your presence has been completely erased along with your five senses]

It was the spell that was used. The structure of the spell was an illusory spell, but the function was stealth. But stealth was a physical ability, and illusion was a magical one. Not to ntion, it was a ninth-circle spell.

No one would cast such a basic skill using nine circles. Only two reasons why soone would do that.

Either they had mana so much it was as vast as an ocean, or they had decrypted and combined the effects of the physical and the magical class, birthing a new magic that was deed a ninth circle.

As I had seen, Elara was not only a magician but also a physical warrior. Her buff body gave the presumption that she was a warrior class. But only one who had such a deep knowledge of the assassin class could analyze stealth on such a deep level.

Now, either she was a magical assassin or, defying all possibilities, she had three classes. Warrior, mage, and an assassin.

It was almost mind-boggling. Even I, as a person who had lived many lives, could never go for more than two classes, even when I was in a talented body. It was only thanks to the system that I could use skills of different classes, but even then, the original class of my possessed body would still be two or less.

Never three.

If she were, then that ant she was at a level I could never even dream of.

If not with the system’s help, defeating her would be a pipe dream.

I an, she had created a spell that even I never thought of. Who knew what else she had in that arsenal of hers?

The door to the room opened without any announcent while I recovered from my surprise.

Three knights entered, all male, all at the S- rank, all aura masters.

Their presence was enough to even give a headache.

A man followed them in, with his hands clasped behind his back. He walked into the room with authority dripping in his steps.

He entered and walked to the middle of the room until he was standing before Elara, where I was just now, and looked at her with a deep gaze before he uttered only one word…

“Wife.”

“Husband.”

Elara corresponded with only one word as well. They both stared at each other for a long ti, Valeria standing to the side with the sa stoic expression on her face as always, while the knights stood behind Carlson with full armor, even covering their faces.

“I heard you took the liberty of moving to the western wing. I was unaware of this fact. Only Catherine and Lira were supposed to co.” Carlson said, taking an unfamiliar na, but it must have been the other woman who was to co with Catherine. One of the two won Carlson ntioned, but it seed like Elara took that spot.

“Yes. It was ntioned.” Elara replied, not bothering to explain herself.

“We had an agreent. You will not interfere in my matters, and I will do the sa with yours. Have you forgotten already?” Carlson asked, with slight anger in his voice, but he was clearly containing it.

“Of course, we did have an accord. But when you make such a big change in the castle, you don’t expect not to get curious, do you?” Elara retorted.

“…”

Carlson remained silent. They both stared at each other once again, for quite a while, before Carlson’s gaze shifted to Valeria, examining her with a keen gaze, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t put a finger on what had changed.

Now that I thought about it, I also didn’t notice it before. Wasn’t she supposed to have black streaks in her hair because of her awakening? Why was all silver again?

I was too focused on her ass to notice, but I couldn’t sense any mana from her either.

That ass was dangerous.

No sign of Mira as well. That only ant one thing. Elara had hidden the traces of their awakening. And not just that, she had hidden the very traces of our eting. If she were to deny eting , it would stand true. Only that rude maid was an exception, since she led here once, but maybe she was Elara’s pawn too.

I couldn’t tell for sure, but Elara was ticulous beyond belief. Even I was impressed. And that wasn’t an easy task.
