He started walking toward the village. He wanted to gather so information from them.
Just as he was about to walk down, he saw so young boys and girls playing there.
"Let’s play being magus."
"Yes, yes. I want to beco the Ice Magus Vorden."
"I am Fla Magus Ragna."
"No, I want to beco Vorden," a little girl pouted.
"But you are a girl, you should beco Light Magus Sarah."
"Alright," she said, but she was still pouting.
Ethan went to them.
"Hey kiddos, what are you playing?" Ethan asked them with a smile.
The kids beca alert.
"Excuse mister. Who are you?" the eldest boy asked with caution.
"I am a traveler. Lost my path and found you playing here. So I ca to ask for directions."
The kids lowered their guards a little.
"But we do not know the way out. If you want, you can go and ask our elders in the village," the kid said again.
"Okay, thank you. May I ask another question?" Ethan said with a smile.
"What is it?"
"Earlier I saw you playing magus. Do you know what a magus is?"
The kids beca proud imdiately.
"Of course we know. Maguses were the gods who walked among mortals thousands of years ago."
"So there are not any maguses anymore?" Ethan asked again.
"Of course not. The word mana vanished thousands of years ago and all the maguses also vanished with them," the boy said again.
"You are so big mister, but you do not have this basic knowledge?" the little girl asked with suspicion in her voice.
"I lived far away. And there we are not privy to such knowledge. Thank you little ones for your generous ti. You can have these fruits from my holand."
Ethan gave them so lifespan-increasing apples.
They would gain 200 years of lifespan even if they did not beco a magus in their life.
"Thank you mister." They took the apples happily.
After that, Ethan went to the village to ask the elders if they knew anything.
In the village,
Ethan saw that the village was a very flourishing one.
People were happy, and the atmosphere was good too.
"May I know where I can find the village chief?" Ethan asked a vendor who was selling vegetables.
"Who are you? Never saw you before," the vendor asked suspiciously.
Ethan took out a silver coin and all the suspicion vanished into thin air.
"Hehe. Of course sir. The chief lives in that direction," the vendor imdiately gave him the location.
Ethan went to the chief imdiately. As soon as he went there, he saw a middle-aged man watering so flower plants.
Ethan could not help but smile. This man was not a simple man. He had the aura of a powerhouse, at least a Tier 2 level powerhouse, which was similar to a Star Level being.
"Hello village chief," Ethan greeted him.
"Hello. May I know who you are?" the chief asked calmly.
"Chief, I will not beat around the bush. I am a researcher who is traveling around the world to find out why the mana of the world suddenly died down. Do you know sothing?"
The chief did not answer.
"Sorry, I do not know anything."
Ethan observed his reaction. The man was terrified for so reason.
Ethan could not help but sigh. Surely there was sothing here that could make him react like that.
Ethan released so aura and the chief imdiately fell to his knees.
"Please forgive my lord. I did not know who you are," he said with horror.
"Alright, I do not want to harm you. Tell what you know. How many factions are there in the world?"
After calming down, the chief gave him the details.
There was now only one faction that controlled all the power in the world.
The mana did not completely die down but beca very thin.
However, there were still so places where mana was very thick. So once in a blue moon, a magus would appear in the world and that faction would force them to surrender to them.
Anyone who dared to refuse would vanish from the world.
Ethan now knew where he needed to find information.
Ethan took the location of the headquarters of the organisation. No one knew its na but all the maguses knew its existence.
The chief could not give any proper information about the location, but he gave an idea that if Ethan showed his magical power in a city, they would show up on their own.
After that he went to the capital of the kingdom.
The capital was huge.
Ethan dressed like a proper noble and went to a restaurant.
After eating properly he did not pay any money. Instead he showed wind magic and threatened that if the owner dared to ask for money, he would destroy the restaurant.
Instantly the owner acted terrified but there was a cold look on his face.
Ethan chose this restaurant because he saw that the owner was a Tier 5 level being.
So he knew that this owner was surely connected with them.
Because soone like him should not be here if he did not have any proper background.
After that, Ethan booked an inn.
He knew that tonight he would have so visitors.
Ethan could have gone to the higher realm but he started from the lower one because normally the villains would always target the lower realm for so twisted reason.
At night, Ethan was having so snacks when he heard a knock on his door.
He smiled because right now, five people were standing there and all of them were Tier 5 or above.
Even the owner of that restaurant was also there.
Ethan opened the door and imdiately raged at the restaurant owner.
"Huh? You ca with so puny hooligans to threaten ? I will crush you bastard. I was lenient toward you this morning, you seem to not understand what is good for you."
But this ti there was no fear in the owner’s eyes, only coldness.
"If he dares to refuse, I want to torture him myself," he said to his comrades.
"We are from the Golden Dawn organisation. You have two options. Join us or die," the leader said calmly.
"Of course I want to join. I was even searching for you but could not find you." Then he looked at the owner of the restaurant. "Do not tell this grumpy old geezer is also a magus. What a disgrace."
The representatives of the organisation beca dumbfounded. They thought this boy would deny because of his unsubmissive behaviour.
Now things beca a little problematic. If a magus wanted to join, they could not harm him or her. It was a direct order from the organisation.
"Bastard, I challenge you to a duel. If you lose, you will have to beco my slave," the restaurant owner roared.
Because a mber could challenge another mber if they had a conflict.
"Jay calm down. We need to complete the process first," the leader said and took out a banner.
"Drop your blood on the banner and you will beco one of ours."
Ethan checked the banner with his fourth dinsional eye.
This banner had a unique pattern behind it. It was an evil treasure, that was for sure.
And its function was to capture one’s soul and make him a slave.
Ethan did not take a risk. He did not know the level of this treasure. So he simply created a droplet of blood and created a portion of the soul of a space monster he had fought earlier but had not killed.
Boom. The banner lit up and then died down.
It got its necessary ingredient and it enslaved that space monster.
"Alright then, you are now a slave of the Golden Dawn organisation. Now you need to accept his challenge," the leader said domineeringly.
Ethan’s eyes turned cold. Who do you think you are to order around?
Boom.
He punched the leader and the leader flew away like a ragdoll, bounced six tis on the ground and fainted.
And at that ti everyone knew they did not get a rookie this ti but a master.
But Jay still attacked him. He could not swallow that humiliation.
Ethan snorted coldly and slamd him on the ground too.
He wanted to attract the attention of the true leaders.
Not these puny ones.
"Let us go. They need treatnt."
He ordered the remaining three.
They were still in a daze.
"Yes sir."
After that, they tore open a paper and a portal appeared.
"Please sir follow us."
With that he entered the portal.
They appeared in a vast world of greenery.
"This is the outer periter of the Golden Dawn headquarter. If you can break through to Tier 10, you will be able to move inside."
Ethan released his aura which definitely surpassed Tier 10.
"Sorry my lord, we did not know your power level and we were rude to you. I will contact the emissary. He will take you inside."
