Soon, they arrived at the Dark Alliance headquarters. The entire fortress felt unusually tense. The alliance had lost its true leader years ago, and ever since then, the organization had been ruled by a council of generals. Each of them was powerful, with levels ranging from 135 to 140, and they were considered terrifying figures across the continent. However, at this mont, none of them looked calm. They were all gathered inside the main hall, and every face carried the sa expression of unease.

When Veldanava stepped inside, the temperature of the room seed to drop. No visible pressure was released, yet everyone felt as if sothing incomprehensible had entered their domain. Their instincts scread at them. Even the strongest among them felt as if their lives were hanging by a thin thread.

Veldanava slowly looked around the hall. His gaze passed over each general, and none of them dared to et his eyes. The silence stretched, and the generals felt it pressing down on their chests.

"Who is your leader?" he asked.

His tone was calm, but the question carried an undeniable authority. He did not sound like soone asking for information. He sounded like soone evaluating subordinates.

Veldanava wanted to take control of the alliance. He needed information quickly, and searching every individual across the continent would waste too much ti. If he controlled the Dark Alliance, he would gain access to spies, informants, and intelligence networks that already covered most regions.

One of the generals stepped forward. His na was Vorax, and despite his level being close to 140, his back was slightly bent. He did not even realize when sweat had started forming on his forehead.

"Sir, we are the generals of the alliance. There is no single leader," Vorax said carefully.

Veldanava nodded once.

"Okay. From now on, you have a leader. I have important tasks for you," he said.

The statent was simple, but it froze everyone in place. None of them dared to oppose him. They could feel death from this being. It was not just fear. It was a certainty. An aura of annihilation seed to surround him, and even standing in his presence felt like standing near a collapsing star.

"Yes, sir. We are at your service," they all bowed.

"I am looking for soone who has recently reached a major level and awakened a powerful talent. You will prepare a list of every individual on the continent who fits this condition," he said.

The generals imdiately looked at each other. Their expressions turned pale.

"Sir, we can check the masses, but the powerful clans and alliances have backers we cannot fight," one of the generals said hesitantly.

"You check the masses. Leave those clans to . Now tell sothing else. Have you faced any anomalous situation recently? The talent he awakened is supre level, so he should have extrely high potential. Is there anyone like that in your target list?" Veldanava asked.

The generals fell into deep thought. They started recalling every unusual event that had happened recently. Many nas ca to their minds, but none matched the description. One general rembered soone, but he imdiately dismissed the thought.

He thought about Ethan. However, Ethan was just level one at this ti. There was no way soone could jump multiple levels in a single day. Even monsters could not do that. The idea itself sounded ridiculous.

Still, they had considered killing Ethan because they believed he might beco an anomaly in the future. His existence had made them uneasy, even though his level was extrely low.

After a mont of hesitation, one of the generals spoke.

"Sir, we know an anomalous being, but he is only level one or two," he muttered.

"Oh? Tell more," Veldanava said with slight curiosity.

"Even though he is level one, he used minor teleportation without using a treasure," the general replied.

Veldanava’s eyes narrowed slightly. That was unusual, but it was still not enough.

"Where is he now?" Veldanava asked.

They quickly explained that Ethan was currently being protected by the founder of a clan. That made things slightly more interesting, but it still did not fully match what he was searching for.

"He is indeed unusual, but he is not my main target. I will et him later. Now go and start your job," Veldanava ordered.

The generals imdiately bowed and left the hall. No one dared to waste even a second.

...

Inside the Space Cube, Ethan had just reached level 30. The energy around him stabilized slowly, and then a new notification appeared in front of him.

[You have gained a new talent.]

[Absolute Veil: Your true power cannot be detected, analyzed, or perceived by any being, system, or law within Elysium. You appear exactly as you wish to appear to any form of scrutiny. This effect is absolute.]

Ethan read the description twice. His eyes lit up.

This talent allowed him to completely hide his presence. No matter how powerful soone was, they would only see what he wanted them to see. Even systems and laws could not analyze him. It was an absolute concealnt.

"Good. I need to be careful around the founder as well," Ethan nodded in satisfaction.

He understood the importance of this talent. There were too many powerful beings watching the continent. If anyone noticed his abnormal growth, he would imdiately beco a target. With Absolute Veil, he could grow safely.

...

On the trial world, Max returned to his family mansion. His face looked serious. He walked straight into the main hall where his father was sitting.

"I t soone who might help ," Max said.

"What did you say? A nobody who cannot even beco a gene warrior is giving you hope?" his father roared.

He could see that his son was slowly dying. He had already accepted this cruel fate, but now this sudden hope felt dangerous. False hope would only hurt more.

Max imdiately knelt down.

"Father, we have tried many things. Why not give him a chance?" he said.

His father clenched his fists. He wanted to refuse, but he also knew that they had run out of options.

At that mont, the door opened. An old man entered the room. His presence imdiately silenced everything.

"God has given my family a lot, but he has also put us through an impossible trial. Go and bring those ingredients to him. If he fails, we will lose so money. If he succeeds, we will owe him our legacy," the old man said calmly.

"Grandpa."

"Father."

Both of them bowed.

"Thank you, grandpa," Max said gratefully before leaving.

His father still looked uncertain.

"But father..."

"Go. Send soone to check the situation," the old man replied.

He was not taking a blind risk. He simply understood that sotis miracles ca from unexpected places.

...

The next day, Max arrived with the ingredients. He handed them to Ethan carefully.

"I am trusting you, Ethan," he said.

Ethan looked at him and nodded calmly.

"Do not worry," he replied.

He then entered the room. He wanted to strengthen the five people who had helped him find clues about his other family mbers. This was both repaynt and preparation.
