When Huo Wenshan was brought to the prison gate, he still looked bewildered, not knowing what was happening. But when he saw the mayor, Xiao Zheng, and the manager kneeling on the ground, his expression changed.
"Why bring here?" Huo Wenshan asked, pretending to be calm.
"You’re still pretending! How did Xiao Zheng end up in prison?" Leng Ruobing asked with a cold smile.
"How would I know?" Huo Wenshan feigned confusion and said, "I admit Xiao Zheng and I have so grievances, but so what? That alone isn’t enough for to put Xiao Zheng in prison, and besides, I work at the public security bureau, I don’t even have that authority, right?"
"You don’t have that authority, but the manager does. You could have the manager help you," Xiao Zheng said with a smile.
"Xiao Zheng, I warn you not to speak recklessly. This is slander, do you know that?" Huo Wenshan’s face changed, and he shouted.
Xiao Zheng chuckled, looked at the manager kneeling on the ground, and asked, "You tell us, what’s really going on?"
The manager raised his head, instinctively glancing at Huo Wenshan, only to receive a harsh glare from him.
In fact, the manager knew that if he confessed, he’d be finished. But even if he didn’t confess now, his cris were still considerable.

Not long after, Gangzi and Lei Gang were brought out together.
Gangzi recounted his ordeal. Huo Wenshan stood by, pale-faced, too weary to even bother explaining.

If he hadn’t targeted Xiao Zheng, hadn’t put Xiao Zheng in prison, hadn’t sent Gangzi to deal with Xiao Zheng, perhaps things wouldn’t have reached this point.
As the saying goes, self-inflicted suffering cannot be lived through. That’s exactly the case with Huo Wenshan now.
