Luckily, Leng Ruobing showed up again at dinner ti in the evening.
She had to co out; she was hungry. She hadn’t eaten properly at lunch because she was upset with Xiao Zheng. Now she was ravenous and had no choice but to co out.
Seeing Xiao Zheng sitting on the sofa watching TV, Leng Ruobing snorted coldly and, ignoring him, went straight into the kitchen to cook.
Just as the al was about to be ready, suddenly a person walked into the villa.
The person walked in with a face seemingly as perfect as a porcelain doll, and a body that wasn’t quite mature yet, with a hint of youthfulness. Dressed in casual clothes, they looked relaxed and joyful.
"Xiao Ran, why did you co back?" Xiao Zheng greeted with a smile.
As soon as Chu Xiaoran entered, she heard Xiao Zheng’s voice and her face lit up with joy, as she threw herself onto the sofa. Luckily Xiao Zheng was quick-eyed and did not let her land on him.
Upon hearing the commotion outside, Leng Ruobing also ca out to have a look. Seeing that it was Chu Xiaoran, she nodded and said, "Xiao Ran, since you’re back, stay here for dinner. I’m cooking right now."
"Sure," Chu Xiaoran agreed readily, rubbing her belly and saying, "I was getting hungry."
Soon, the al was ready. Xiao Zheng sat at one end, and Leng Ruobing deliberately seed to sit far away at the other end.
Naturally, Chu Xiaoran sat in the middle.
She turned her head to look at Xiao Zheng, then turned to look at Leng Ruobing, sowhat puzzled by what was going on between the two of them.
At first, she didn’t think much of it, but as ti went on, she noticed that the two of them hadn’t exchanged a word during the al.
Leng Ruobing, naturally, was infuriated at the sight of Xiao Zheng, while Xiao Zheng had no idea how to explain things so that Leng Ruobing could get back to normal, so he decided to remain silent and wait until she cald down.
Just when Leng Ruobing’s gaze glanced over Xiao Zheng and she snorted again, Chu Xiaoran finally couldn’t hold back.
"What’s up with you two?" Chu Xiaoran asked curiously.
Xiao Zheng looked awkwardly at Chu Xiaoran, then at Leng Ruobing, not knowing what to say.
Leng Ruobing let out a cold laugh and thought to herself, "Heh... what, too embarrassed to speak?"
Even though that’s what she thought, she didn’t show it on her face, and simply said, "Nothing, just eat your al."
After she spoke, she put so food into Chu Xiaoran’s bowl.
"But you guys really seem off, didn’t you have another argunt?" Chu Xiaoran asked.
Xiao Zheng still didn’t say anything, which made Leng Ruobing even angrier, thinking how she was obviously so upset, yet he seed to act like nothing happened.
Since Xiao Zheng wasn’t willing to concede, Leng Ruobing wasn’t going to back down first, so she simply decided not to speak.
But Xiao Zheng, while eating the delicious food, started to feel a little bad.
After all, today’s problem started because of him, and despite Leng Ruobing being angry, she still prepared a al for him. His behavior might have co off as quite unmanly.
Thinking this, he gritted his teeth and moved his chair closer to Leng Ruobing.
Leng Ruobing, seeing Xiao Zheng’s movent, almost instinctively wanted to move away but restrained herself.
Xiao Zheng moved cheekily closer to Leng Ruobing and asked, "Mr. Leng, how’s the food?"
"I cooked it. How could it be bad?" Leng Ruobing raised an eyebrow and said.
"Oh, right, right, hehe..." Xiao Zheng awkwardly rubbed his hands, picked up his chopsticks and looked at the food before him, finally mustering the courage to pick up a piece of chicken.
"Mr. Leng, you worked hard cooking, have so chicken."
This was fine enough, but just as he finished speaking and was about to put it into Leng Ruobing’s bowl, Chu Xiaoran suddenly burst into laughter, spitting out her rice.
"Chu Xiaoran, what are you doing?!" Leng Ruobing asked with wide eyes.
"Sorry, I simply couldn’t help it... eat so... chicken... haha..." Chu Xiaoran laughed uncontrollably, her whole body shaking.
Leng Ruobing hadn’t thought much of it at first, but after hearing Chu Xiaoran’s words, she pondered and got even angrier.
Poor Xiao Zheng, with his chopsticks still holding the chicken, was about to put it in Leng Ruobing’s bowl when she forcefully knocked it away.
"Take it away! Even now you’re playing gas with . Are you... are you..." Leng Ruobing initially wanted to curse, but due to her high education since childhood, she couldn’t bring herself to say a dirty word at a crucial mont.
Xiao Zheng sighed heavily, thinking to himself how Leng Ruobing’s expression seed to have softened a bit just now, but was reset to square one due to Chu Xiaoran.
"Chu Xiaoran, are you not hungry?" Xiao Zheng asked helplessly.
"Who said I wasn’t hungry? I am hungry." Chu Xiaoran quickly stopped laughing, her face flushed.
"If you’re hungry, eat your food, can’t even eating keep your mouth shut?" Xiao Zheng said helplessly.
Who knew it would’ve been better not to speak at all, his remark only made Chu Xiaoran burst into laughter again.
"Xiao Zheng, you shaless scoundrel, what are you looking at?" Leng Ruobing shouted, holding her chest with one hand.
"Tsk, didn’t you tell to look?" Xiao Zheng said innocently.
In this al, at last the awkward atmosphere was eased a little, but amidst the laughter and chatter, Xiao Zheng felt a strange sensation.
It felt as if sothing was staring at him, but it didn’t seem like human eyes; what was it then?
He turned his head, puzzled, and scanned the surroundings, suddenly spotting sothing peculiar.
