Chapter 141

Julie’s Point of View

I couldn’t believe I had actually done it; I felt the recoil of the strike in my knuckles a delicious pain that fed a resentnt I had suppressed for years.

Max’s brutal training hadn’t gone to waste, but rage was the true engine, that adrenaline making my fist harder than iron.

Stuart looked at , wiping a thread of blood from his lip, his features a blur of shock and brokenness: "Are you striking your own father?"

He didn’t dare retaliate, not because of , but because Robert stood behind him like the shadow of death, his hand gripping his piece, his eyes tracking Stuart’s every twitch.

I spoke in a coldness that made the office walls feel like they were vibrating: "My father? You rembered you were my father just now?"

He muttered in a wavering voice: "I’m still your father, Julie..."

I let out a bitter, mocking laugh, feeling a strange power surging through : "Just a sperm that fertilized my mother’s egg... that’s all that makes you my biological father. But in reality? You were never a father to ."

He kept staring at as if searching for the weak Julie the girl who used to cry and beg for his affection but he found only that girl’s corpse. I said in a commanding tone: "Now get out of here... and don’t co back."

He walked away with a bowed head, his heavy steps retreating from the office like a man defeated in a war he never expected to fight. I waited to collapse, for my body to tremble or for a single tear to escape, but I remained as steady as a rock; the old Julie was truly dead.

Robert approached , his tall fra leaning toward as he asked in a tone stripped of its usual chill: "Are you okay?"

I answered curtly: "Yes."

He said, inspecting my face with curiosity: "I didn’t know you could punch that hard."

My body stiffened for a second; I was terrified he’d link it to Max. I tried to mask my tension: "It was just rage... I felt the adrenaline."

He nodded slowly, his eyes narrowing with a suspicion that hadn’t quite vanished: "You surprised ... I thought you wanted to leave this place."

I said with a cutting honesty: "I do, but not with him."

He looked at strangely, as if his next question was a trap: "Do you have soone specific in mind?"

At that mont, the threads began to tangle in my mind. I rembered Carlos’s morning confession, his strange promise to get out, and then the violent brawl between him and Robert. Was it all a play? Did Robert want to lure into a new trap like Sarah did? I decided to play my part in this filthy ga.

I mustered my courage and fixed my gaze on his eyes: "Your dear friend, Mr. Carlos, ca to this morning. He told he wants to get out of this club."

Robert’s features froze; I saw his jaw clench instantly, and a flash of bewildernt in his eyes. He didn’t expect to confess his friend’s conspiracy. He asked in a voice as low as thunder: "Carlos said that?"

I answered with a feigned coldness: "Yes... he even told that he likes ."

He asked suddenly, stepping even closer, forcing back until I hit the desk: "And what was your response?"

The sharpness of his question startled . Why did he care? I said rebelliously: "That’s none of your business."

He narrowed his eyes and said mockingly: "What happened? Just monts ago you were worried about because I was burned."

I snapped back with equal sharpness: "I only felt guilty. Otherwise, why would I worry about you? Who are you for to worry about?"

A charged silence followed. Then he said, watching my reaction: "Fine... but why did you tell about Carlos? Don’t you want him to get you out of here?"

I looked into the void with bitterness, feeling the weight of the truth crushing my chest: "I’ve started to realize I can’t leave this place. So, I’m going to accept this reality."

I ant every word. I finally realized I was a prisoner in a golden cage, the key held by a man who knows no rcy. I had to coexist with this hell before it devoured what was left of .

Robert’s Point of View

I couldn’t recognize the Julie standing before ; that sudden sharpness made study her in awe.

Was her father’s arrival the spark that revived that inner strength? What truly shocked was her confession about Carlos’s plan; I thought she would cling to him like a lifeline, but as always, she excels at blindsiding .

I said in a tone I tried to keep neutral: "Accepting the reality that you won’t leave? That’s good."

She replied with a coldness that made my chest tighten: "Yes. And I forgot to tell you sothing else."

I asked with a hidden dread: "What is it?"

She said: "Your ’respectable’ father visited this morning."

My body locked up, an eyebrow arching in surprise: "My father?"

She continued as if driving a blade into my heart: "Yes. And for so reason, he thought I was getting close to you... I don’t know how he believed I’d ever think of getting close to a monster like you."

A sharp pang shot through my chest; it wasn’t my father’s warning that hurt, but her seeing as a ’monster’ while I see her as my entire world. I clenched my jaw and adjusted my suit jacket, feigning indifference: "My father is becoming senile.

He knows well enough that I don’t like little virgins."

She looked at with expressionless eyes and said: "That’s for the best."

She left the office, leaving in a whirlwind of distraction.

On one hand, I can’t stand the thought of her hating ; on the other, my father is weaving threads behind my back to keep her away. I felt the throb of rage in my temple; I had to confront him imdiately.

I left the club and drove like a maniac toward the manor. The maid greeted nervously: "Your father is in the lounge, Mr. Robert."

I walked with heavy steps until I found him sitting in his wheelchair, staring through the glass with stasis. I said sharply: "What the hell are you doing, Father?"

He turned with a provocative coldness and asked: "What’s happened? What happened to your face? "

I yelled at him, feeling the veins in my neck ready to burst: "Don’t play stupid with ! You know exactly what I’m talking about... Why are you trying to get Julie out of the club? And why are you warning her to stay away from ?"

He answered calmly: "She told you that quickly? What a girl."

I continued, sparks flying from my eyes: "And you tracked down her father and sent him to buy her!"

He replied, narrowing his eyes at : "Because she’s stealing your mind! You hardly even go to the company anymore."

"I don’t go to the company anyway; Daniel is there and I run my business from my laptop!" I said, stepping toward him threateningly.

He added bitterly: "You’ve changed, Robert... admit that this girl makes you weak."

I laughed mockingly: "Weak? Am I weak, Father, because I’m attracted to that girl?"

He shouted back: "You’re not just attracted to her! You’re infatuated... you love her, you’re obsessed with her!"

I froze, feeling a denial shaking my very foundation. Love? Impossible. I said firmly: "Stop your fantasies... I don’t love her. But I admit, I’m fond of her."

He said with sorrow: "Stop lying to yourself, Robert... this girl will destroy you. She will beco your weakness."

I erupted into a dark, bitter laugh: "Were you thinking that when you cheated on my mother, Father?"

His features shifted completely. He said: "Robert, don’t change the subject."

"I am at the heart of the subject!" I scread, leaning over him until our eyes t.

"Can I ever forget that my mother died?"

He replied in a low voice: "Your mother chose to die."

I lost my mind. I lunged toward him and scread in his face: "Because of you and your mistress! My mother committed suicide because of you both!"

He whispered: "Robert, son..."

I cut him off sternly: "I am not your son... and stay away from Julie, I’m warning you!"

He said, watching leave: "You’ll regret this, Robert... that girl will drive you to ruin."

I turned to him at the door, grinding my teeth as I made a final vow: "I will find your mistress, Father. And I swear to you, I won’t just end her life I will end her entire bloodline!"

I walked out of the house, my vision blurred by pure malice. I got into the car and slamd my fist against the steering wheel, muttering the na that had beco a curse: "Violet... I only know your na, but I swear I will find you and I will kill you."
