12:00 PM - LUNCH WITH NYLA
Orion returned ho for lunch. Found Nyla in the kitchen. She’d co ho between classes.
"Hey," she said, looking up from her sandwich. "You’re actually eating at a normal ti for once."
"Occasionally." Orion sat down across from her. René brought him a plate.
They ate in comfortable silence for a few minutes.
"You look different," Nyla said suddenly.
"Everyone keeps saying that."
"Because it’s true. You’re... I don’t know. Brighter sohow. Like you’re more here than you used to be."
Orion smiled. "Enhanced cultivation. My body is improving. That shows externally."
"Mom told about your strength demonstration. Lifting your desk with one hand."
"You want a demonstration?"
"Maybe later. Right now I want to ask sothing."
"Go ahead."
Nyla set down her sandwich. t his eyes. "When are you going to teach ? The cultivation. The enhancent. I want to learn."
Orion had been expecting this question. "Soon. But not yet."
"Why not?"
"Because I need to make sure it’s completely safe first. I’ve been experinting on myself. Testing. Refining. But teaching soone else requires absolute certainty. I won’t risk hurting you."
"I trust you."
"I know. But I need to trust my thods first." Orion leaned forward. "Give a few weeks. Maybe a month. Let perfect the safety protocols. Then I’ll teach you properly. Both you and Cassia."
Nyla considered. "Promise?"
"Promise."
"Okay. I can wait a month." She picked up her sandwich again. "But after that, no more delays. I’m learning cultivation whether you like it or not."
Orion laughed. "Noted."
They finished lunch. Nyla headed back to university. Orion returned to his study.
2:00 PM - RENE’S PROGRESS REPORT
"Orion, I have updates on technology developnt," Rene said through the BCI.
"Go ahead."
"Gene enhancent drug version 1.0 is progressing well. I’ve reduced complexity to sixty-eight active components. Risk profile is now below point-five percent. Should be ready for simulated trials in ten days."
"Excellent. What else?"
"I’ve completed designs for fifteen additional technologies. Bringing total to sixty-two distinct products."
"Show the new ones."
Data flowed through the BCI. Fifteen new designs:
dical:
Portable regeneration device (accelerates healing, handheld size) Cancer detection implant (continuous monitoring, early warning) Neural repair nanobots (fixes brain damage)
Energy:
Fusion reactor Mark II (smaller, more efficient than current model) Wireless power grid (eliminates transmission lines)
Transportation:
Personal jetpack (graviton-assisted flight) Hyperloop pod design (vacuum tube transport at 2000 kph)
Space:
Orbital elevator car design (transport module for space elevator) Lunar base habitat (self-sustaining colony for 100 people) Asteroid mining drone (fully autonomous)
Infrastructure:
3D-printed housing (complete ho in 24 hours) Atmospheric water harvester (extracts water from air in deserts) Seawater desalination plant (large-scale, energy efficient)
Computing:
Quantum smartphone (photonic chip, petabyte storage) Holographic workspace (replaces monitors and keyboards)
Orion reviewed each design quickly. All excellent quality. All manufacturable with current or planned technology.
"Approved. Add to portfolio. Continue developnt."
"Also, I’ve been running economic simulations. Based on licensing projections and manufacturing tilines, Starr Technologies revenue should exceed ten trillion credits annually within eighteen months."
Ten trillion. Orion let that sink in.
"We’ll be wealthier than most countries."
"Wealthier than all countries except possibly the Federation as a whole. And our growth rate exceeds theirs."
"Make sure Cassia sees the projections. She’ll need to plan for that scale."
4:00 PM - AFTERNOON CULTIVATION
Orion took a break from work. Went back to the garden. Another cultivation session.
This ti just two hours. Not the intense four-hour morning session. Just steady progress.
The sun was past its peak but still strong. Energy flowed in smoothly. His enhanced technique made cultivation almost effortless now.
Ring halo: 26.2% → 27.5%. Another 1.3% in two hours.
When he finished, he tested his abilities. Psychic sense had expanded. Range now about 2 kiloters. Could sense every living thing within that radius. Birds. Squirrels. Neighbors in nearby houses. Cars on distant streets.
His connection to celestial bodies had strengthened. Earth felt solid beneath him. Moon’s pull was clear despite it being dayti. Sun blazed in his awareness like a beacon.
And faintly—very faintly—he could sense Mars. Venus. The other planets. Distant whispers at the edge of perception.
"Cultivation is accelerating," Orion noted. "Every session makes the next one easier. Positive feedback loop."
6:00 PM - BIOLOGICAL LAB EQUIPNT DELIVERED
Dr. Martinez called. "Mr. Starr, biological equipnt is complete. All systems tested and verified. Ready for delivery to your specifications."
"Excellent. Transport everything to the dedicated biosafety facility. I’ll be there tomorrow to begin work."
"Understood. Also, first God’s Core unit is forty percent complete. Should be operational by tomorrow afternoon as projected."
"Perfect. Continue production."
Orion hung up. Checked his schedule. Tomorrow he’d begin creating the Qi-synthesis organisms. Finally put the biological knowledge to use.
But tonight—more work. More designs. More advancent.
DAY 1 - EVENING TO NIGHT
8:00 PM - FAMILY DINNER
Rare evening where everyone was ho. Cassia back from headquarters. Nyla finished with studying. Orion taking a break from work.
René served dinner. Grilled fish. Vegetables. Rice. Perfectly prepared.
They talked about normal things. Nyla’s classes. Cassia’s etings. Orion’s cultivation progress.
"I’ve been fielding calls all day," Cassia said. "Every governnt wants etings. Every corporation wants licensing agreents. The Federation is requesting an official visit next week."
"Are you going?"
"I think we all should. Shows cooperation. Goodwill. Plus the Federation controls a lot of infrastructure. We need them on our side for global deploynt."
"Schedule it. I’ll attend."
"Really? You never want to do public appearances."
"This is important enough." Orion took a bite of fish. "What are they asking for specifically?"
"Access to infrastructure technologies. The atmospheric processors. Water purification. Energy grid optimization. They want to deploy globally within six months."
"Tell them yes. Low-cost licensing as planned. We’ll provide technical support for deploynt."
"That’ll earn a lot of political goodwill."
"That’s the idea."
After dinner, they sat in the living room. Watched the news together. Every channel covering Starr Technologies.
"The Manufacturing Revolution" - coverage of Mark II replicators.
"Energy Independence" - analysis of fusion reactor implications.
"The Technology Boom Accelerates" - expert panels discussing societal changes.
"They have no idea what’s coming," Nyla said. "They think fusion and replicators are the big news. They don’t know about the other impossible technologies you keep making in your room."
"Let them find out gradually," Orion replied. "Too much at once would cause panic."
10:00 PM - NIGHT WORK
Family ti ended. Everyone went to their rooms. Orion returned to his study.
Pulled up the Mark III replicator design he’d ntioned to Dr. Martinez. Ti to actually create it.
Mark II was one hundred tis faster than Mark I. Mark III should be another ten tis faster than Mark II. Thousand-fold improvent over original design.
He worked through the night. Designing. Optimizing. Using enhanced comprehension to solve complex engineering problems in minutes instead of hours.
The key was better spatial compression. Mark II used basic compression fields using spatial frequencies. Mark III would use advanced dinsional manipulation. The internal space would be massively larger than external dinsions. More room for parallel operations. It will be an application of graviton. So for Mark III to work, a graviton capture device will also be imbedded into Mark III.
Note: Graviton is basically used to manipulate space and gravity.
Also improved laser arrays. Variable wavelength with microsecond switching. Could process dozens of materials simultaneously without reconfiguration.
And distributed computing. Instead of one central AI controlling everything, Mark III would have networked intelligence. Thousands of micro-processors working in coordination.
By 3:00 AM, the design was complete. Mark III replicator. Ten tis faster than Mark II. Could self-replicate in under one minute. Could manufacture God’s Core components in minutes instead of days.
Sent to manufacturing queue. Priority construction after current God’s Core unit completed.
Orion leaned back. Checked his ring halo. 27.5% → 28.1%. Passive cultivation during work hours. Half a percent growth just from ambient energy absorption while sitting at his desk.
"Incredible rate," he muttered. "At this pace, first ring complete in two more days."
