Li Yu walked through the winding cobblestone streets of Kyokai City as the artificial twilight of The Veil cast a soothing glow over the silver canals. The air felt significantly lighter than his previous visits, carrying a faint breeze that whispered of a world slowly healing its fractured foundation. He navigated the rchant districts without stopping, keeping his focus on the towering white marble structure looming in the center of the city.

He pushed the heavy wooden doors of the Pagoda of the First Echo open and stepped into the familiar expanse of dark and star-flecked space. The ethereal mist parted seamlessly as the massive spinning astrolabe descended from the shadows above. The intricate golden rings of Astrantis clicked and rotated in a welcoming rhythm.

"You return to us, Li Yu," the ancient artifact resonated in his mind. The layered voice held a tone of pleasant surprise. "The integration of the Realm Essence proceeds well. To what do we owe the honor of your visit today?"

Li Yu offered a respectful bow before looking up at the glowing rings. "I am glad the healing process is going smoothly. I ca back because I took on a task for my clan and I needed a reliable place to procure high grade soul resources. I figured Kyokai City would have exactly what the mission required."

Astrantis humd softly and was parsing his words. "Your clan? You have spoken little of your origins in the past. Have you returned to the fold of your lineage?"

"I have," Li Yu smiled faintly. "My journey eventually led to them. I belong to the Zhan Clan and the Li Clan." Li Yu went on to explain a bit of the lineage since nas could be repeated through the cosmos.

The steady rotation of the golden rings faltered for a fraction of a second, resulting in a sharp tallic click echoing through the silent chamber. Astrantis possessed a vast repository of knowledge and understood the geopolitical hierarchy of the myriad realms from their scouts. The Veil was a struggling sanctuary trying to nd a broken sky, while the Zhan and Li clans were lineages commanding powerful legions.

"The Zhan and the Li," Astrantis repeated as its voice dropped into a solemn cadence. "Those are nas that carry weight. For you to carry the blood of both houses is your fortune. I am genuinely happy you have found your true family, Li Yu. The cosmos is a cold place to wander alone."

"Thank you," Li Yu replied. "I need various soul crystals and herbs for enhancent to fulfill this bounty. I was hoping I could purchase them from your treasuries rather than hunting through the rchant stalls."

Li Yu went on to list what the request had asked for or its equivalent. Astrantis resud its smooth spinning while casting a warm and vibrant light over the dark stone floor. "There is no need for purchases between us. You helped to secure the future of this realm when you facilitated the trade with the Eidolon Court. Providing a few resources is a trivial matter in comparison."

A spatial ripple ford in front of the astrolabe, depositing a polished silver storage ring directly into Li Yu's waiting hand. Li Yu pushed a sliver of his divine sense into the band and blinked in surprise. The interior was packed with neatly stacked crates of soul crystals and preserved jade boxes radiating the rich scent of high tier spiritual herbs. The volu easily exceeded ten tis the amount he had originally requested for his mission.

Li Yu understood the intention behind the gesture imdiately. The artifact was ensuring he had enough wealth to complete his task while retaining a surplus for his own personal cultivation. It was an additional silent repaynt for the salvation of their world and to keep good relationships.

"I accept your generosity," Li Yu said while securing the ring within his own storage space. "This will help greatly."

"May the Dao favor your path," Astrantis wished him warmly. "Our doors will always remain open to you at any ti."

Li Yu bid the ancient artifact farewell and exited the pagoda, stepping back into the bustling atmosphere of the city. He spent the next hour tracking the familiar Qi signatures of his friends until he reached a quiet courtyard situated near the edge of the healing district. He found Daiki and Sora sitting on a wooden porch overlooking a tranquil koi pond.

The giant Crimson Demon was the first to notice the shift in the air. Daiki turned his head, his golden eyes locking onto Li Yu, before a look of astonishnt washed over his scarred features. He stood up slowly with his towering fra tensing as he analyzed the aura radiating from his friend.

"By the heavens," Daiki breathed as his deep voice carried disbelief. "You broke through the Paragon boundary?"

Li Yu smiled and walked into the courtyard. "I had so fortunate encounters and a lot of help along the way."

Daiki shook his head as he tried to process the unnatural speed of the progression. It had not been that long since they parted ways in The Veil. Back then, Li Yu was a full realm lower than Daiki's Domain King cultivation, yet he now stood a full realm above him.

Sora rose from the porch to greet him with her movents fluid and graceful. The Lunar Wolf beastkin looked vibrant, her silver fur shining with a healthy luster that spoke of a nded foundation. The dicines that Daiki had fought so hard to secure had done more than just heal her shattered core; the premium dicines had refined her body further, acting as a blessing in disguise that pushed her own strength to new heights.

"It is wonderful to see you, Li Yu," Sora said while offering a warm bow. "Your presence feels like a deep ocean now. You have grown incredibly strong."

"And you look fully recovered," Li Yu noted happily as he took a seat with them on the wooden porch. Daiki poured fresh cups of spirit tea as they settled into a comfortable rhythm.

Li Yu spent the next hour recounting the events that had transpired since his departure. He carefully navigated the story, omitting the dangerous secrets surrounding the On Realm, the Eidolon Court and the ancient Ancestor resting in his soul space. He then focused on his reunion with his parents and the revelation of his heritage belonging to the Li and Zhan clans.

As he ntioned the na of the Zhan Clan, Sora’s hand paused over her teacup. Her silver ears twitched backward and her piercing eyes narrowed into slits of sharp focus. The tranquil aura surrounding her spiked with a sudden and turbulent emotion.

Both Li Yu and Daiki noticed the abrupt shift in her deanor. Li Yu paused his retelling and set his cup down. "What is wrong, Sora?"

Sora closed her eyes and let out a long and trembling sigh. She set her tea aside, her shoulders slumping as she prepared to share a burden she had kept hidden since they t.

"I have never spoken of my past before," Sora began as her voice was tight with restrained sorrow. "My lineage belongs to the Silver Moon Clan. We were a prosperous and powerful family in our ho world, the Luminar Moon Realm."

Li Yu raised an eyebrow, recognizing the na of the realm. It was the exact sa world where Zhan Tian had saved the hidden village of the dual-souled Anti-Duplex race.

"Generations ago, our realm was invaded by a coalition known as the Blood Eclipse Sect," Sora continued with her gaze fixed on the rippling water of the koi pond. "They swept across the continents, slaughtering our people to harvest our bloodlines for their demonic arts. My clan fought bitterly but we were outmatched and our defenses were crumbling. We thought it was the end of our history."

She looked up with her silver eyes shining with a mixture of reverence and lingering grief. "But then the sky tore open. A man descended with an army at his back. He did not ask for tribute or negotiate with the invaders. He simply crushed the Blood Eclipse Sect with overwhelming force and drove them out of our world. The survivors of my clan called him the Worldkeeper, a heroic figure passed down in our stories ever since."

Li Yu leaned back and was genuinely taken aback by the overlapping threads of fate. "Sora... the Worldkeeper is my grandfather, Zhan Tian."

Sora froze, the breath catching in her throat. She stared at him with her mind struggling to bridge the mythic savior of her childhood stories with the young man sitting casually on her porch. Daiki looked equally stunned, glancing between the two of them as the imnse scale of Li Yu's background truly settled in.

"Your grandfather," Sora whispered while bowing her head in respect. "I was just a tiny pup when it happened but his intervention saved what little remained of us. However, our ancestral ho was too heavily corrupted by the invasion, forcing the survivors to abandon our lands and scatter into the winds to survive."

She clenched her fists with her knuckles turning white. "The main forces of the Blood Eclipse Sect were defeated on our world but their sect still exists in the wider cosmos. I trained relentlessly, walking the path of the sword because my life goal was to grow strong enough to hunt them down and exact revenge for my fallen kin."

Daiki placed a comforting hand over hers with his thumb tracing the back of her wrist, the sorrow in her eyes hardening into a desperate resolve.

"But revenge is not the reason I pushed myself so forcefully before." Sora confessed, her voice cracking under the weight of a decade-old sha. "I had an adopted sister nad Lunitum. We grew up together in the aftermath of the invasion, relying on each other to survive the harshness of the wandering life. Over ten years ago, while we were traveling through the Quiet Zephyr Realm, we chanced upon a scouting party belonging to the Blood Eclipse Sect."

A single tear escaped her eye and was tracing a silver line down her cheek. "They recognized our lineage imdiately. We fought but there were too many of them. Lunitum triggered a forbidden blood art, burning her own lifeforce to hold the line so I could escape. As I fled into the woods, the sect elders mocked . They shouted that if I ever wanted my sister back, I would find their specific branch holding her at the Crimson Crag Stronghold."

Sora covered her face with her hands and the guilt poured off her in waves. "It has been over ten years, Li Yu. I do not know if she is still alive, if she is being tortured or what they have done to her. It is a sha I have carried every single day, forced to endure because I lacked the strength to breach a stronghold built by monsters."

Before Daiki could stop her, Sora slid off the wooden porch and dropped toward the stone path. She was attempting to press her forehead to the ground in a desperate plea. Li Yu's hand shot out to catch her shoulder before her knees could touch the stone, while Daiki grabbed her other arm to pull her back up.

"Please, Li Yu," Sora begged with her voice thick with tears. "You are the only one with the background that I know to save her. I know it is a monuntal request but I will willingly serve you for the rest of my life as a guard, a servant or a blade. Anything you ask, as long as it does not cross romantic boundaries as my heart belongs to Daiki. Just please, help save my sister."

Li Yu felt a flash of frustration, not at her request, but at the ingrained hierarchy of the cultivation world that demanded people throw away their dignity to seek help. He hoisted her firmly back onto her feet and leveled a stern but warm gaze at her.

"Stop that right now," Li Yu commanded with his voice brokering no argunt. "We are friends, Sora. Friends do not demand lifetis of servitude from one another and they certainly do not kneel in the dirt to beg. You just have to ask ."

Sora sniffled, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.

"I will help you find her," Li Yu promised with his tone softening. "But if you ever try to drop to your knees and beg again, we are no longer friends. Understood?"

Sora let out a wet laugh while nodding her head vigorously as she wiped her eyes. "I understand. Thank you, Li Yu."

Li Yu stepped back and began calculating the logistics of the situation. Hitting a fortified stronghold required precision and overwhelming force. If the Blood Eclipse Sect still held her sister, they needed to strike fast and if she had been moved, they needed the power to extract information and pivot to a new target without losing montum.

He reached into his dark robes and pulled out a communication token he kept linked to his retainers. Pushing a sliver of Qi into the artifact, he sent a brief summons through the spatial tether.

The ambient space in the courtyard rippled as Fenric and Oram stepped seamlessly out of the void, their dark armor and faceless masks contrasting sharply with the tranquil garden. Daiki and Sora tensed instinctively at the sudden appearance of the ghostly experts but Li Yu raised a hand to calm them.

"These are my retainers," Li Yu explained briefly to his friends. He then turned to the two Core Wardens. "We are leaving The Veil. Please take the three of us back to my estate at the Five Star Lakes."

Fenric nodded silently while raising his armored hand to tear a jagged rift in the fabric of space. Li Yu gestured for Daiki and Sora to step through first. The five of them crossed the cosmic boundary, leaving the artificial twilight of Kyokai City behind as they erged into the cool and starlit night of the Zhan Clan territory.

The familiar scent of wild orchids and fresh water greeted them as they stepped onto the grassy banks of the central lake. Li Yu guided his two friends toward a pair of luxurious guest pavilions situated near the water's edge, ensuring they had comfortable quarters to rest and prepare.

Once they were settled, Li Yu walked back out to his own wooden porch and looked up at the silver moon cresting the jagged mountain peaks. He had promised to save Lunitum but charging into the Crimson Crag Stronghold was a foolish endeavor. He needed to think it out and more importantly, he needed to gather the right blades for the coming storm.
