Li Yu carefully studied the faint ripples of Qi hovering near Lunitum’s temples. He sent a gentle thread of his own spiritual sense towards her only to encounter a dense and suffocating barrier wrapped tightly around her consciousness. The vile technique did not damage the mind but rather subrged it beneath a heavy seal to ensure the captive remained docile while their cultivation was forcefully ripened.

He stood up and looked across the courtyard at the hundreds of other cauldrons sitting in identical trances.

"It is as Lian said, this is a highly specialized soul suppression thod," Li Yu explained while brushing the dust from his dark robes. "If we try to break these seals with brute force, we risk shattering their spiritual seas."

Sora looked at him with desperate eyes while holding her sister's limp hand. "Then how do we wake them up?"

"We take them to the experts," Li Yu answered confidently. "The Veil is a realm built upon the foundation of soul laws. The elders there possess a depth of knowledge regarding spiritual ailnts that few can match. If anyone can safely dismantle a parasitic soul lock, it is them."

Lian stepped forward and evaluated the logistics of moving hundreds of unresponsive captives. She turned toward her assembled commanders and began issuing swift directives.

"General Hua and General Yin, you will accompany us to this place." Lian commanded as the two female warriors offered sharp nods. "The rest of you will remain here to manage the aftermath. Catalog the surviving prisoners and strip every vault bare. Erase the remaining infrastructure of this sect before you depart."

The eight remaining generals dispersed into the smoking ruins to carry out their grim duties. Fenric and Oram stepped toward the center of the plaza and raised their armored hands in unison. Channeling a deep well of energy, the two Core Wardens tore a wide and stable rift in the fabric of the realm. A swirling corridor of silver and grey light anchored itself to the stone tiles.

Moving the captives required patience as Sora and Daiki gently guided Lunitum through the portal while General Hua and General Yin utilized Qi to float the remaining hundreds of entranced victims into the void. Li Yu and Lian followed the procession as the rift sealed shut behind them, leaving the Celestial Crucible Clan to beco a forgotten stain on history.

The group erged into the cool and artificial twilight of Kyokai City. The sudden arrival of three hundred unresponsive cultivators drew imdiate attention from the local patrols but the presence of Li Yu, Daiki and Sora quickly signaled that the visitors were allies.

Li Yu led the somber procession directly toward the Ward of Tranquility. The soothing scent of dried spiritual roots and burning incense wafted through the sliding wooden doors as Elder Vaelin stepped out onto the pavilion porch. She took one look at the vast crowd of glazed eyes and imdiately summoned several seniors to assist her.

They guided the victims into a sprawling outdoor ditation garden situated behind the ward. Elder Vaelin approached Lunitum and pressed two fingers against the center of the beastkin's forehead. A soft silver light blood from the elder's fingertips as she probed the dark seal binding the girl's mind.

The silence in the garden grew heavy as the healers conducted their examinations. Daiki stood with his arms crossed while offering a silent pillar of support for Sora, who watched the elder's every micro expression.

Elder Vaelin finally lowered her hand and let out a long breath.

"There is definitely a sinister technique anchoring their spiritual seas," the elder diagnosed while turning to address the group. "It is designed to pool their refined Qi while suppressing the conscious mind to prevent any resistance. We are confident we can unravel it and restore their autonomy."

Sora let out a gasp of relief and leaned heavily against Daiki's side. The long nightmare was finally approaching its end.

"However," Elder Vaelin continued as her tone shifted into a realm of strict pragmatism. "Unraveling a seal of this complexity requires ticulous effort and ti. More importantly, we do not yet know the specific reaction the mind will have once the barrier is lifted. If the final cure requires specialized herbs or rare materials to stabilize their awakened consciousness, we will face a difficult limitation."

The elder looked over the sea of three hundred faces with a sympathetic but firm gaze. "The Veil is healing but our treasuries are not endless. If the redy demands heavy material investnt, we will need to discuss exactly how many of these people we can discuss who to cure at that ti. We are healers but we are not saviors possessing boundless wealth."

"If the thod relies purely on Qi manipulation and array work without requiring external materials, we will gladly cure every single one of them," Vaelin clarified. "I am sorry it must be frad this way but we must prioritize the survival of our own realm."

Li Yu nodded in imdiate understanding. The elders of The Veil were offering their expertise for free, which was already a grand gesture. Expecting them to burden themselves further for hundreds of strangers was an unreasonable demand.

"Let us figure out the cure first," Li Yu agreed. "Once we know what is required to wake them, we will decide how to proceed with the logistics. Depending on the materials needed, we can make our decision then."

Li Yu was also not soone who would take on heavy burdens for strangers either. If the price for the cure was too great, it would most likely be the grim decision to end their suffering rather than keep them in that state.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Lian stepped forward with her dark armor clinking softly. "I can expedite your research. My generals are currently securing the libraries of the Celestial Crucible Clan. I will have them extract every manual detailing their cauldron arts and soul suppression techniques. Providing you with their techniques should help your healers find the cure much faster."

Elder Vaelin offered a bow of gratitude. "Having their original texts would be an imasurable advantage. It will save us a lot of ti testing."

With the dical plan established, Sora turned toward Li Yu. Her silver eyes were bright with unshed tears as the crushing weight of a decade long failure lifted from her shoulders. While her friend wasn’t completely okay yet, at least she was still alive and there was a chance. None of this would have been possible if she didn’t know soone with Li Yu’s connections. She placed her fist over her heart and offered a deep bow.

"Thank you, Li Yu," Sora said with her voice thick with emotion. "You gave hope when I had none left."

Li Yu smiled warmly but quickly raised a hand to deflect the praise. "Do not thank . Lian and her generals are the ones who breached the strongholds and secured the prisoners. I just stood on a cliff and watched them work."

Sora turned her respectful bow toward the general. "Thank you, General Lian. I owe you both a favor that I will honor for the rest of my life."

Lian and Li Yu exchanged a brief glance before accepting the pledge. They both understood the proud nature of a cultivator. If they refused her gratitude, Sora would feel unbearably burdened by the debt. Accepting the favor allowed her to retain her dignity while knowing she had a way to repay their kindness in the future should the chance ever arise.

"Focus on your sister for now," Lian instructed gently.

"Daiki and I will remain here in the ward," Sora affird as she looked back at Lunitum's silent form. She knew it was a long shot to expect her sister to be exactly the sa after ten years of captivity but the hope of hearing her voice again burned brightly in her chest.

Li Yu turned to his retainers and gestured toward the imposing figure of Oram. "Stay here in The Veil. Act as our liaison with Elder Vaelin."

"It will be done." Oram rumbled as he stepped back into the shadows of the garden to take up his vigil.

With the situation stabilized, Lian signaled to Fenric. The scarred warden tore a new rift connecting The Veil back to the Zhan Clan territory. Li Yu waved a final goodbye to Daiki and Sora before stepping through the portal alongside Lian, General Hua and General Yin.

The transition was smooth and they erged onto the grassy banks of the Five Star Lakes. The silver moon hung high over the jagged mountains and cast a serene reflection across the rippling water. Fenric offered a silent bow to Li Yu before slipping away toward his own dedicated pavilion back at the Zhan headquarters, leaving Li Yu alone with the Lian and her two generals.

Li Yu breathed in the fresh scent of wild flowers and turned toward Lian. The adrenaline of the raids was fading, replaced by a comfortable ease that always settled over him when they shared the sa space.

"The night is still young," Li Yu offered while gesturing toward his wooden pagoda. "You promised you would collect your paynt. I can set up the fire pit and start cooking if you want to stay and eat."

Lian looked at the inviting pavilion and a temptation flashed across her dark eyes. However, she let out a quiet sigh and shook her head.

"I must decline for tonight," Lian answered with a hint of reluctance. "While the fighting was trivial, managing the logistics and taking care of the aftermath is usually a severe headache. Securing the vaults of two destroyed sects, relocating the surrendered prisoners and ensuring our tracks are covered requires my direct oversight."

She paused for a mont and a playful smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. The stoic commander vanished, replaced by the teasing woman who enjoyed pushing him off balance.

"Besides," Lian continued smoothly, "General Yin secured a rather valuable prize for you. We captured the 6th Prince of the Aurelian Spear Kingdom partaking in the clan's services. I will have him delivered to your estate tomorrow. Since his sister is your little traveling companion, you can use him as leverage to negotiate a hefty ransom."

Li Yu felt a dull ache throb near his temples as he rembered the cowardly prince and the political ss dragging a royal hostage would entail. He deliberately ignored her tease regarding Princess Jinling and focused on the broader implications of their crusade.

"Be careful out there," Li Yu said as his tone shifted into earnest concern. He stepped closer and looked directly into her dark eyes. "You wiped out two major factions today. If any neighboring empires or allied sects try to retaliate or investigate the purge, direct the bla toward . I will bear the burdens of this raid since this was all due to ."

Lian felt a sudden warmth blossom in her chest. She had spent her entire existence acting as a hidden shield for him, fully prepared to absorb the hatred and violence of the cosmos to keep him safe. Hearing him offer to step in front of the blade for her stirred a deep affection within her heart.

She offered a breathtaking smile and a soft chuckle escaped her lips. "I appreciate the sentint, Li Yu. But the Veiled Lotus leaves no trace. Just focus on extracting as many resources as you can from that royal prince."

Lian closed the remaining distance between them. The polished edges of her dark armor clinked softly as she leaned forward. She pressed a brief but incredibly warm kiss against his cheek. The fleeting touch sent a jolt of electricity racing down his spine and left the faint scent of lotus blossoms lingering in the air.

She leaned her head closer until her lips brushed against his ear.

"The last promise we made was for you to give a kiss," Lian whispered, her voice dropping into a lower register that made his pulse hamr against his ribs. "But it has to be a romantic one. So you had better set the mood well for next ti."

Li Yu froze as his breath caught in his throat. A hot flush crept up his neck while his mind scrambled to form a coherent response to the bold demand.

Lian pulled back and her eyes danced with open amusent at his flustered state. She did not feel a shred of embarrassnt as she turned away and drew her crimson cloak tight around her shoulders.

General Hua and General Yin stood a few paces away. They had overheard the entire exchange with the heightened senses of their cultivation. Hua maintained a stiff and professional posture but Yin wore a wicked grin that stretched from ear to ear.

"You heard the General," Yin teased playfully as she tapped the hilt of her curved dagger. "You better do a good job planning your next date, Li Yu. We expect great things."

Li Yu groaned quietly and rubbed the back of his neck as he watched Lian effortlessly tear a spatial rift in the air. The three won stepped into the void with fluid grace. Lian offered him one final, lingering look over her shoulder before the rift sealed shut, leaving him standing alone by the shimring lakes with a hamring heart and a daunting romantic task ahead of him.
