Now reading: Chapter 240: Inferno Flames! from Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory, a Game novel by IvyWoods.

"As expected... that damned Inferno stench..."

The Tidebreaker, Paxton, stood tall, his face grim and fierce, eyes flashing with a sharp, deadly light. He locked his gaze onto the figure striding toward them through the roaring flas—Efreet hero Azrak—followed by an army of 11th-Tier Efreets and 12th-Tier Efreet Sultans. His aura exploded outward, thick with killing intent.

"...What a terrifying presence..."

Azrak’s expression darkened the mont he felt Paxton’s overwhelming aura. A shadow flickered across his eyes.

At the sa ti, Ethan quickly pulled up the status panels for both Paxton and Azrak:

"A mage-type hero... Wait a second, this Infernal Lord Malphas...?"

Ethan muttered, his eyes suddenly flashing with realization. His heart skipped a beat as a mory surfaced.

Back in the Unicorn Duchy, there was that Infernal Lord whose power had been suppressed by the World Will of the main world—and Ethan had killed him once.

That guy’s na... was Malphas too, wasn’t it?

No way it’s just a coincidence, right?

"Malphas is here too?" Ethan asked sharply.

Azrak froze for a second, then sneered.

"What, getting scared? Don’t worry—soon, the wrath of my great lord Malphas will consu every last one of you!"

"Infernal Lord Malphas? Shit... it’s really him?"

Paxton’s face darkened, his expression turning grim.

Clearly, he knew exactly who Malphas was—and he wasn’t happy about it.

"So it really is him... No wonder this mission was rated S difficulty," Ethan muttered under his breath.

"A sixty-eight or sixty-nine-level Infernal Lord... that’s not gonna be easy to deal with."

He rembered clearly—when he first encountered Malphas, the guy had been level 70.

Ethan had managed to kill him back then, but that was when Malphas was weakened, his power suppressed by the World Will—basically a half-crippled state.

Now, though?

Now Malphas would be at full strength.

If Ethan had to guess, Malphas was probably back at his peak—and his current power level wouldn’t be any lower than Crimsonstar Kingdom’s ace hero, Thalric...

This was bad.

Really bad.

But—

Ethan’s eyes glead as he stared at the Efreet, Azrak.

"But maybe... this is our shot."

Honestly, if Azrak had already linked up with Infernal Lord Malphas, even with The Tidebreaker Paxton at his side, Ethan knew they’d have no choice but to turn tail and run for their lives.

But right now?

It was just Azrak.

And he was the weakest one.

This was practically a gift-wrapped opportunity!

"Paxton," Ethan said quickly, keeping his back to Azrak and shooting Paxton a aningful look, "we need to take him out—fast. If he links up with Malphas, we’re screwed."

Paxton, a seasoned general of the Storm Kingdom, caught on imdiately.

He gave Ethan a quick wink, his eyes narrowing sharply—and then he moved.

"Let’s go!"

BOOM!

With a roar that shook the heavens, The Tidebreaker Paxton unleashed a terrifying surge of power. His entire body ignited with a blazing, almost fla-like aura, and he shot toward Azrak like a bolt of lightning.

In his hands, a massive silver warhamr materialized—

—and he brought it crashing down with devastating force!

At the sa ti, hundreds of warriors materialized behind him:

11th-Tier Naga Swordsn, 12th-Tier Naga Swordmasters, and even 13th-Tier Kirins, all summoned by Paxton’s call, charging straight at the enemy lines!

The battlefield exploded into chaos in an instant.

Azrak reacted fast—

blazing backward at a speed more than twice Paxton’s.

That was his survival strategy.

As a mage-type elental hero, Azrak was fragile as hell in close combat—one good hit and he was toast.

But he was fast.

And his magic? Absolutely devastating.

In other words, if he could just put so distance between them and get enough breathing room to cast—

it would be the beginning of the end for his enemies.

Azrak darted back, narrowly dodging Paxton’s hamr strike,

and imdiately began chanting under his breath.

BOOM!

In the blink of an eye, a massive surge of fire magic erupted around him, roaring like a tidal wave.

The air itself seed to boil as the infernal energy gathered, swirling around Azrak at the center like a living storm.

At the sa ti, a terrifying pressure radiated from him, crackling like a thunderstorm—

so intense it made the heart tremble.

"Face the judgnt of the damned!"

Azrak roared.

"Inferno Flas!"

With a deafening howl, the Efreet unleashed his ultimate area-of-effect spell—

and the battlefield was about to be swallowed whole in fire.

...

But right at that mont—

everything changed.

Whoosh!

Out of nowhere, a golden dragon claw tore through the air, slashing straight into Efreet Azrak with brutal force.

In an instant, Azrak was ripped from the sky and slamd into the ground like a teor, crashing down with a deafening boom!

His spell?

Completely disrupted—gone.
