Now reading: Chapter 372: That power from Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory, a Game novel by IvyWoods.

Whether it’s offense, defense, or even raw HP, the Storm Dragon race doesn’t fall short in any category. Honestly, even on their own, they could go toe-to-toe with so of the weaker Tier 14 Mythic Units.

Think Chaos Hydra, Phoenix, Titan—those kinds of heavy hitters.

But what really makes the Storm Dragons shine... is their magic.

You could say they’re evenly matched with the Gold Dragons. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, but there’s no clear winner between the two.

Still, that’s not what caught Ethan’s attention the most.

What really got him excited was one of the Storm Dragon’s racial abilities—Mastery of the Wind.

"This skill... now this is interesting."

"It can actually increase or decrease wind resistance and flow speed. And if you’ve got enough of them, you could either freeze a massive, world-ending storm in place—or whip one up from nothing."

Ethan’s eyes lit up.

A grin spread across his face, the kind that only shows up when you stumble onto sothing ga-changing.

What did this an?

Well, if you’re out at sea...

And if it really works the way he’s thinking... then this is basically a god-tier ability with insane value.

A total ga-changer.

Why? Simple.

Out on the ocean, most movent depends on warships or battleships. That ans if you can crank up the wind resistance or ss with the wind speed, you can completely wreck your enemy’s sailing conditions. Even if you can’t stop them outright, you can slow them down—by a factor of five, ten, maybe more.

And the best part? Even if the enemy has powerful sea units that can control water, it doesn’t matter.

They still can’t stop the wind.

Out at sea, if you lose your speed advantage, you’re basically a sitting duck.

Your chances of winning? Close to zero.

But even that wasn’t what got Ethan the most hyped.

What really got his blood pumping was this:

Where’s the richest treasure in the ocean? Where are the most valuable resources? The most unexplored, untapped potential?

No question—it’s the Three Forbidden Sea Zones.

And where’s the most dangerous place on the ocean? The place where even Crimson Ultimate-tier heroes could get wiped out?

Yeah. Sa answer. The Three Forbidden Sea Zones.

And one of the deadliest threats in those zones?

Hurricanes.

Massive, apocalyptic storms—nature’s fury unleashed. The kind of storms that could literally erase a Crimson Ultimate hero from existence.

But now?

Now, with the Storm Dragon’s racial ability...

He could control the wind. Control the hurricanes.

If that’s not a god-tier skill, what is?

With this ability—and with the raw power of the Kirin and Sacred Kirin races backing him up at sea—Ethan was seriously starting to consider diving into one of those Forbidden Zones.

Because let’s be real: in terms of raw wealth, those zones blow the Dungeons out of the water. No one’s mined them. No one’s explored them. They’re untouched, pure, and packed with resources.

Gold veins, rare materials, ancient relics—just waiting to be claid.

It’s a goldmine. A fat, juicy steak of opportunity.

And Ethan? He was definitely hungry.

"Cicero, Vaelric—I’m leaving them to you. I’m gonna go get so rest..." Ethan said, finally speaking up, his voice a little tired.

Truth be told, he hadn’t logged off in nearly a year.

He’d been practically living inside the ga.

Sure, with his current strength and physical condition, he could handle it. Otherwise, the system would’ve forced him offline ages ago.

But still... ntal fatigue was starting to creep in.

"Maybe I should just log off and take a proper break..." the thought crossed his mind.

Log off, rest up.

And while he’s at it, maybe scroll through the forums, check out how the war between the Eight Grand Duchies is going.

After all, players from all over the world were scattered across those duchies.

Which ant they were right in the thick of the faction war.

And if anyone had firsthand intel?

It’d be them.

"But if I’m doing the math right, Emily should be back by now, shouldn’t she? Why’s it so quiet? Don’t tell she got stuck in Kazmordûn... or maybe the Argentum Citadel?" Ethan muttered to himself as he prepared to log out. "That shouldn’t be the case though... The Tower faction’s no pushover either."

With a soft whoosh, the world around him blurred and shifted.

A mont later, the familiar—but now slightly foreign—sight of his small room on Earth ca into view.

"Ugh... not gonna lie, after a whole year without logging out, this feels kinda weird," Ethan said with a wry smile as he stood up and stretched, then stepped out of the room.

Right then, a graceful figure just outside seed to catch the sound of movent from his room. She turned her head sharply toward the door.

Click—the door creaked open.

The woman froze for a second.

Then her eyes went wide.

And she let out a delighted scream.

"Oh my God, you’re finally out!"

...

"You’re one to talk..." Ethan replied instinctively, but then he paused, noticing sothing off. His eyes narrowed slightly in surprise. "Wait... you looked for ? But you didn’t wake up?"

"No, no, no!" Emily shook her head quickly, her voice urgent.

She hurried over to him, her footsteps light and quick. But then, as if she were seeing sothing completely alien, she slowed down and began circling him, eyes wide with disbelief. After a few loops, she finally stopped in front of him, staring hard.

Her expression turned strange.

"When you were in the pod," she said slowly, "I couldn’t even get close to you. It was like... there was this terrifying force surrounding you and the pod. I couldn’t handle it. The closer I got, the more unbearable it beca."

Ethan froze.

His eyes flickered, a thoughtful look creeping into his gaze.

A terrifying force?

"Wait a second..."

A sudden realization hit him. He turned to Emily, eyes sharp.

"You’re not talking about... this, are you?"

BOOM!

Before he even finished the sentence, a monstrous wave of energy erupted from deep within him.

The shockwave hit Emily first.

Her heart skipped a beat—then started pounding wildly. Her pupils shrank, her face went pale in an instant.

Her whole body trembled.

She looked like she was about to collapse.

Her knees buckled, her balance gave out, and she nearly crumpled to the floor—if Ethan hadn’t reacted in a flash and caught her just in ti.

And just like that, the terrifying energy vanished.

It had lasted less than a second—barely a single breath.

But the aftershock... the fear it left behind... that lingered.

Emily clung to him, her body still shaking. Her skin was clammy, her breath shallow. The sheer pressure of that force had left her drenched in cold sweat, her hair sticking to her forehead.

That power...

It had made her scalp tingle, every hair on her body stand on end.
