Ethan and Astharel’s conversation wrapped up not long after. Without wasting ti, Ethan took his leave and went off to find Kyros, Elyra, and Seran, the Gem Dragon.
"Kyros, Elyra, Seran," Ethan said straight to the point, "I’m gonna need you three to hold down the fort here for a while. Help Astharel stabilize the situation across the seas."
"It’s an honor, Master!" Kyros replied imdiately, though a slight frown creased his brow. "We’re all more than willing to serve, but... do we have enough manpower? I an, in terms of elite combat strength, we’re covered—Elyra and I can handle that. But when it cos to regular troops, we’re seriously lacking. Right now, we’ve only got a little over a hundred Kirin and Sacred Kirin combined..."
"That’s not nearly enough to cover such a huge territory."
"Don’t worry," Ethan said with a grin. "I ca prepared. I’m leaving you with an extra 100 Sacred Kirin, 500 Kirin, and 300 Gem Dragons. That should be enough, right?"
"Wait—seriously? That’s more than enough!" Kyros’s eyes lit up.
"With that kind of force, even if the Greenwave Empire cos knocking, we’ll be ready. We can win!" he said confidently.
"Glad to hear it." Ethan nodded, satisfied. Then he turned to say his goodbyes.
"Elyra, Kyros, Seran—I’m heading back now. If anything major happens, contact Elynn imdiately. I know you’ve all gotten stronger, but don’t get reckless. Stay safe, alright?"
"Yes, Master!"
"Don’t worry, we’ll be careful!" Elyra added quickly.
"Oh, right... Elyra, this is for you." Ethan suddenly rembered sothing and pulled out the Crown of the Celestial Beast, handing it to her.
"This... this is the Crown of the Celestial Beast?!" Elyra froze for a second, then her face lit up with joy. "This is one of the sacred relics of the unicorn race! Master, where did you even get this? Thank you! With this, my power will increase by at least 30%!"
"Then make good use of it," Ethan said with a smile, not bothering to explain further. With that, he left the sea behind and returned to Erald Castle with Cicero, Seraphina, and Auremax.
Once they were back, Ethan relaxed a bit and pulled out the S-rank fragnt of Order Dragon Asha’s power. He turned to Cicero.
"Cicero, think this’ll be useful to you?"
The mont Cicero laid eyes on it, he froze—his gaze locked onto the fragnt like it was the most precious thing in the world.
After a long pause, he finally nodded hard. "Yes! Master, this S-rank fragnt of Order Dragon Asha’s power—it’s exactly what I need. With this, I might be able to start my racial evolution!"
"Then it’s yours. I’ll be waiting for good news." Ethan handed the fragnt over without hesitation.
"Yes, Master!" Cicero nodded again, this ti with even more determination. Then he turned to Seraphina, his expression serious.
"Seraphina, while I’m undergoing the evolution process, I’m leaving everything—Master’s affairs and the safety of Erald Castle—in your hands."
"Don’t worry! I’ve got this!" Seraphina replied without missing a beat, her face full of confidence.
And she had every reason to be. Her current power level was an impressive 68. Unless a King-tier powerhouse showed up in person, she had nothing to fear.
She had the strength now—and the confidence to match.
"Auremax," Ethan said next, turning to the dragon, "take these to Elynn." He handed over the Cloak of Verdant Prosperity and the Arcane Scrying Scope.
One was a resource-type artifact, the other a war-type artifact—neither of which Ethan had much use for. He rarely fought on the front lines himself, and he definitely wasn’t about to start doing surveillance work. Elynn, on the other hand, could put them to good use.
"Yes, Master," Auremax replied, taking the items and heading out.
Once that was done, Ethan turned to Seraphina with a grin. "Alright, Seraphina—let’s go check out the Divine Colosseum."
"Huh?" Her eyes lit up instantly. "Wait—Master, you’ve gathered all the gold, the six basic resources, and even the Special Resource?"
Ethan nodded. "With the gold you looted, we should be good."
"Plus, I found 100 units of a Level 7 Special Resource—Demonic Heartshard of Wrath. It’s probably the best one we could get our hands on right now."
"A Level 7 Special Resource?!" Seraphina blinked, then practically bounced with excitent. "Master, let’s go! I’ve been waiting for this!"
"Then let’s move." Ethan chuckled, and the two of them set off toward the Divine Colosseum.
Several hours later, they arrived deep underground, standing before the massive structure.
"Seraphina, go on in."
"Got it!" she said eagerly, then shot into the air and dove straight into the Divine Colosseum.
At that mont, the system notification chid in:
Ding!
"Congratulations, player Valkarion. Your Green Dragon, Seraphina, has discovered the Divine Colosseum. Would you like to begin exploration?"
"Begin exploration..."
Ding!
"Unfortunately, your Green Dragon, Seraphina, is already powerful enough. She won’t gain any significant strength from standard exploration here. However, if you’re willing to pay 50 billion gold and 5 million units of the six core resources, she can undergo a power training session that grants 30 Attack and 30 Defense. You’ll also be able to choose a minor enhancent to one specific Law of Magic."
"In addition, if you’re willing to contribute at least 50,000 units of a Tier 5 or higher Special Resource, there’s a chance your Green Dragon, Seraphina, could gain a new innate ability—or even comprehend a new magical Law. Note: The higher the Tier and the greater the quantity of the Special Resource, the higher the success rate."
Seeing this prompt,
Ethan didn’t hesitate. He nodded and said, "I’m in. I’ll pay the 50 billion gold, 5 million of each core resource, and 100 units of the Level 7 Special Resource—Demonic Heartshard of Wrath."
Ding!
"Player Valkarion has confird paynt of 50 billion gold, 5 million units of each core resource, and 100 units of Demonic Heartshard of Wrath. Verifying resources... Ding! Verification complete!"
"Congratulations, Player Valkarion. You’ve unlocked an SSS-tier enhancent from the Divine Colosseum. Please select the Law of Magic you wish to enhance for your Hero Unit, Green Dragon Seraphina."
"A: Venom Law
B: Storm Law
C: Nature’s Edict
D: Draconic Force Law"
Ethan paused for a mont, caught off guard by the options.
He narrowed his eyes, thinking it through. Then he called out toward the Divine Colosseum, where Seraphina was already inside.
"Seraphina! Do you prefer close-range physical combat, long-range magic, or sothing in between?"
Her voice echoed back, clear and full of fire.
"Master, I love battle! Close combat—up close and personal!"
That settled it.
Ethan’s eyes lit up with certainty. "I choose Draconic Force Law!"
Among the four options, Draconic Force Law was clearly the one focused on lee combat. The others—Venom, Storm, and Nature’s Edict—were more hybrid or magic-oriented, more in line with Cicero’s style: a blend of lee and spellcasting.
But for Seraphina?
Draconic Force Law was the perfect fit.
No doubt about it.
