Now reading: Chapter 454: Inferno Devils, huh from Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory, a Game novel by IvyWoods.

To be honest, if it had been any other lord trying to recruit Thaldran and his people, they probably would’ve agreed—maybe not enthusiastically, but they’d have gone along with it.

After all, they were 14-Tier Mythic Ace Units. That kind of power cos with certain privileges.

But Ethan wasn’t about to play it that way.

First off, he didn’t want his forces splitting off into little cliques. Sure, in the early stages it might not seem like a big deal, but as ti went on, once things got more complex, having multiple voices in one team was a recipe for disaster.

One team. One voice. That was non-negotiable.

Second, this was also his way of quietly building up Auremax’s inner circle—strengthening that faction from the inside. Now that he had a clearer understanding of how the unit rewards from missions worked, he knew this wasn’t going to be a one-ti thing.

There’d be more. A lot more.

One after another, new 13-Tier Legendary Ace Units—and even more 14-Tier Mythic Ace Units—would start showing up in his Erald Castle. It was only a matter of ti.

So before that happened, he wanted to help Auremax establish his authority—both through his own strength and the power of those under his command. They had to grow together, side by side.

That was the only way Ethan could hold onto his current position.

"Lord Ethan... I’ll agree to it too," Thaldran finally said, his voice steady. "If we lose this battle, I’ll lead my people to join Auremax’s Gold Dragon Legion. We’ll serve under him."

"Chief..." one of his warriors started to protest, but Thaldran cut him off without hesitation.

"That’s enough. We’re all part of Erald Castle now—we’re on the sa side. And we’re all Gold Dragons. There’s no point in staying divided."

"Being led by soone stronger than us—that’s not a bad thing. But before that happens, Auremax..." Thaldran turned to him, eyes sharp, voice firm. "You’ll have to beat us fair and square. I want to be convinced—completely."

"I’ll show you everything I’ve got in this fight!" Auremax growled, his voice low and thunderous. Then he threw his head back and let out a deafening roar. A terrifying surge of magical energy exploded from his body, swirling around him like a storm. For a mont, there was even a faint glimr—just a trace—of the Sacred Realm...

Sacred Realm?!

Thaldran’s pupils contracted sharply as he saw it. He stared at Auremax, stunned, disbelief flickering in his eyes. As a fellow 14-Tier Mythic Ace Unit, he understood exactly what that ant.

Roars erupted all around them.

The Gold Dragons under Auremax’s command raised their heads and bellowed in unison, their cries shaking the heavens, echoing across the battlefield like thunder.

"Auremax. Thaldran." Ethan’s voice cut through the chaos, calm and commanding. He glanced at each of them in turn. "You both know what to do. I don’t care how it happens—I only care about the result. But there’s one exception..."

He paused, his tone growing heavier.

"In Erald Castle, failure is acceptable. If the gap in strength is too great, you’re allowed to surrender. What I want to see are living warriors—not corpses. Not lost souls. Got it?"

"Thank you for your rcy, my lord," Thaldran said, his voice thick with emotion. Then his expression hardened, and he raised his voice in a fierce battle cry. "My people! Show them your fire! Let them see our strength! This battle—we tear those damn Inferno Devils apart!"

"Tear them apart!"

"Tear them apart!"

"Tear them apart!"

...

The roar of dragons shook the skies, a sound so powerful it made the earth tremble.

"Move out!"

With a grim expression, Thaldran gave a powerful flap of his wings and shot into the sky, heading straight toward the battlefield that had been reported earlier.

"We’re heading out too," Auremax said with a nod, preparing to take flight.

But just then, Ethan’s voice stopped him. "Auremax—be careful. I don’t know why, but I’ve got a bad feeling about this..."

"A bad feeling?" Auremax blinked, caught off guard.

"Keep an eye on their Crimson Ultimate hero. If there’s a King-tier powerhouse hiding in the shadows, waiting to ambush you... things could get ugly real fast. Just don’t rush in blindly. Stay sharp," Ethan warned, his tone low and serious.

"I understand, Master," Auremax replied, nodding firmly. Then, with a mighty beat of his wings, he soared into the sky, his Gold Dragon legion following close behind in a thunderous formation.

"Saebryn, Syl’nakar..." Ethan turned to the two Green Dragons, giving them a small smile. "You two take your clans and follow Seraphina. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?"

"Yes, my lord!"

"We follow your will, my lord!"

This ti, both Saebryn and Syl’nakar responded without the slightest hesitation. Not even a flicker of doubt. In fact, it was clear they didn’t even dare hesitate.

Let’s be honest—Thaldran and Auremax were butting heads because they were equals. Both were 14-Tier Mythic Ace Units. Two tigers can’t share one mountain. A little power struggle between them? Totally expected.

But Saebryn and Syl’nakar? That was a whole different story.

13-Tier Legendary Ace Units versus a Crimson Ultimate Green Dragon Hero?

Co on. Not even close.

They knew their place. Bowing their heads wasn’t shaful—it was smart.

Hell, it wasn’t even humiliating. If anything, it was an honor.

This was Seraphina they were talking about—the Crimson Ultimate Hero of the Green Dragons. For them, she wasn’t just a leader. She was the dream. The pinnacle. The ultimate goal.

"Master, you really want to take them and go off on my own? What about you?" Seraphina asked, frowning. "Shouldn’t I stay and protect you?"

As a Hero Unit, she wasn’t about to leave Ethan unguarded in a potentially dangerous situation.

"Seraphina, listen to ," Ethan said, shaking his head with a sigh. "This is a critical mont. If there’s really so kind of trap waiting for us out there... I need you to be the one to hold the line. You understand?"

"...Alright," she muttered, clearly reluctant. But once Ethan said it like that, she couldn’t argue. She gave a small nod, then turned to Saebryn and Syl’nakar with a cold, commanding glare.

"Follow . And listen up—I don’t have a lot of patience. So I expect you to follow my orders to the letter. If you piss off... you’ll deal with the consequences."

BOOM!

A wave of terrifying pressure exploded from Seraphina’s body, slamming into the two Green Dragons like a tidal wave. Both of them flinched, cold sweat instantly breaking out across their scales.

"Y-Yes, Lady Seraphina! We’ll do exactly as you say!" Saebryn stamred, his earlier bravado completely gone. He was practically groveling now.

So much for that fiery attitude—he was totally cowed.

"Hmph. Let’s go!" Seraphina snorted, then turned and shot into the sky, streaking toward the battlefield like a green cot.

Seeing this, Syl’nakar quickly bowed to Ethan. "My lord, we’ll take our leave!"

"Go," Ethan said with a wave of his hand.

And with that, the massive Green Dragon force took to the skies, following Seraphina into the distance like a vast erald storm.

"Inferno Devils, huh..."

Ethan watched them go, murmuring to himself. His eyes narrowed, a thoughtful look crossing his face—along with a faint, icy glint.

Then—FWOOOSH!

A surge of radiant power burst from his body, forming a pair of massive, gleaming white wings. With a single beat, he launched himself into the sky, vanishing into the sea of clouds above.
