anwhile...

Ethan’s interface was lighting up with a flurry of system notifications.

Ding!

"Congratulations, player Valkarion! Your Hero Unit, Green Dragon Orryn, has reached Level 16!"

Ding!

"Congratulations, player Valkarion! Your Hero Unit, Green Dragon Orryn, has reached Level 17!"

Ding!

"Congratulations, player Valkarion! Your Hero Unit, Green Dragon Seraphina, has reached Level 69!"

Ding!

"Congratulations, player Valkarion! You have leveled up! You are now Level 68!"

...

A few hours later, Green Dragon Orryn’s level finally capped at 47, while Seraphina hit an absolutely jaw-dropping milestone—Level 70. That made her the highest-leveled Crimson Ultimate Hero in all of Erald Castle.

Even Ethan himself, the lord of Erald Castle, had climbed to Level 68.

"She’s already hit Level 70? Well, that’s definitely good news..."

"But I wonder... if Seraphina levels up just once more, hits 71, and ascends to Interdiate Deity status—how much stronger would she actually get?" Ethan mused to himself as he followed the map route toward Axehold Castle.

In the world of Glory Lords X, Crimson Ultimate Heroes—those 13-Tier Legendary Units—are classified as Lesser Deities from Level 55 to 70. From 71 to 80, they beco Interdiate Deities. And from 81 to 95, they ascend to Greater Deities.

Which ant Seraphina was now just one step away from breaking into the Interdiate Deity tier.

Once she hit Level 71, she’d evolve again—this ti into an Interdiate Deity. And considering she was already pushing the racial limit for a B-rank Crimson Ultimate Hero (a staggering 96% Tier efficiency)...

Well...

She might actually stand a chance against Malenthia.

Then again, maybe not.

It was all just speculation at this point. Ethan had no solid data to go on. He couldn’t say for sure how much of a power boost ca with each divine rank-up.

Would it be a massive leap? Or just a minor bump?

No way to tell right now.

So, best not to get his hopes up too high.

The higher the expectations, the harder the fall.

"Whatever. I can’t just dump all the pressure on Seraphina," Ethan muttered to himself. "I’m Level 68 now too. I’ve gotta pull my own weight in this fight."

Not long after...

They arrived at the second castle marked on the route map—Axehold Castle.

But by the ti they got there, the place was already a smoldering ruin.

Looked like Seraphina and the others had completely wrecked it.

"You’re here, Master?" Seraphina flew over to Ethan, her voice soft but steady. "We’ve already taken the castle. We also found the portal, but per your earlier orders, we haven’t entered it yet."

"You’ve done great, Seraphina," Ethan said, shaking his head with a small smile as he reached out and gently patted her head.

"Master, expanding your territory is an honor for the Green Dragon clan," Seraphina replied without hesitation, her eyes gleaming. "But I think the real battle’s about to begin."

"I deliberately let a 12-Tier Venomspike Manticore Hero escape earlier. So unless sothing unexpected happened, Malenthia and her forces should already be on their way here."

"Feeling the pressure?" Ethan asked quietly.

Seraphina blinked, then shook her head firmly. "Master, what are you talking about? I’m a proud warrior of Erald Castle. Fear has no place in . I live for the thrill of battle... especially when the enemy is stronger than . Beating them? That’s the best feeling in the world."

Ethan chuckled softly at her response. "Then how about we take on Malenthia together?" he said, his voice low but resolute.

"No way!"

Ethan had barely finished speaking when Seraphina cut him off without hesitation.

"Master, you’re the lord. You shouldn’t be on the front lines—that’s our job! This battle’s going to be dangerous, and I won’t let you risk your life. Absolutely not."

"But don’t forget," Ethan said with a small smile, "Malenthia’s a lord too."

"..." Seraphina froze for a second, but then shook her head again, even more firmly. "Doesn’t matter. I don’t care. You’re not fighting in this battle. I won’t allow it!"

"Seraphina," Ethan said gently, wrapping an arm around her neck and pulling her into a half-embrace. "Rember what I told you before? You’re family to . All of you are. You’re so of the most important people in my life. I know you’re worried about , but I’m worried about you too. And I don’t want to dump all the pressure on your shoulders alone..."

"There are things I need to take responsibility for—as your lord. You understand that, right?"

"I..." Seraphina’s eyes shimred with emotion, clearly moved, but she still hesitated. "But..."

"No buts," Ethan said with a soft laugh, then turned his gaze toward the portal in the distance, his eyes narrowing. "Looks like... they’re already here."

The mont he said that, Seraphina, Lilith, Balthazar, Kaiin, and Isaryne all tensed up, their expressions darkening as they turned toward the portal.

VMMM!

Suddenly, a blinding surge of spatial energy erupted from the portal. The air trembled as a massive spatial rift tore open before them—one of the largest-scale portals they’d ever seen.

And then, like a swarm of locusts, an overwhelming tide of monstrous figures and chaotic voices poured out from the rift.

"Who dares challenge the great Dungeon King Malenthia?! I’m here now—prepare to be crushed beneath my wrath! ROAR!"

BOOOOOOMMMMM—

A thunderous roar ripped through the sky, shaking the very earth beneath their feet. A terrifying, suffocating pressure exploded outward like a hurricane, slamming down on everyone like a mountain.

Their faces went pale instantly.

"S-So strong..." Orryn muttered, his voice trembling despite himself, eyes wide with shock.

He’d underestimated her. He thought Malenthia couldn’t be that powerful.

But now? Now he realized just how wrong he’d been.

Anyone who could carry the title of Dungeon King... was a monster.

A terrifying, overwhelming monster.

"It’s... it’s her. It’s really her. Lord Ethan, Malenthia’s here!" Lilith’s voice shook with a mix of hatred and deep-rooted fear.

To her, Malenthia wasn’t just an enemy—she was a living nightmare.

And now, standing face-to-face with that nightmare...

There was no way she wasn’t scared.

"Well, well... Lilith. You little traitorous bitch," Malenthia’s voice rang out, cold and venomous as her eyes locked onto Lilith. "So, you’ve finally decided to betray ? Betray your glorious mother?"

Lilith flinched hard, her whole body trembling.

It was instinctual—deep, primal fear rising from the pit of her soul.

But then she clenched her jaw, forcing herself to push through it.

She raised her head, stared straight at Malenthia, and said slowly, "Mother? You don’t deserve that title. I’ve already betrayed you. I’m not yours anymore."

Malenthia’s expression froze for a mont, her face twisting with rage.

"Well, well... I leave you alone for a little while, and now you’ve grown a spine? Impressive. You really are my daughter, aren’t you?" she said with a twisted laugh. "But it’s a sha... because everyone who betrays —dies." Her voice dropped to a chilling whisper, laced with madness.
