Now reading: Chapter 493: Divine Flame Wrath! from Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory, a Game novel by IvyWoods.

Ethan wasn’t about to back down. He twisted his body, channeling every ounce of strength into his wrist, and hurled it forward with everything he had. His strike collided with the enemy’s scythe once again.

BOOM!

Ssssshhhhhh—CRACK!

The impact this ti was even more intense than before. The ground trembled like an earthquake had just hit, shaking violently as chunks of stone rained down all around them. Even the stone pillars nearby crumbled into dust under the force.

Ethan hadn’t expected this bastard to have that kind of power. The sheer force behind the attack left him struggling to keep up. If this kept going, he knew he’d be the one to fall.

He took a quick breath to steady himself, then knocked the scythe aside and leapt backward, putting so distance between them. Without wasting a second, he gathered all his strength into his fist and launched another punch.

This one was clearly stronger than the last—but still not enough to take the guy down.

And the worst part? That freak’s ability was just too damn bizarre. As long as there were living creatures nearby for him to devour, he could keep getting stronger.

Hell, he could even feed on his own n.

...

Ethan locked eyes with the hulking figure in front of him. Just as he was about to gather his strength for another strike, a crisp chi echoed in his mind.

Ding!

"Congratulations! Hero Unit Cicero Drahmoulis under player Valkarion has reached 100% evolution."

Ethan blinked, surprised. He hadn’t expected Cicero to finish evolving this fast.

Whummm— A ripple of space energy shimred nearby, pulsing with imnse power. Monts later, a flood of figures began stepping out from the distortion.

Cicero had definitely changed. His entire body radiated a strange, potent energy now, and behind him marched a variety of units—soldiers, beasts, constructs—all seemingly transford alongside him.

Whatever had happened during the evolution, it had boosted all of them.

Ethan quickly pulled up Cicero’s status panel.

But what he saw only left him more confused.

[Cicero Drahmoulis]

Gender: Male

Level: ?????

Race: ?????

Tier: ?????

...

Divine Rank:

Overall Assessnt: ?????

Evolution Progress: 100%

...

The panel popped up in front of him, but sothing was off. He couldn’t see any of the actual stats.

What the hell? Evolution was complete—so why couldn’t he access the details?

Before he could make sense of it, Ignarok ca charging in again, scythe raised high. His power had doubled—at least—since their last clash.

And now, the space around him seed to be feeding him energy, like so unseen force was tethered to him, pouring strength into his body nonstop.

"Master!"

Cicero rushed over to Ethan, clearly excited, his voice practically buzzing with energy. But just as he opened his mouth to speak, Ethan cut him off with a sharp gesture, pointing straight at Ignarok.

"Not the ti for chit-chat. Kill him—now!"

Cicero’s expression instantly shifted, the excitent vanishing as he snapped into battle mode. In his hands, two blazing orbs of energy flared to life.

"Divine Fla Wrath!"

With a thunderous shout, the orbs erupted, unleashing a torrent of searing, otherworldly fire that surged toward Ignarok like a tidal wave of destruction.

But then—bam!—Ignarok’s body pulsed with a strange, eerie energy. The flas slamd into him... and stopped. Not only did he block the attack, but the fire actually started getting sucked into him, like he was feeding off it.

Ethan’s eyes went wide. What the hell? This guy could absorb enemy attacks too?

He scrambled to pull up Ignarok’s status panel, hoping to get a read on what they were dealing with—but just like Cicero’s, the data was all question marks.

Seriously? Was this bastard so powerful the system couldn’t even analyze him?

anwhile, Cicero had already closed the distance. Even though his fire attack had been absorbed, his physical strength was still off the charts. He slamd a fist into Ignarok’s chest, sending the monster staggering backward. Ethan noticed sothing else too—Ignarok’s health bar was dropping fast.

That’s when it clicked.

"He can absorb magic," Ethan muttered, "but not physical damage."

So that was it. The freak could devour spells and turn them into power, but he couldn’t shrug off a good old-fashioned punch to the face.

"Cicero!" Ethan shouted, charging forward. "Forget the magic—hit him with everything you’ve got, physically!"

Cicero didn’t need to be told twice. He let out a low growl, claws gleaming, and lunged. His fists rained down like a storm, each blow landing with bone-crushing force. One particularly brutal strike snapped half of Ignarok’s arm clean off.

Ethan took the opening and darted around to the side. He grabbed Ignarok’s remaining arm and twisted it hard.

"AAARGH!"

A blood-curdling scream tore from Ignarok’s throat as he unleashed a massive surge of energy in desperation. The raw magical force exploded outward, warping the very air around them. Space itself cracked and twisted under the pressure.

Ethan and Cicero barely managed to dodge, leaping back just in ti to avoid being torn apart.

"You miserable insects!" Ignarok roared, his voice wild with rage. "You really think this is enough to kill ? Pathetic! Let show you the true power of Inferno!"

He raised both arms high, his body radiating pure destruction. Above him, a massive cage of dark energy began to form, swirling with infernal fire and crushing pressure.

"Infernal Bind!"

The energy pulsed outward, forming a colossal prison in midair. Ethan could feel the weight of it from where he stood—if that thing landed on them, they’d be trapped, maybe even vaporized.

He glanced at Cicero. Their eyes t for a split second—and that was all it took.

They both threw a punch at each other, not to fight, but to launch themselves in opposite directions using the recoil. The shockwave from their fists sent them sliding across the battlefield, just outside the range of the falling cage.

BOOM!

The prison slamd into the ground, missing them by inches.

Without wasting a second, they blinked to the sides, flanking Ignarok. In perfect sync, they struck—two fists, pure physical force, slamming into him from both sides.

Ignarok didn’t even have ti to scream. The impact crushed him, his body crumpling under the sheer force of the blows.

He hit the ground hard.
