After analyzing her stats, Ethan froze.

He hadn’t expected this at all.

Velissa was only slightly weaker than Malenthia—and that was saying sothing.

But what really made his blood run cold was the realization that she was just one of the Hero Units under The Dark Sovereign’s command.

"Holy hell... so The Dark Sovereign is that powerful..."

No wonder he hadn’t been able to scan The Dark Sovereign’s data before. Malenthia might’ve been one of the dungeon kings on the third floor, but compared to The Dark Sovereign?

Not even in the sa league.

The sheer power that implied was terrifying.

"Looks like this is gonna be another brutal fight."

Ethan took a deep breath, steadying himself.

He shoved his shock down, locking it away in the back of his mind, and started calculating—fast.

On his side, he had:

Tier 13 Legendary Units:

Green Dragons: 750

Ancient War Trees: 300

Arcane Colossi: 200

Behemoths: 300

Ebonite Colossi: 180

Kirins: 500

Gem Dragons: 300

Tier 14 Mythic Units:

Gold Dragons: 200

Ancient Behemoths: 120

Sacred Kirins: 100

Storm Dragons: 340

That was a hell of a force.

Yeah, Velissa was strong—but there was no way he was going down without a fight.

He wasn’t afraid.

This battle? He could win it.

"Master!"

Seraphina appeared at his side, her voice sharp with fury. "They’ve co right to our doorstep. We can’t let them get away with this insult. We have to wipe them out—every last one of them."

Her thirst for battle was palpable. She was seething with rage at the audacity of their enemies.

They dared to bring the fight here?

They’d pay for that.

And Ethan? He felt exactly the sa.

"Then let’s kill every last one of them right here."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a surge of power erupted from the city.

His forces charged out like a tidal wave, crashing into the armored demon soldiers in a chaotic, brutal lee.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

BOOOOOOMMMMMM——

In an instant, the battlefield exploded into action. Massive armies collided, raw power slamming into raw power, the ground shaking under the force of their clash.

Ssssssshhhhhh!

"Kill them all!"

The enemy didn’t back down.

Not even close.

Each of them radiated a strange, overwhelming magical energy—dark, twisted, and violent. Combined with their heavy armor and the long Cavalier spears they wielded, they were a deadly mix of brute force and arcane destruction.

The mont the two sides clashed, two Kirins at the front were skewered clean through—caught off guard by the sheer ferocity of the enemy’s charge. Their bodies dissolved into nothingness in seconds.

And then, sothing even more disturbing happened.

The energy released from the dying Kirins was absorbed by the armored demon soldiers—feeding them, making them stronger.

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

The battlefield trembled with every step.

"Again with this devouring trait?"

Ethan’s brows furrowed deeply.

Even these armored demon soldiers had it?

That ant nearly every Hero Unit and troop under The Dark Sovereign’s command likely shared this terrifying ability—to absorb the power of fallen enemies and grow stronger.

If this kept up, it wouldn’t matter how many troops he threw at them. Every loss on his side would just feed the enemy, making them stronger and stronger until Erald Castle itself was reduced to rubble.

There was no other way—this battle had to be all or nothing.

No holding back.

Ethan clenched his fists, drawing every ounce of power from within. A massive sphere of energy began to form in front of him, pulsing with blinding light. The sky itself seed to brighten under its glow.

Without hesitation, he hurled the energy sphere straight at Velissa.

But she didn’t even flinch.

A flicker of disdain crossed her eyes as she calmly raised her staff. Dark energy surged around her, swirling and gathering at the tip of the staff like a vortex of shadows.

Vmmm... vmmm... vmmm...

Shhhhhh!

In the blink of an eye, the energy coalesced into a storm of black swords, which rained down from the sky like a deadly hailstorm.

BOOOOOOM!

The two forces collided mid-air, unleashing a shockwave so violent it twisted and cracked the very fabric of space around them.

Ethan staggered back, shielding his face from the blast. The sheer force of the impact was overwhelming—he had to retreat a few steps just to stay on his feet.

But before he could recover, a ripple tore through the air in front of him.

Velissa stepped out of the distortion like a phantom from a nightmare.

"A lowly insect like you dares to defy the will of the great Dark Sovereign?" she sneered, her voice dripping with contempt. "Then let show you what it feels like to be shattered into dust."

She raised her staff and slamd it toward Ethan’s chest.

His eyes widened—he barely had ti to react. He threw a punch forward, eting the blow head-on.

This ti, it wasn’t magic—it was raw, brutal physical force.

Ethan had been leveling up nonstop. His physical strength was leagues above what it used to be. But the mont their attacks collided, he felt it—his bones scread, his muscles tore, pain exploded through his body like he’d been hit by a wrecking ball.

She was stronger. Way stronger.

At least twice his strength, maybe more.

"Master!" Seraphina’s voice rang out, sharp and urgent. In a flash, she was airborne, her leg whipping out in a powerful arc toward Velissa’s staff.

CRACK!

The impact left a jagged fracture right down the middle of the staff.

Velissa’s eyes went wide with horror.

That staff—her staff—had been a gift from The Dark Sovereign himself. It had never been damaged. Not once. And now, here, it had been cracked.

Her body trembled with rage.

Then she scread.

A guttural, furious roar that echoed across the battlefield as dark energy erupted from her like a tidal wave.

"You dare damage the staff bestowed upon by My Sovereign?!"

Her eyes locked onto Seraphina with murderous intensity.

Then, without warning, a tiny, doll-like figure appeared in front of her—so kind of cursed familiar.

Velissa began chanting in a strange, guttural tongue, her voice rising with each word.

"You’re dead, bitch! Curse Detonation!"

The mont she shouted the spell, a wave of black energy surged toward Seraphina, wrapping around her like a living shadow.

The air around her crackled with violent, chaotic energy.

Seraphina’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected an attack this powerful.

With no ti to think, she summoned every ounce of her strength, channeling it outward to form a protective barrier across her skin.

BOOM!

The dark energy detonated in a massive explosion, tearing a hole in the very air around them.

When the smoke cleared, Seraphina was still standing.

But barely.

Her body was scorched along her side, her clothes torn and singed.
