Hearing Ethan’s nonsense, Selene actually believed him. She even couldn’t help but ask, "Valkarion, your organization is called the Draconic Pact, right? But... why have I never heard of it?"
"Even the military doesn’t know about us, so it’s not surprising that you don’t either," Ethan said casually, making things up as he went.
"The military doesn’t even know?" Selene froze for a mont, a little shaken.
The military was the most powerful force in North Arica! If even they were unaware of this organization, yet it still truly existed... then the hidden strength of this so-called Draconic Pact must be terrifying.
That thought left Selene a little distracted.
After exchanging a few more words, she excused herself and left.
First, she needed ti to process everything that had happened today—to calm down.
Second, the Scarlet Queen was about to arrive in Icelight City.
She had to go pick her up.
Once Selene was gone, Emily stayed silent for a mont.
Then, out of nowhere, she jumped three feet into the air, landed right in front of Ethan, planted one hand on her hip, and pointed at him with the other, her face full of mock fury.
"Big bro, you better start talking—now!"
Ethan let out a long sigh and collapsed onto the table, exasperated.
"Great... here we go again..."
Before he could finish, Emily launched into a flurry of punches and kicks, huffing angrily.
"You’re the crazy one! You! Hmph!"
After ssing around for a bit, Emily finally felt so of the tension in her chest ease.
"Alright, spill it. What’s this Draconic Pact thing?"
Taking a deep breath, Emily asked seriously, "Is this the big surprise you ntioned before?"
"Nope. Draconic Pact? I made that up," Ethan admitted.
"You—you what?!" Emily nearly choked on air, glaring at Ethan like she wanted to strangle him. She had believed every word, and now he was telling her it was all nonsense?
Was he ssing with her?!
"Calm down, don’t be so dramatic. You think I wanted to make stuff up? The problem is, if I don’t, no one believes !" Ethan shrugged, then his expression turned serious.
"Alright, listen up and don’t space out. I’m going to explain everything..."
After a brief pause, Ethan dropped the first bombshell.
"Rember that 13-Tier Green Dragon from a while back?"
"Of course I do. Why?" Emily rolled her eyes.
"That Green Dragon... is actually mine," Ethan said slowly.
"...Yours?" Emily blinked, then looked at Ethan like he was an idiot.
"Co on, if you’re gonna lie, at least make it believable."
"Cough, cough, cough!" Ethan nearly choked on his own breath. He stared at Emily, speechless.
"You don’t believe ?"
"Oh, sure, sure, whatever you say," Emily said, rolling her eyes again.
Seeing Ethan’s response, he imdiately summoned Cicero.
The mont Cicero appeared, he let out a series of excited chirps and imdiately pounced on Ethan, nuzzling against him affectionately.
Emily froze. Her mind went blank.
"W-What... what is that?" she stamred.
"This is Cicero—the Green Dragon," Ethan said, hugging Cicero. "Cicero, this is my sister. Show her your battle form, just a little bigger."
"Roar... roar... roar..." Cicero let out a deep, rumbling growl. Then, wagging his tail, he hopped off Ethan and transford into his battle form.
Even though he didn’t go full size, standing at around ten feet tall, it was more than enough for Emily to recognize him.
Gulp.
Emily swallowed hard, her throat dry as she muttered in disbelief, "N-No way... this is really that Green Dragon?!"
"Now do you believe ?" Ethan asked.
"I-I do... but how is this even possible? A 13-Tier unit? You’ve gotta be kidding !" Emily said, still in complete shock, her brain struggling to process reality.
Her entire worldview was crumbling before her eyes.
A 13-Tier unit... did Ethan even understand what that ant?!
The highest-tier units among players worldwide were only at Tier 11! And even those were incredibly rare—so rare you could count them on one hand.
In fact, as far as she knew, there weren’t even any confird Tier 11 units in North Arica!
And above Tier 11 were Tier 12 units.
And above that—Tier 13.
That was a full two tiers higher!
The sheer power of a 13-Tier unit was beyond comprehension.
"Cicero isn’t just a unit—he’s a Unit Hero," Ethan said as he recalled Cicero, dropping yet another bombshell.
Boom!
This ti, Emily literally jumped in shock, her whole body trembling.
Her eyes widened to the size of saucers as she stamred, "U-U-U-Unit... Hero?!"
"And not just one—I have two," Ethan continued, deciding to just lay everything out. "On top of that, I also own two castles in the core region of Sylvanwood."
...
...
Dead silence.
Absolute, suffocating silence.
For a long mont, Emily didn’t move.
Then, suddenly, she raised her hand—
And smacked Ethan’s thigh.
"AHHHH!"
Ethan let out a pained scream, glaring at her. "What the hell?! Why are you hitting ?! Hit yourself!"
"I don’t like pain," Emily said matter-of-factly.
Then, she closed her eyes, took several deep breaths, her chest rising and falling as she tried to calm herself.
Finally, she opened her eyes, staring at Ethan with an eerie intensity.
"...Anything else? Spill it all at once. Or I swear I’ll beat you to death."
The chilling look in Emily’s eyes and the icy tone of her voice sent a shiver down Ethan’s spine. He imdiately dropped his playful attitude. Without wasting another second, he hurriedly gave her a rough rundown of everything about Erald Castle and all that had happened recently.
After listening to Ethan’s explanation, Emily fell into a deep state of existential crisis.
She stood there, completely dumbfounded, for a long, long ti.
Only after what felt like an eternity did she finally turn to Ethan, her expression blank as she muttered, "So, what you’re saying is... right now, in the core region of Sylvanwood, you own two castles, two Crimson Ultimate Green Dragon heroes, an S-rank Epic hero... and a whole army of high-tier units?!"
"...Yeah."
Ethan nodded, then suddenly pulled out a unicorn egg and placed it in front of Emily. "Here, take this."
"What is this?" Emily was still struggling to process everything, her face blank with shock.
"It’s an 11-Tier Unicorn Hero Egg. If nothing goes wrong, it should hatch into an 11-Tier unit hero—most likely an Orange Legendary hero," Ethan explained.
"An... 11-Tier hero egg?"
"An Orange Legendary hero?!"
Gulp.
Emily felt like her entire worldview had just been shattered all over again. But after a brief mont, she did sothing unexpected—she shook her head and refused without hesitation.
"No, I can’t take this!"
"Why not?" Ethan frowned.
"I know you’re doing this for ..." A flicker of emotion flashed through Emily’s eyes, but she still shook her head. "But you can’t just think of this as so virtual item. You have to see it as a real, living being."
She paused for a mont, her gaze sharp as she continued, "Even though it was a system reward, it only appeared because you were strong enough to earn it. If you weren’t, I doubt it would’ve shown up at all."
"In other words, I don’t have the strength to deserve this unicorn hero egg. Even if you force it on , it might not actually be a good thing. Don’t forget—Glory Lords X isn’t just so virtual ga. It’s a real world, just like Earth! The NPC heroes in Glory Lords X have their own thoughts and intelligence. You can’t just force them into things."
Emily’s reasoning might have sounded a little far-fetched, even a bit stubborn,
But she wasn’t entirely wrong.
Glory Lords X was, in fact, a real world—not just a bunch of fake data.
Maybe it was because he had transmigrated here, but even though Ethan said he understood that Glory Lords X was a real world, deep down, he still subconsciously treated it like a ga.
That was a mistake.
Emily’s words had given him a wake-up call.
"And besides..." Emily suddenly grinned and continued, "You’re already short on troops and heroes yourself. Wouldn’t it make way more sense for you to hatch this unicorn hero egg instead?"
"As for ..."
"You really don’t need to worry about !"
Emily’s grin widened, and suddenly, her whole deanor shifted—her excitent bubbling over. "I don’t need a hero, but you can give so troops! Holy crap, if you hand so 11-Tier or 12-Tier units, wouldn’t I be unstoppable?!"
The sudden shift in her attitude left Ethan speechless. He rolled his eyes, exasperated.
"I didn’t bring the Cyclops King or the Wyvern Monarch, but I did bring a couple of unicorns. Want one? Actually, I’ve got two—why don’t I just give you both?" Ethan offered.
"One is more than enough! This is an 11-Tier unit we’re talking about! Just having one ans I can basically do whatever I want in this world. Two would be overkill!" Emily said excitedly. Then, as if suddenly rembering sothing, she added, "Oh, oh, oh! What about 10-Tier Thunderbirds? How many of those do you have? You could totally give a couple more of those."
"Thunderbirds? Let check... I’ve got three. You can have them all."
Without hesitation, Ethan traded Emily one 11-Tier Unicorn and three 10-Tier Thunderbirds.
"Thanks, bro!"
"Thank you, my handso, invincible big brother!" Emily bead, her face lighting up with a sugary-sweet smile.
"Oh, right. Take this too. And this." Ethan suddenly rembered sothing and quickly traded her two more items.
Centaur Battle Axe – Level 1 Strategic Artifact, increases attack by 5 points.
Lizard Shield – Level 1 Strategic Artifact, increases defense by 7 points.
Back when he conquered Blackmire Castle, one of the extra rewards included two Level 1 Strategic Artifacts and one Level 2 Strategic Artifact. The Level 2 one was a Werewolf teor Hamr, which boosted attack by 20 points—he had kept that for himself.
Since the two Level 1 artifacts overlapped with his current gear, they were perfect for Emily.
"What are these? Strategic Artifacts? They directly boost attack and defense stats? That’s insane!" Emily exclaid, eyes wide with excitent.
It was obvious—this was her first ti seeing a Strategic Artifact, maybe even the first ti she’d ever heard of them. Not that it was surprising.
Strategic Artifacts were extrely rare. Even the top ten guilds combined barely had a handful of them, let alone individual players.
Just then, Emily suddenly perked up, practically bouncing with excitent. "This is perfect! I was stressing over my hero quest, but now? With a 10-Tier Thunderbird and an 11-Tier Unicorn? Pfft, this is gonna be a walk in the park!"
