Now reading: Chapter 892: When Fire Remembers What It’s For from Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory, a Game novel by IvyWoods.

Seeing Karnyx’s twisted energy begin to spread across the battlefield like a plague, Ethan’s brows furrowed instinctively.

That power wasn’t just destructive.

It was corruptive—like it was devouring the very structure of energy itself.

But then, in the middle of his rapid analysis, a mory flashed through his mind—

They’d encountered this kind of aura before.

And back then, the only thing that had successfully suppressed it... was fla imbued with divine attributes.

"So that’s it..."

Ethan’s eyes lit up.

In the next instant, he shot into the air, palm outstretched as a brilliant golden fla ignited in his hand.

The fire shimred with intricate light patterns, radiating a clear aura of purification.

Without hesitation, he hurled it forward.

The mont the golden fla collided with the black energy—

Everything changed.

The corrupted energy reacted like oil eting fire—violently and instantly. The spreading tide of corruption reversed course, consud by the fla as it surged backward along the energy trail, racing straight toward Karnyx’s formation.

A shrill crackling filled the air as the corrupted energy began to unravel.

In that mont, the suffocating pressure blanketing the battlefield eased dramatically.

This wasn’t the first ti they’d confird this.

Erald Castle had already encountered this type of energy twice before—and they’d docunted the pattern clearly:

This alien force was extrely vulnerable to high-purity fla with divine properties.

A faint smile tugged at Ethan’s lips.

He turned slightly and gestured to the two figures behind him—Andona and Ataneya.

Both rose into the sky.

In an instant, searing fla energy erupted from their bodies, lighting up the heavens with two distinct frequencies of radiance.

Andona was wreathed in Radiant Fla—golden-white and nearly transparent, like it was forged from pure will. It shimred with holy brilliance, the divine essence of the Angel King flowing through her veins.

Ataneya’s fire, by contrast, was a deep crimson laced with violet, like spiritfire drawn from the heart of the earth. It pulsed with the cunning and pressure of the Shadow Fox bloodline.

Though their elental affinities differed, both flas were Radiant Elentals—each capable of suppressing and purifying corrupted energy at its core.

The mont Karnyx saw them, his pupils contracted sharply.

A chill shot down his spine.

He could feel it—viscerally. Those two flas posed a direct, overwhelming threat to the structure of his own energy core.

He’d believed that only Phoenix Queen Ignara’s undying fla could truly counter him.

But now—

There was more than one threat.

The tempo of the battle in the sky froze.

Karnyx and his forces hesitated, unwilling to advance.

That brief mont when the fire had turned on him—he’d felt it. A death on, almost tangible.

If he charged in recklessly now—

The consequences could be catastrophic.

Ethan took in the entire battlefield at a glance.

He stepped forward slowly, issuing a new command as he deployed tens of thousands more goblins to reinforce Leonis’s flanks.

"Leonis," he said, voice calm and clear. "Focus on Aurelax. If anyone else tries to interfere—"

"I’ll clear the field."

Leonis’s eyes lit up.

That long-lost feeling—absolute control over the battlefield—ignited in his chest like a second heart.

"Understood!"

He spun, locking eyes on Aurelax.

"Aurelax," he roared, voice booming across the sky, "the mont you stepped into this airspace, you signed your own death warrant!"

His battle cry shook the heavens.

Leonis slamd his palms together.

A surge of energy roared to life between them, compressing violently until it ford a massive energy sphere. At its core, a white tiger phantom prowled and roared, its killing intent so sharp it felt like it could tear the sky in half.

Aurelax’s face twisted in panic. He instinctively raised his staff, trying to open another spatial gate.

But—

The spatial runes etched into the staff flickered once... then went completely dark.

The stable spatial circuits had been forcefully severed by the purifying flas saturating the air. The energy link was dead.

"What?!"

His pupils shrank to pinpricks.

And then—impact.

The two forces collided head-on.

The resulting shockwave shredded the surrounding clouds and warped the sky itself. A sharp, splintering crack rang out—

Aurelax’s staff shattered into a thousand pieces.

The blast hurled him backward like a broken kite, his body flung through the air by sheer force.

But Leonis didn’t give him a second to breathe.

He was a war beast unleashed, tearing through the sky in pursuit. His killing force kept building, layer upon layer, each energy strike slamming down like a teor storm.

The sky trembled with every blow.

Each impact ca with a low, ripping groan from the fabric of space.

"Aurelax—wait! Calm down!"

"We’re from the sa Plane World! We’re just serving different masters now!"

"There’s no need to go this far! Maybe in the future—"

Aurelax’s voice cracked with panic.

He could feel it—Leonis’s power was still rising. The killing intent was suffocating, almost tangible. There was no hesitation. No rcy.

If this kept up, he was dead.

But Leonis didn’t answer.

His eyes were cold. Final.

The next barrage hit.

Aurelax’s defenses shattered. The energy tore through him, strike after strike stacking until his body finally gave out—ripped apart into fragnts of energy, scattered like ash across the sky.

Silence fell over the battlefield.

In the distance, Karnyx hovered midair, frozen.

The flas burning around Andona and Ataneya still flickered steadily, their purifying aura spreading like an invisible domain.

To Karnyx, that power was a natural counter.

If he forced a move now—

He might not survive it.

And with Aurelax dead, and the Phoenix Empire’s forces nearly wiped out, he had no frontline left to shield him.

Leonis slowly reined in his aura, then turned and flew straight toward Karnyx.

"I rember you," he said, voice low and cold. "Back in the Phoenix Empire, I sensed that filthy energy on you more than once."

"You set foot here—"

"Don’t expect to leave alive."

His killing intent surged again.

Leonis shot forward, a streak of white light tearing through the sky as he charged straight at his next target.
