Chapter 496: Third Fight of The petition (3)

Several spectators immediately recognized the man. His name was well known throughout the Sky Caravan, his reputation built over years of tournaments and battles.

Wu Fan possessed a certain level of fame within the Caravan. He was not a genius. He was not a prodigy. He did not possess the innate talent that allowed some cultivators to stand out from a young age.

But he had participated in numerous tournaments over the years and built a solid reputation through constant battles. He was an experienced fighter, accustomed to facing opponents of every kind.

An experienced cultivator. Accustomed to fighting. His mere presence radiated confidence.

Wu Fan cast only a brief glance at Kyrian before calmly stepping onto the arena. His eyes swept over the young man, evaluating his posture, his aura, and his cultivation level.

‘Only the fourth stage…’ he thought inwardly, a faint smile curling his lips.

‘Looks like this fight will be simple.’

He sensed no threat ing from Kyrian. The young man appeared calm, yes, but his aura was nothing particularly impressive. Wu Fan had faced opponents far stronger.

In the stands, the conversations continued.

“Wu Fan is strong,” a man shook his head.

“Very strong. He has experience, technique, and power. He’s not an easy opponent for anyone.”

“The gap is simply too great,” another agreed.

“Fourth stage against the seventh… that’s not even a fight, it’s a massacre.”

“Even if he’s Sun Luguo’s disciple…” a woman added, her eyes fixed on Kyrian.

“He’ll probably lose. Master Sun is a blacksmith, not a bat master.”

“What bad luck to run into Wu Fan this early in the petition,” someone shook his head sympathetically.

“He could have faced an easier opponent, and won a few matches before meeting a real challenge.”

Even Sun Luguo heard those ments.

But he merely crossed his arms, his smile unshaken. His eyes remained fixed on Kyrian, and there was not the slightest trace of concern on his face. On the contrary, there was anticipation.

His broad smile did not diminish in the slightest. His eyes gleamed with the certainty of someone who knew something the others did not.

Then a woman’s voice interrupted the speculation.

“Not necessarily.”

Everyone turned around, surprised by the interruption.

A young woman of about eighteen walked between the rows of seats. Her delicate face displayed a smile filled with anticipation, and her eyes shone with knowledge that the others lacked.

She stared directly at Kyrian, as though she could see something the others could not.

“I watched his last two matches,” she said, her voice clear and confident.

Several people leaned forward with curiosity.

“Really?” one man asked.

“How does he fight?”

The young woman answered immediately, without hesitation.

“Terrifying.”

She took a deep breath, as though recalling the scenes in her mind.

“He possesses an incredibly powerful lightning physique. His speed is absurd, and his movements are unpredictable. And the worst part…” She paused dramatically.

“He always seems to know what his opponent is going to do before the opponent even knows.”

“In both fights…” she continued.

“His opponents barely had a chance. Kyrian defeated both of them with ease, without even making an effort.”

“Even against someone three levels above him?” a skeptical man asked.

She nodded without hesitation, her conviction unwavering.

“Yes. I saw it with my own eyes. He didn’t just win—he pletely dominated both fights. There wasn’t a single moment when he seemed to be in danger.”

The smile on her face widened.

“I’d bet on him. I’m certain he’s going to win.”

Some spectators remained skeptical, shaking their heads in disbelief. The gap in cultivation stages was simply too great to ignore.

Others, however, began watching Kyrian with even greater interest. If the young woman was telling the truth, then this fight would be far more interesting than they had expected.

At the center of the arena…

The two petitors had already taken their positions.

Kyrian remained motionless, his violet eyes fixed on his opponent. His body was relaxed, but his mind was active, processing every detail of the surroundings.

Wu Fan stood on the opposite side, his feet firmly planted on the stone platform. His expression was confident, almost carefree.

An elderly judge slowly stepped between them. His robe was gray, and his face was marked by the passage of years. His eyes, however, remained sharp, carefully evaluating both petitors.

His gaze swept over them before he spoke.

“Wu Fan,” he said, recognizing the experienced fighter.

Then he turned to the other side.

“Kyrian.”

He slowly raised his hand, the gesture everyone had been waiting for.

“The match will begin…”

He paused briefly, allowing the tension to build.

“Now.”

At that very instant…

Wu Fan moved.

His right hand flashed with blue light. A longsword appeared in his palm, drawn directly from his storage ring. The blade was slender and elegant, with a bluish hue that seemed to freeze the air around it.

The moment the sword emerged, an intense icy Qi spread throughout the arena.

The temperature dropped instantly. The warmth of the morning air was replaced by a biting cold that made teeth chatter. Crystals of ice began forming across the stone floor, growing like winter flowers.

A thin white layer slowly spread across the entire platform. The petitors’ breaths became visible, small clouds of vapor that quickly dissipated into the freezing air.

“Ice Qi…” someone in the stands murmured.

“He cultivates the Path of Ice.”

“His sword has bee even stronger,” another mented.

“That’s not just superficial ice. It’s true freezing arts.”

The very air seemed to freeze. Even some spectators shivered despite the protection formations.

Kyrian calmly observed that energy.

‘Ice element…’ he thought, his eyes capturing every detail.

‘Interesting.’

He had not yet faced many cultivators who specialized in that element.

He did not attack. He remained standing still, his feet unmoving upon the stone.

He wanted to observe. He needed to keep his Third Mirrored Eye active for as long as possible. Every second of use strengthened its core, consolidated its structure, and refined its connection with the other two dantians.

That was precisely what this battle was for.

Wu Fan smiled faintly, interpreting Kyrian’s stillness as hesitation or fear.

“Scared?” His voice was provocative and confident.

He did not wait for an answer.

His foot exploded against the ground.

‘Boom!’

The stone beneath his feet cracked under the force of his launch. His body shot forward like an arrow, leaving behind nothing but a cloud of frozen dust.

The sword carved a massive arc through the air, its blade gleaming with an intense blue radiance. The icy Qi condensed along its surface, creating a layer of frost that extended beyond the metal itself.

“Triple Freezing Sword Technique!” Wu Fan shouted, his voice echoing throughout the arena.

Three enormous blades of ice tore through the air toward Kyrian. The technique was powerful, generating a wave of cold that seemed capable of freezing everything in its path.

At that very moment…

Kyrian’s two ocular cores began to rotate.

Energy flowed through his eyes like an electric current, activating the hidden power that rested deep within them.

At the same time… his third spiritual core responded.

Lightning Qi immediately surged through all three dantians in an ascending spiral. The energy passed through the Third Mirrored Eye, flowing through its pulsing center… before returning to the rest of his body pletely transformed.

‘BOOOOM!’

The sound of thunder echoed throughout the arena.
