"Costate..."

Coming from the sky, the archmage Shui, who witnessed the scene just now, clearly couldn't believe his eyes.

He very much wanted to rush to rescue Costate imdiately, but the glowing figure in the air standing still was a blatant threat.

In fact,

Shui had known Costate for less than a week.

But this maid, crafted as a magic automaton by Hobs Adler of the Six Council, is a top-tier mysterious creation made using an original text combined with the cutting-edge techniques of nurous schools!

As for its combat capability...

Even Shui himself couldn't boast a hundred percent certainty of defeating Costate, much less achieving it in such a short ti!

Shui and Costate had almost set out from the seaside at the sa ti, returning to [Larchmont].

Though their flying speeds differed,

the ti gap brought about by the distance between them was estimated to be just a few minutes.

So the reality was—

Within just a few minutes, Costate, a holder of an original text and known for excellent combat prowess, had been taken down by this enemy before him?

Shui certainly wouldn't believe such a situation.

But the scene before him was a cold, unfeigned reality.

"You..."

Fueled by anger, archmage Shui naturally intended to confront Ronald in a battle of life and death.

Yet, right as he opened his mouth,

Ronald's visage, previously hidden in the night and flas, had finally been clearly seen by Shui at this distance.

Instantly, the archmage's mood shifted dramatically from before.

After all, the person before him was the young man who had recently sent him a ssage through the crystal ball, only to faint thereafter right there!

At that mont, Shui even felt his desire for revenge for Costate grow cold.

As a mage born in [Larchmont],

he holds his holand in extrely high regard, yet Ronald's appearance made this emphasis beco more nuanced.

Previously during communication via the crystal ball, Ronald had appeared as an unskilled young man in spellcasting, starkly opposed to the man who could defeat Costate in re minutes.

Is it possible—could it be that everything he saw previously was entirely a disguise by the opponent?

Such thoughts led to a serious conjecture thereafter.

With such power, what might Ronald have done in the city of [Larchmont]?

Or, perhaps, what Shui saw through the crystal ball was the reality currently unfolding in [Larchmont]?

Faced with the flood of terrible thoughts in his mind,

the archmage's face grew extrely gloomy, his tone trembling while speaking:

"You... you scoundrel!"

"What's your relationship with that dreadful creature, and why..."

"Hand over your original text to ." As Shui was about to inquire about the situation, Ronald imdiately interrupted him by saying, "I can assure you there's no problem in [Larchmont], and if you don't want to end up like Costate, you better obediently comply."

Ronald knew that the archmage Shui would definitely not agree with him. But choosing to speak this way at this mont was only due to respecting another person's basic principles.

Then the archmage's reaction was just as Ronald expected.

Upon hearing such words urging surrender, archmage Shui's face flushed with anger, emotions rapidly spiraling toward rage.

"You madman, you're insane!"

No more words were needed.

The archmage born in [Larchmont], with a swift movent of his hand, recited a spell almost as fluently as reciting backwards:

"Mother of Ro, delight of gods and n,

Venus, giver of life,

Beneath the silent stars..."

The spell was spoken, and in the next mont, the spell took effect.

The air around Ronald beca as hard as steel, tightly imprisoning him.

Exactly as Il had described.

Archmage Shui possessed the ability to alter the properties of objects, even extending to the air itself.

But the spell's function extended beyond this.

In the core of his opponent's attack, Ronald felt even his lung's air begin to undergo similar change. If not for the [Guardian Angel] defending against this spell that altered object properties externally, he would've likely succumbed instantly as the opponent's ghost.

Such a formidable opponent warranted serious treatnt.

After confirming the opponent's condition, Ronald activated [Human Retreat] once again.

Once realizing the air constraints around his body were gone, he lightly waved his wings, rapidly crossing the sky's distance, and approached the archmage in no ti.

Then, Saint Catherine's Sword was raised high.

The pitch-black holy blade, imbued with sacred fla, descended onto the opponent, seemingly spelling Shui's execution!

"Co, these words found through joyful labor,

You must heed, lest you mistake the white sparks flickering before your eyes as ford by white seeds!"

At that mont,

Archmage Shui's second spell had just concluded.

Sighting Costate's fall into the water, this formidable Caster knew that the enemy before him was exceptionally strong and not an adversary that could be resolved with a single spell. Hence, the mont Ronald was bound, Shui began reciting his second spell's incantation.

This spell's effect was indeed far more dangerous.

Ronald clearly saw the flas on his sword, about to strike the enemy, dissolve into nothingness in the dark sky.

——A spell effect capable of eliminating matter.

——Spreading around Shui!

With his rapid response speed, Ronald swiftly retreated, escaping from the dangerous zone.

He then glanced at the archmage under the night sky.

A few ters of complete darkness surrounded the opponent.

Air, light, and even the blown breeze were all utterly consud and vanished around the Caster.

Until the spell's effect ceased, these elents were replenished from the surroundings, restoring the environnt to normal.

With two consecutive spells, coupled with the demonstration of such spell effects.

Ronald, after a brief reflection, realized the original text the archmage possessed was—

Essence Theory.

A renowned philosophical work.

Ancient Roman thinker Lucretius's core piece, expounding his materialist thought. It inherits the ancient simple materialism's pinnacle—the theory of atomism—and deduces the acclaid notion that nothing can arise from nonexistence, nor can existence beco nonexistence.

This book, Ronald had happened to read during his educational journey.

Considering the content of this original text,

He imdiately realized—the archmage with great prestige during the Dark Age before him was indeed more problematic than the previous Costate!
