The words exchanged in the debate were rather intense.
If things continued at this pace, without a moderator, it could easily turn into a shouting match.
But to Ronald's surprise, the situation didn't escalate in that way.
The young people on Frank's side, despite feeling angered, remained restrained in their words and didn't let their attitude get out of control despite repeated provocations from the other side.
—Though the preparations were a bit rushed.
—Frank's side still did what needed to be done.
Ronald silently observed both sides of the debate.
One side, aware of its weakness, remained restrained; the other side pressed with words, but maintained the appearance of Civilization.
Thus the so-called 'quest for knowledge' continued to unfold.
The most likely outco today would be both sides laying down their arms and smoothing over the developnt of events.
Just as Ronald was making predictions in his mind, the debate among the young people at the front had already concluded.
The debate then reached its core, focusing on Frank and Anthony.
In response to these old-school Casters, the Casters siding with the [Nine Commandnts Secret eting] finally sent out their elder stationed at the center.
"Frank, Anthony, I know what you're still holding onto in your hearts."
"In the past, on this land, Casters revered strength and didn't reject living alongside ordinary people. But the situation is different now, and stronger, more advanced power will lead the people of this land down the correct path."
"Those past…"
As the elder spoke, it was the first ti during the whole discussion that soone interrupted another speaker.
It was the master of the estate, Frank, who displayed a mocking expression:
"So you also know our long-standing tradition?"
"To abandon everything we upheld in the past just because of soone else's power. Snow, don't forget how the original text in your hand ca to be! It was passed down in this order by the leaders of your school, and finally into your hands. It wasn't created by those invaders with their so-called Book of Interpretation!"
Faced with this elder nad Snow, who clearly understood Frank's character, he hit a sensitive spot with Frank straight away.
At this mont, the estate owner found it hard to suppress his fury.
The tone of his questioning was filled with anger, and the Magic Power within him even rippled, making it obvious he was genuinely enraged.
It was at this ti that Anthony reached out and patted Frank on the shoulder.
While awakening him from his rage, he also addressed Snow on the other side:
"Snow, inheriting the past has never been a bad thing. Even if you've embraced that so-called advanced power, without the test of ti, you cannot say it's the right path."
Anthony and Frank responded to the other side from two perspectives.
But as their opponent, Snow didn't care; he even smiled lightly:
"What you're clinging to is simply a system established by the reverence of past power through force. No matter how much you refute, you can't escape the core factor of 'strength'."
At this point, Snow shook his head and suddenly reversed his question:
"Isn't it laughable?"
"Your status was built on force, and now that those who apply the sa rules have co and won, you say you'll never give up, speaking of tradition and the test of ti?"
Snow's counter-question was powerful and resonant, making Anthony and Frank unable to refute imdiately.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Snow locked his gaze on Anthony:
"Anthony, may I put it this way?"
"Your so-called tradition deserves to be eliminated precisely because it has not stood the test of ti!"
Upon hearing this, Anthony's pupils contracted.
But unlike Frank, he did not get angry; instead, he calmly threw the question back:
"You and I are both guests dwelling in ti."
"Now, nothing has reached its end yet. Before the final curtain falls, Snow, your sophistry is aningless."
"Hmph—" Snow raised an eyebrow, signaling danger in his gaze, "You yourself engage in sophistry, yet bla first?"
Anthony maintained his calm and dignified deanor:
"I am rely stating a fact, one that everyone must acknowledge and cannot refute."
"..."
After this point of the debate, there was a brief silence on both sides.
Then, an adjusted Frank began to speak again:
"Snow, didn't you see the conditions on the road when you ca? The old rules have been disrupted, and a frightening future threatening everyone is right before us. Yet at this mont, you are thinking of aiding in such a nefarious endeavor?"
"Think of your teacher, and don't you feel ashad in your heart!"
Snow was unyielding, responding with equal intensity:
"I'm sorry to say, I see only stability!"
"Look next door—those northern old neighbors who upheld the old order, how are they now? They are now mired in the quagmire of war! And us? Under the guidance of the new order, people live in comfort and even ordinary lives are several tis more stable than before."
"In the face of such reality, you ask for my sha?"
"Who belongs in the dustbin of history, Frank, do you not have a clue?"
One thing was quite clear.
That was Snow's deep understanding of Frank's respect for past order and his own heritage.
Whenever the topic touched these areas, and contempt and insult were displayed.
Frank was easily stirred emotionally.
As an observer not involved in the matter, Ronald could even guess—perhaps the decision to attack Frank's estate was made based on this premise.
When resisters move as a group, Frank's weaknesses can be shielded by companions.
But now, without anyone to suppress or protect him, he naturally becos easily unmoored, allowing others to find his weak spot.
At this mont, Frank was agitated.
The elderly man gripped the edge of the table in front of him, his veiny hands looking fearso and nacing:
"Snow, you will not succeed in your despicable and shaful sches!"
"As long as I live one more day, as long as this school's rules remain. This foundation will never be completely destroyed by you!"
Seeing his deanor, a hint of satisfaction flashed in Snow's eyes. He spoke before Anthony could intervene:
"In that case, why not conduct matters according to your rules?"
"I will now represent the [Nine Commandnts Secret eting] and challenge you, the heir of history. If I win, you will withdraw obediently from this land. If I lose, you'll never face those inexplicable troubles. What do you think, Frank?"
Frank responded almost with a roar:
"traitor, do you think I would be afraid?"
