Upon hearing such a reminder, Nicole, being an investigator, reacted swiftly.
She not only instantly grasped the aning behind Ronald's words but also realized that there might be issues with herself ever since their eting, "These guys must have done sothing targeting you, and in their calculations, they've even entangled ?"
Nicole frowned, analyzing the experiences of these few hours, she felt that things were not simple:
"If that's really the case, then it's definitely not sothing that a simple adversarial relationship can lead to."
Ronald nodded solemnly:
"That's right, before coming to this city, Costate and I actually raided a Nine Commandnts eting's island overseas and discovered a lot of significant information there."
"Even the decision by the president of Nine Commandnts eting to leave the capital with all key personnel might be connected to it."
As Ronald finished speaking, Nicole's eyes widened.
In the next mont, she raised both her hands to cover her ears, starting to shout loudly:
"Not listening, not listening, not listening, I don't know anything!"
"Today, I just heard about the whereabouts of the Book of Interpretation, so I planned to raid these guys, thus absolutely no chance of getting mixed up in anything else!"
After shouting this a few tis, Nicole lowered her voice.
The investigator girl, well aware of the harsh reality, then let go of her ears resignedly, accepting the truth, albeit gloomily:
"Forget it, since I heard up to this point, I can't really pretend to know nothing."
"Ronald, tell , what have you thought of, and what's the deal with that island?"
Seeing Nicole adjust her mindset, Ronald spoke again:
"On that island, we, or rather the Nine Commandnts eting discovered the church ruins from the Witch Hunting Era. Involved is the city where the church headquarters was located at that ti—Saint City. Back then, the church mbers, along with the Wizards of Barrier Mountain made a quite similar choice, attempting to create a deity..."
Ronald endeavored to concisely and comprehensively inform Nicole of the news.
The investigator girl listened patiently, her expression changing from resignation to dead calm like a salted fish.
Until all these ssages were delivered.
Nicole pulled a chair over from the lab, sitting cross-legged as she began analyzing the intelligence at hand:
"So the current situation is that both you and the Nine Commandnts eting are aware of the existence of Saint City."
"However, since they are already inland, they set off early to find this city. And knowing your action, they tried to co up with so counterasures to delay your pursuit?"
Nicole's analysis perfectly aligned with Ronald's thoughts.
Ronald nodded approvingly at the investigator girl's reasoning, then continued:
"Given the premise of knowing Saint City's existence, what could delay my pursuit would likely only be their Book of Interpretation."
Nicole jumped up, squatting on the chair, starting to tug at her hair in front of her chest:
"I get the logic, but why am I counted into this calculation as well!"
"I've been conducting my actions secretly, and the Nine Commandnts eting couldn't possibly know about my existence. Even if they did, how could they ensure I would bring you onto the path of the Book of Interpretation?"
Nicole looked rather frantic.
She was extrely unhappy with the possibility of falling into the enemy's calculation, and simultaneously uneasy about affecting Ronald's actions.
After understanding the key, Nicole exploded with strong magic fluctuation.
She directly wrote runes with her fingers, mobilizing her archetype's power to start predicting the relevant possibilities.
Following this, the investigator girl's ever-changing expressions confird the accuracy of Ronald's conjecture.
Through the simplified rune prophetic spell.
Nicole determined that she fell into the Nine Commandnts eting's calculation, and the Book of Interpretation left in the city was clearly the biggest bait to delay them here, hindering the pursuit of those leaving the city!
Ronald and she fell into the trap unwittingly simply because their actions had been predicted in advance by the Nine Commandnts eting using a large-scale prophetic spell at a high cost!
With the gained understanding, Nicole imdiately cursed and complained:
"Damn prophetic spell!"
"Once this is over, I need to craft a rune to counter prophecies; who can live like this otherwise?"
