In that mont, Ronald thought of Lumir.
Back then, this guy had used the "Greed Sin" to lock onto Ronald, and as soon as he sensed Ronald’s approach, he would imdiately find a place to escape, causing Ronald quite a bit of trouble.
If the spell’s effective range were far enough...
Ronald might never have found Lumir’s traces and wouldn’t have been able to assemble the "Divine Cody" or experience everything that followed.
"The thing that troubled this guy back then is now, in turn, troubling ."
Ronald’s expression was subtle.
This spell’s flaw was ever-present, and even inheriting it from the enemy to himself was quite moving.
His lips curled slightly into a smile because of it.
But hanging high in the air ultimately achieved nothing, only wasted ti.
So Ronald did not continue to linger but descended directly toward the direction of the five-person squad below with Costate.
At this mont, it was deep night.
This team, far from the civilized world, camped within territory dozens of ters from the river, with only one person guarding the campfire at night, while the other four slept and rested.
When Ronald and Costate openly descended from the sky, the man keeping watch jumped up in shock and imdiately pulled a burning stick from the campfire, holding it horizontally in front of him.
"Wake up, everyone wake up!"
"Sothing fell from the sky!"
While shouting for his companions to wake up, this Nightwatchman used the torchlight to clearly see the faces of Ronald and Costate.
—They were human.
Seeing that it was not a beast appearing in the wilderness first brought so relief.
But many more thoughts followed.
Why did this man and woman appear here? Did they co down from the sky? What was their purpose?
Just then, the Nightwatchman heard the sounds of his companions rising behind him.
Slightly emboldened, he courageously began to inquire Ronald and Costate:
"Are you both wizards?"
In the current world, the existence of the mystical side was no longer a secret.
Ronald kindly nodded, speaking in the gentlest tone possible:
"Sorry for bothering you in this late hour."
"But we do indeed have matters to trouble you with, as it’s also—"
"Wait! Are you Mr. Ronald?" Ronald’s reply was suddenly interrupted.
He turned his head and looked behind the Nightwatchman; an unfamiliar man walked out from the tent, eyes tightly fixed on Ronald.
A regular person without mystical background recognized him instantly?
Ronald was sowhat baffled.
He did suspect the man’s identity.
But from the information obtained via the "Divine Cody" spell, this man was indeed not a minion of the "Nine Commandnts," speaking with genuine joy and surprise.
Ronald couldn’t figure it out and could only ask perplexedly:
"We haven’t t before, have we?"
"Ah, it is indeed our first eting." The man swiftly ca forward, enthusiastically shaking Ronald’s hand, "But your na resonates throughout our community."
"The ancient ruins of the Neer, the grand adventure beneath Entrode’s tundra. Such remarkable feats, any explorer with ambition surely rembered the newspaper content from the beginning of the year!"
Oh, so that’s it!
Hearing this, Ronald suddenly understood.
He indeed helped Professor Dawn’s group resolve so issues in "Entrode", even exposing a sche of summoning beings for invasion.
Now the newspapers carried this news to places all over the world.
Ordinary people might have only heard sothing about it, but for explorers, it truly was news they must rember.
"I see."
"That adventure was actually led by Professor Dawn; I rely offered so small help..."
Ronald was amicably exchanging pleasantries, but his voice soon stopped abruptly.
This was an explorer!
Considering Ronald’s own goal here—searching for that ancient holy city.
Such matters fit perfectly with the identity of the man before him?
anwhile, the explorer inquired curiously:
"Mr. Ronald, are you...?"
Hearing this inquiry, Ronald gauged the other party’s mindset and almost imdiately opted for transparency:
"This question may be sowhat presumptuous."
"But I still want to ask, did you co here to find a long-lost city?"
The explorer shook his head in confusion:
"A long-lost city? Sorry, I am not aware of that."
"The reason for organizing a team to delve into this area is that I hope to explore the unexplored depths of the southern continent, simply a routine adventure of exploring the unknown."
"..."
—This man was not lying.
The instant the explorer answered, Ronald obtained the result via the spell.
The other party was an ordinary person without the aid of the spells, totally incapable of hiding any ntal activities from Ronald.
It seed there would be no useful information to gather from this five-person team.
Ronald calmly accepted this outco.
After all, he was rely trying out, not placing hope on these people.
However, just as he was about to bid farewell to the explorers.
A young girl, seemingly just reached adulthood, possibly even not yet of age, walked out, and her gaze imdiately locked onto Ronald.
"A long-lost city?"
"Sir, are you searching for sothing here?"
The girl’s question was very straightforward, even slightly impersonal.
The explorer familiar with Ronald was startled, quickly stepping forward, smiling apologetically as he explained:
"Mr. Ronald, Alane is a guide I’ve hired. Her ancestors have lived on the southern continent for generations, unfamiliar with worldly matters, so I ask for your understanding."
The explorer was cautious, but the girl nad Alane was not appreciative.
She gazed intently at Ronald, then stepped forward, speaking firmly:
"Sir, I advise you to leave here."
"That ancient city harbors evil and terror; no one on this land should enter it."
"Such things would only bring destruction and death!"
Hearing his companion’s words, the explorer beca anxious.
He wasn’t sure how terrifying that lost city was, but he knew the man nad Ronald before him was certainly more dangerous than that thing!
"Alane, don’t do this..."
The explorer barely opened his mouth when Alane glared at him fiercely, continuing harshly:
"Do you think I accepted this adventure for any other reason but accompany you to such a perilous place?"
"If you want to return alive, you better listen to obediently!"
At that mont, Ronald’s serious voice resonated:
"You’re right, I am searching for that city!"
Alane turned her head to look.
This man stared into her eyes, and his gaze lacked any faint-hearted evasion:
"But miss, I assure you, I do not covet that city."
"Because a group with special objectives has set off ahead of , pursuing sothing within. Trust , the situation is highly urgent now!"
