It was a strange ceiling...
Awakening the next morning, Ronald saw a ceiling that differed from his usual one and realized he wasn’t in the comfort of his apartnt bed.
Indeed, he was in a mansion on the outskirts of Greenwich.
Providing security services for the "Ginkgo Leaf Business Alliance" exhibition.
It might seem sowhat inauthentic...
But honestly,
compared to the beds in Mrs. Hudson’s boarding house, the beds in the mansion’s guest room were even more comfortable!
"Haaah—"
Yawning, Ronald rolled over and got out of bed.
He silently apologized to Mrs. Hudson in his mind and then walked over to put on his coat.
Ronald had slept in his clothes the night before.
After all, he wasn’t at ho, and he hadn’t brought any pajamas, perhaps considering the convenience of taking action in case of an ergency, which is why he chose to lie directly on the bed in his shirt to sleep.
And now, the ti was 6:47 am.
Ronald’s work had begun.
Although the exhibition opened at 10 o’clock, Ronald first had to patrol the exhibition site to check the storage status of various materials overnight.
Only after completing this task would he return to the office with an excellent location,
and continue morizing nas for today.
Moreover, if anything new erged in the city, Everton would imdiately send soone to deliver it here.
All of this had to be done before 10 am.
In the early mornings of winter, it was still dark outside at this ti.
Inside Ronald’s guest room, the view outside was only dimly visible.
In the pitch-dark sky, sparse white snowflakes fell with the winter breeze. Although the snow had lessened, it had not completely stopped.
"..."
Thus, Ronald summoned "Divine Cody" in his hand.
"Its na is Styx,
That dark water flowing downwards, reaching the dim and perilous cliff base.
..."
The summoned wisp of darkness once again crept at his feet, quickly squeezing through the gap beneath the door.
At the sa ti, Ronald picked up a lantern next to him and lit it.
Then he pushed the door open and left at a leisurely pace.
Breathing the cold morning air, he wandered alone through the exhibition mansion.
The exhibition site at this ti looked much the sa as a real night, with Ronald checking around with the lantern. Other than so guards who were still working the night shift, the whole mansion was unusually quiet.
And due to the strict managent system, the guards would only nod to him gently as he passed by.
Everything else was as quiet as the winter outside.
Having made his rounds through the exhibition, Ronald spent about half an hour ensuring there were no problems in the mansion last night.
The night guards were all normal, and the protective spells were also entirely intact. Even the docunts that visitors had flipped through yesterday afternoon had been put back in place, thanks to the office work.
His first day at work was, in every sense, going very smoothly.
After this round of checks, Ronald naturally returned upstairs, spread out the booklets in his private office, and began morizing the morning’s visitor nas.
The feeling was as if he was back in his school days,
morizing English vocabulary during morning study, just as tedious and uninteresting.
And glancing at the snowflakes still falling outside,
today’s visitor count was likely not much different from yesterday; there probably wouldn’t be many coming.

The dayti work that followed was much as Ronald had expected.
Throughout the whole day, it remained calm, with no one coming to cause a disturbance at the exhibition.
During his first two days on the job, Ronald could almost be said to have gained a net profit of Everton’s intelligence with very little effort on his part.
It wasn’t until nightfall, as the exhibition prepared to close its doors,
and likewise signified the end of the week’s work,
that a new assignnt presented itself to Ronald.
—— To negotiate with the church.
With two days of business ending, church personnel naturally ca to collect the week’s personnel movent list as well as the corresponding report docunts.
And now, Ronald, as an especially important security personnel,
naturally needed to be present during the docunt transfer.
And then...
Ronald then saw the smiling nun.
The smiling nun, Audrey, was the church representative who had co to receive the docunts today.
Even under such weather conditions, this ecclesiastic had not chosen to ride in a carriage, but like Ronald, had left Belenwich on foot and then resolutely walked to this manor estate in the suburbs.
Observing the nun with her black umbrella at the entrance of the manor, Ronald quietly asked a colleague before she walked into the main building,
"As for the church..."
"Is it usually the nun who cos to collect the materials?"
"Wouldn’t this task seem more suitable for a priest to do?"
Hearing Ronald’s inquiry, the nearby guard simply shook his head, answering with a tone equally inquisitive:
"Who knows what’s going on."
"It’s usually a priest who cos. Today, it’s still snowing, and yet they sent a nun over."
"Clearly, it’s not exactly a desirable task..."
On this end, Ronald received the expected news from the guard beside him.
anwhile, the nun, holding her umbrella, entered the manor with ease.
But upon reaching the crowd, she did not bother with the manor’s clerical workers, instead first giving Ronald an ecclesiastical greeting.
Her smile unwavering, Audrey spoke up,
"Mr. Ronald, we et again."
Seeing her approach, Ronald could only nod in response,
"Yes, indeed."
"It’s been a while, Miss Audrey."
"..."
After exchanging greetings with Ronald,
the nun then turned to the clerk to fetch the docunts.
Under the nearby light of the gate, Audrey quickly scanned the docunts, roughly completing her review of the report files in less than a few minutes.
"No problems, I will take good care of this report."
After confirming everything with the personnel on this end, the nun turned and faced Ronald’s direction.
In the veil of nightfall, she playfully cocked her head to the side.
Struggling to maintain a sowhat adorable smile, she said:
"Mr. Ronald, let us return together."
"If I rember correctly, your residence in Belenwich is on the way, so it’s convenient for us both."
Indeed...
Ronald thought to himself with an internal complaint.
The location of his residence was, of course, known to the church mbers – proven during their visit not long ago.
Now, they deliberately sent soone he knew to deliver the proposal directly to him...
Ronald felt it would be better to accept this invitation.
"In that case..."
"Let’s walk together."
