Facing such an unfavorable situation, Hansen couldn’t help but be about to open his mouth to argue.

After all, he had previously laid out enough misleading clues to conceal the truth.

At this mont, speaking out what he had morized by heart could, at the very least, help clear himself of suspicion.

However, just as he was about to speak,

Hansen saw sothing that made him very anxious, even feeling that things were going from bad to worse.

Currently, Everton was conversing with Ronald; although his main attention was on the man in front of him, during a pause in their conversation, Everton’s peripheral vision in his left eye glanced at Hansen.

That look contained extrely complex emotions.

But overall, it was the expression of a person about to make a decision.

...

What does it an?

Did Everton realize there was a problem with him?

This... This is impossible!

The sense of steadiness that Hansen had just regained was once again thrown into chaos, the frequent changes in the situation were to so extent tornting his mind.

On one hand,

he knew there was nothing wrong with what he had said before.

Everton had only just arrived at the exhibition hall, he hadn’t done anything wrong in this ti, so how could he possibly have realized his betrayal?

On the other hand,

it’s well known that when a person is guilty, they are most prone to paranoid thoughts.

And Hansen, in this mont, was the perfect example of this.

Even though he was certain he hadn’t given himself away, just that fleeting glance from Everton had triggered a severe upheaval in Hansen’s heart.

So...

Should he prepare for battle?

The magic that had just ceased surged through his body again, and Hansen was on the verge of lashing out in anger.

Then, at the sa mont, Everton spoke up again.

With a gaze that was simultaneously there and not, landing on Hansen, he spoke to Ronald in a remarkably calm tone that froze Hansen in fear:

"Mr. Ronald, I’m aware of the current situation now."

"Now, why don’t you go ahead and dispel this powerful magical formation."

"I’d like to talk to you in more detail, maybe the two of us could go to Kevin’s office for a private discussion, and along the way see if we’ve missed any details at the cri scene."

"..."

Watching the Everton in front of him, Ronald was sowhat surprised.

He had naturally also noticed the businessman’s glance a mont before, undoubtedly scrutinizing Hansen.

So in this situation, why would Everton make such a decision?

It made no logical sense.

Thus, Ronald probed in a sowhat indirect manner:

"Mr. Everton, are you sure you want to dispel this dark mist that’s controlling the manor?"

"Of course," Everton imdiately nodded in confirmation, continuing to explain, "The day is almost dawning, and we can’t be certain that nobody would try to go towards Greenwich, possibly passing by our location here."

"If soone were to see the manor like this at that ti, the situation would beco rather tricky."

"Maintaining secrecy is the most important matter for our hidden side."

"..."

Ronald kept his eyes fixed on Everton.

He could see that the businessman seed rather dismissive while saying these words.

Obviously, the man understood the current circumstance.

But he insisted on choosing to leave the hall with him and also to dispel the dark mist surrounding the manor.

Although he did not quite understand, Ronald still nodded:

"If that is the case, then as you wish."

As the words fell, Ronald swung his right hand.

From the black fog enveloping the hall, the entire manor was swiftly invaded as the fog was forcibly pulled into the exhibition hall. The surging black fog spread across everyone’s bodies, stealing their ability to observe their surroundings.

In the face of this aggressive scene, no one dared to move.

They could only stand still, obediently waiting for Ronald to retract the fog.

After approximately two or three breaths,

the people present finally regained their sight.

At this mont, the black fog, once a force of ’violence,’ had been completely withdrawn by Ronald.

With the fog gone, the hall’s normal lighting was finally restored.

Ronald nodded slightly towards Everton at his side, then spoke,

"Alright, it’s taken care of."

The rchant replied seriously,

"Good, let’s head upstairs then."

Next, Everton efficiently ordered the guard to keep watch over the group of ’cri suspects’ tied to their chairs.

He then took the initiative to lead the way, heading up to the second floor with Ronald.

They quickly reached the second floor and looked at the office belonging to Kevin.

Everton pushed open the door with a familiar ease and then invited Ronald,

"Mr. Ronald, let’s rest here for a while."

"On the way out of town, I had already instructed Don to announce the temporary suspension of our exhibition. So, today... no, you don’t need to work tomorrow. You can go straight back to Bermondsey and do whatever you wish."

Ronald nodded,

"I have no problem with that."

Following behind Everton, Ronald watched the rchant take a seat first, then took a seat himself.

At the mont, the two sat in a room where soone had just died, neither showing much concern on their faces.

A few seconds passed before Everton, gazing at the bloodstains on the floor with a sowhat reflective tone, said,

"This is truly regrettable."

"Mr. Kevin has been working for diligently ever since he was hired seven years ago. He has always been conscientious, never having any particularly outrageous errors on the job, and his ability to handle matters has indeed been very trustworthy to ."

"I never thought that today, he would be killed by that guy Hansen in such a way."

At that, Everton let out a long sigh,

"Ah—"

"..."

Sitting not far from him, Ronald heard Everton’s lantations and, after a brief mont of thought, asked,

"Mr. Everton, are you sure the murderer is Hansen?"

"Of course, I am sure." Everton replied with a wry smile and a shake of his head, then took a pack of cigarettes from his coat pocket. He subconsciously pulled one out, intending to have a servant light it for him, then realized the butler wasn’t there.

A trace of regret appeared on his face.

Everton lit a match himself, then took a deep drag,

"Hansen, that guy has short-sighted vision and a penchant for luxury. The unicorn’s horn was indeed a huge temptation for him. I’ve been watching him ever since he entered the venue today."

"If he wasn’t the one, my trusted man would not have shown that expression when we were talking earlier."

At this, Everton let out a cold laugh,

"Heh."

"This guy ultimately chose betrayal, all for a re unicorn’s horn..."

Then, at that instant,

the two in the office heard an angry shout coming from downstairs.

"Ah—"

"Quick, catch him!"
