At the other end of the train carriage, the clergy mber who had charged first

collided head-on with the mysterious man.

The young priest in the front held a razor in each hand, directing all of his body’s strength onto the sharp tips, then, with a slightly slanted arc, he viciously chopped toward the enemy’s head.

The extrely fast speed of the strike, the precise angle of attack, and the fierce, aggressive montum.

From any perspective, it indicated that he was utterly resolved to kill his opponent!

However, facing the priest’s ferocious attack,

the man standing before him simply let his gaze grow slightly heavier.

Without showing the sa cautious attitude he had used when defending against Ronald’s dark mist, he swiftly reached out with one hand and grabbed toward the priest.

Snap—

A white light covered his right hand.

With seemingly effortless skill, he caught the razor the priest had swung at him.

What followed were the man’s actions in one fluid motion.

After successfully grabbing the priest’s weapon, he imdiately yanked downward against the joint in a reverse direction.

Acting on combat instincts, the priest still refused to let go of his weapon.

The next second, he encountered a force he was utterly unable to resist. Driven by the enemy’s simple and brutal strength, the priest’s body involuntarily leaned forward.

—in the blink of an eye.

Seizing the opportunity of the priest’s shifting center of gravity, the man lifted his left hand and smashed his elbow viciously into the priest’s temple.

Bang!

The priest had no chance to dodge!

The first priest to attack was imdiately thrown against the train wall. Accompanying the sound of breaking bones, the body that had been full of strength and aggression just monts ago now slumped down limply.

Ronald saw clearly that the priest who had fallen was now breathless.

Just one encounter, and this enemy had instantly taken down a clergy mber!

...

Seeing the level of combat skill possessed by the opponent,

the remaining clergy mbers couldn’t help but freeze in their steps.

It wasn’t that they feared battle.

It was just that their close-combat techniques were simply not on par with each other.

If they were to charge like the priest had before, they would rely be adding a few more bodies to the ground.

Of course, this didn’t an the clergy intended to give up.

Almost at the sa mont the standoff occurred, the nun at the very back of the clergy line watched the man intently, rapidly reciting a well-mastered curse under her breath.

The spell casting was complete in the blink of an eye.

Ronald also shifted his gaze to the man across from him.

However, as the nun finished her incantation, the carriage remained silent.

It was as quiet as if...

her spellcasting had failed?

As it turned out, a professional Caster still had no issues.

The next second, a phenonon that could confirm the church nun’s attack appeared before Ronald’s eyes.

Because across the train carriage,

the man once again shone with white light all over his body, and after lasting for a full two breaths, this light gradually began to fade like twinkling stars.

The nun’s curse was clearly an invisible attack on the enemy, one that was difficult for the naked eye to detect.

Facing this situation, the man targeted by the curse imdiately frowned.

With his extensive knowledge, he realized that the attack was an intangible, insubstantial curse.

Had soone else been the target of the curse, they would have likely already been hit without any awareness of the underhanded trick.

Fortunately, the defensive spell he had activated earlier was of a passive-trigger type.

Otherwise, such hardly noticeable spell attacks were indeed troubleso to deal with.

Just as everything unfolded and he assessed Ronald and the clergy, the man realized the carriage he was in was decelerating.

His gaze penetrated the crowd around Ronald, looking towards the train’s coupling.

He imdiately recognized that his plan to take the train away from Berenwic was dood.

Wanting to leave safely by staying in the carriage had beco impossible.

"Hmph—"

With an expression of dissatisfaction, the man raised his right hand to adjust his slightly loose glasses, then tightly gripped his left wrist, and swung his palm forcefully toward Ronald’s side.

Clack clack clack—

Following his movents, Ronald instantly felt the floor beneath his feet begin to rise.

Rembering how the guy had previously used an invisible force to pull the carriage’s bench towards himself, Ronald imdiately understood what the other wanted to do.

So, he promptly warned the surrounding clergy aloud,

"Be careful, he’s trying to control this carriage to attack us!"

—Ronald was not wrong.

Almost the very next second after he uttered the warning, the train’s floor beneath their feet began to bend and bulge upwards.

The passenger trains of this era customarily laid a layer of wooden planks as flooring.

Under the control of the man’s spell, these planks, that were originally laid out properly, started to lunge towards the clergy within the carriage as if they had co to life.

The upward attack left nearly no place to dodge!

"Damn it..."

Seeing that the controlled carriage could no longer be salvaged,

Ronald gathered the surrounding black mist with lightning speed, pressing it on the floor and around, layering several curtain walls around himself and the clergy.

Although the loose black mist could not completely nullify the force of the wooden boards striking them,

at least after a few layers of cushioning, the boards didn’t pack as much punch as they initially did.

Smack smack smack—

The dense sound of striking echoed all around in the mist.

Aside from Ronald actively fending off these boards, the professionally trained clergy were also simultaneously engaged in this task.

A few seconds later, the enemy’s spell effect ended, and there were no more boards under his control.

Ronald imdiately dispersed his black fog again into the surroundings,

restoring everyone’s normal field of vision—at that mont, everything in the carriage beca blatantly clear.

—The scene was extrely ghastly,

in the blink of an eye.

With the middle of the train carriage as a boundary.

The carriage, which had been relatively tidy just monts ago, was now utterly wrecked from the attack, with hardly an intact spot in sight,

and what drew more attention was the young man standing at the end of the train.

Facing an enemy outnumbering his own, the guy didn’t intend to chase after the victory.

While Ronald and the others defended against the wooden planks, he had already made his way to the rear of the train,

ready to jump off and escape from this carriage!

Right before jumping off the train, the guy took a deep look back at Ronald,

as if to engrave Ronald’s features in his mory.

Unfortunately...

Reality and plans never align perfectly.

This was also true for the man.

Just as he prepared to leave, a blue arc of light instantaneously slashed down from the rear of the carriage, targeting the center of the man’s body, directly cleaving nearly one fifth of the train’s tail end in half!

—The Church’s Inspector nun.

—Audrey was back!
