Now reading: Chapter 371 - 370: Subtle Fluctuations from Mystic Overlord: Reading Gives Strength, a Fantasy novel by Lost Solar Sail.

The rchant Guild’s records included both professional details and hastily scribbled ergency notes.

However, no matter how one looked at it, the information provided could only attest to the victims’ "accidents," and it was of no help at all.

Mystical issues couldn’t be addressed with re conjecture...

Thinking this, Ronald began to manipulate Magic Power with subtle changes. Aside from the most common arcane detection thods, Ronald had also learned so unorthodox techniques in the "Scroll Study Society."

Now it was ti to test these skills.

As the Magic Power flowed, a pattern used by savage tribal rituals began to spread over the surfaces of the bodies.

Ronald could clearly see his own Magic Fluctuations spreading across the bodies, with faint black glimrs of light moving fleetingly within.

In just a matter of seconds, the fluctuations completely covered the three bodies.

Connecting to his own Magic Power, Ronald, with the aid of this special technique, finally found a trace – the only one there was.

It was a barely there, constantly shifting residual fluctuation.

The weak fluctuation had almost completely vanished, with Ronald barely capturing a lingering essence.

What concerned Ronald more,

was that what was left in the fluctuation wasn’t Magic Power but sothing akin to the effect of being influenced by a Spell.

...

Ronald imdiately had a thought.

Perhaps the Spell wasn’t erasing its traces of Magic Power completely.

Instead, it was causing an influence by interfering with sothing else, launching these fatal attacks without any direct involvent.

If Ronald’s guess was right,

then inside the Adler family’s mansion, there may well exist a monster beyond imagination...

Pondering this, Ronald couldn’t help shaking his head:

"What on earth is in that house?"

Clap clap clap—

"Where are the bodies? In this warehouse?"

"Yes, Mr. Ronald is inside conducting the examination."

"I see..."

Outside the warehouse, the sound of boots approaching from a distance suddenly erged.

This was followed by the voices of a guard and a man in conversation.

Upon hearing this dialogue, Ronald’s face took on a subtle expression.

Without a word, he turned to look at the entrance of the warehouse. In the span of just a few breaths, Spencer, dressed in formal wear, walked in with another investigator.

This elite investigator had once been ordered to aid in Berenwic.

Thereafter he also had contact with Ronald in Springs.

Now, in such an abrupt manner, he appeared once again before Ronald!

...

"Spencer?"

"Ronald?"

eting under such unexpected circumstances, the two who had encountered each other more than once both paused, taken aback.

After a mont’s hesitation, Spencer, prioritizing work, was the first to speak:

"Ronald, you probably know why we’ve co."

"I’ll examine the bodies first, and you fill in my colleague on the specifics."

Ronald nodded in agreent.

The two were fairly acquainted, and their status at the Investigation Bureau demanded mutual respect.

But in these circumstances, Ronald completely agreed with Spencer’s arrangent.

"Alright."

Observing Ronald’s deanor, Spencer briskly walked over to the corpse and ’whooshed’ his wand into it.

As he began examining the three bodies.

Another investigator approached Ronald with a serious expression:

"Mr. Ronald, my na is Rob, and as you can see, I am also an investigator. I’d like to discuss with you so questions about this recent attack."

Ronald sized up the man before him.

This was a relatively young investigator, who was earnestly taking out paper and pencil to take notes while questioning him. His manner was entirely businesslike.

Thus, Ronald produced the explanation he had prepared in advance:

"Alright, it started when I commissioned the guild to take an inventory of the property at my hotown."

"Since I planned to settle in Springs for a while, I was also concerned about the affairs at the ancestral ho..."

"..."

"In the end, Mar died right in front of , so I imdiately rushed over."

Ronald provided a very detailed account, telling the investigator everything he knew.

Moreover, after finishing his explanation, he did not forget to add a reminder:

"By the way, regarding the issues with my estate, I’d actually reported them to the investigative bureau in Burenwich."

"The feedback from them was that everything was normal."

"..."

After listening to Ronald’s description, the young investigator shook his head in disappointnt:

"It’s not pleasant to say this,"

"but Mr. Ronald, I don’t think the investigators from Burenwich can be compared to those from Springs. In so of the more challenging cases, they tend to overlook very important clues."

Rob did not hide his disdain for country folks in his remarks.

After a brief exchange with Ronald, he put away his paper and pencil and approached Spencer, who was still inspecting the bodies:

"Mr. Spencer, how is it going?"

"..."

Spencer looked solemn as he pulled his short wand out of a corpse and shook his head at the others:

"There’s absolutely no residual magic power of an aggressive nature."

"If it weren’t for the fact that these three died under such strange circumstances, I would have definitely treated them as accidental deaths."

Rob frowned:

"Does that an we have no clues at all?"

Spencer confird:

"At least with my spell abilities, I can’t find any remaining information."

"..."

Faced with such a result, Rob stepped forward to check as well.

After coming up empty-handed, the young investigator also stepped back with a grave look on his face.

"There’s no residual at all..."

"Logically speaking, shouldn’t there be so considering the victims haven’t been dead for long...?"

Seeing that both professional investigators were having a hard ti,

Ronald stepped forward and spoke:

"Although there’s no magic residual, I actually did find sothing."

"It was a very faint fluctuation remaining..."

As Ronald started describing his discovery, the two investigators just listened quietly without interruption.

And when he finally concluded his introduction.

Spencer was the first to speak:

"Ronald, on what principle did you discover this? Is it a spell exclusive to you?"

"If that’s the case, then I’ll record it according to your situation."

Ronald shook his head frankly:

"Not at all."

"This is a technique I acquired from the ’Book and Scroll Study Group’."
