"Special news?"
Honestly, Ronald had no idea he would et Swift here at the port at this ti.
Two nights ago, after the detective inford Ronald about the Ronald Capon Library, the two hadn't contacted each other near Capon.
No one expected Swift to appear a second ti.
And he started with such an information-packed inquiry.
After getting over his surprise, Ronald couldn't help but ask.
"Swift, did you find sothing extraordinary over at Capon?"
"Haha, how should I put this..." Being questioned by Ronald in this manner, the detective awkwardly scratched his nose.
But the situation at Capon was tense at the mont.
After the initial pleasantries, Swift quickly got serious and said:
"Actually, the first night we t, I noticed the traces of action on you, and it piqued my interest to investigate further."
Ronald murmured:
"At that ti, I had traces of action on ..."
"Your state at the ti, along with the appearance of those two female companions, all indicated that." Swift nodded affirmatively and continued, "Following the clues, I first traced it to the Capon branch of the [Twelve Witches Society], then eavesdropped on their conflict with the [Dawn Spell Society]."
"Then I contacted the [Dawn Spell Society] and confird their issues on Lighthouse Island. With these two leads, I continued my actions in the city and happened to discover the dispute near the library..."
Swift explained his discovery process in detail.
Ronald listened to the detective's words and was surprised to find that even though they hadn't t directly, the other party had clearly grasped all of his actions. Compared to when they were in Berlinwich, Swift hadn't lost any of his skill in gathering information.
"Swift, if I had known you had everything figured out, I wouldn't have needed to wander aimlessly around the city!"
Ronald couldn't help but make a quip.
Swift, however, humbly replied:
"You can't say it like that."
"If you hadn't stirred things up in Capon, I wouldn't have been able to gather so much information. And listen to , there's more to co. I believe this is the real cause of the sea beast's attack on the city..."
What Swift said next was entirely classified information.
According to the detective.
Over the past two days of investigation and deduction, he uncovered crucial information that the [Dawn Spell Society] had been hiding.
About two months ago.
A to suddenly appeared near Capon, and its location was conveniently in the ocean.
For casters of the mystic arts, the importance of a to is well-known. Even a large organization like the [Dawn Spell Society] couldn't escape conventional behavior. Once they discovered the to, they imdiately sealed the information, preparing to claim it for themselves by going into the sea.
Unfortunately, Capon, despite its size, couldn't keep a secret.
The [Twelve Witches Society], another large faction, picked up on the trail and then found the clues leading to the to's appearance.
At first, the two factions, which had coexisted peacefully in Capon for a long ti, were competing in secret, each understanding that whoever got the to first would have the other step aside willingly.
But circumstances changed.
While the factions were vying against each other, an accidental evolution caused a parasitic marine creature to attach itself to a caster in the post-cataclysm ocean.
Thus, a symbiotic life of a human and the parasite erged.
This entity, using its oceanic adaptability, managed to obtain the to before the two factions and then disappeared into the depths of the sea.
Upon hearing this, Ronald couldn't help but ask:
"If that's the case, then it should be over, right?"
"With the current casting abilities in Capon, they hardly possess the capability to chase soone into the deep sea."
Ronald's question ca from the heart.
Earlier, due to the library's request, when he went into the water, he had realized this problem.
However, it now seed there were other aspects he wasn't aware of.
In response to Ronald's inquiry, Swift offered a bitter smile:
"Your idea isn't wrong."
"But that person, after parasitizing, still had a part that was human, so he later found an opportunity to co ashore to visit his family."
Ronald imdiately understood:
"His family has been under surveillance by the [Dawn Spell Society] and the [Twelve Witches Society] all this ti?"
"Exactly." Swift nodded and continued, "Then, to get the to, a pursuit and struggle began near Capon. Although that person tried to escape desperately, he still couldn't evade the pursuit of the [Dawn Spell Society]."
"In the end, that person and the to were transported to an island belonging to the [Dawn Spell Society]. However, during the separation from the to, the [Dawn Spell Society] encountered complications, which were later discovered by the [Twelve Witches Society] through the clues, starting a conflict between the two factions..."
"..."
Listening to Swift's account, Ronald pondered seriously.
Reflecting on his experiences in Capon, he found many aspects that perfectly matched Swift's account.
Following this line of thought and seeing the casters battling the sea beasts in front of him, a natural supposition instantly ford in Ronald's mind:
"Could it be that the parasite and the to had issues later which led to the sea beast attack on the city?"
Once Ronald spoke, Swift's expression turned bitter.
The detective nodded to affirm Ronald's guess, then spoke in a complicated tone:
"Figuring out this matter isn't easy."
"In the end, through various inquiries, even resorting to using Grey's na for so unsavory actions, I finally pieced everything together."
"The [Dawn Spell Society] not only failed to separate the to, but this misstep triggered a violent reaction from the to, leading to an unprecedented blockade of the entire island."
"The situation now is that they don't want to give up the to, so they're still sealing this information. But the stark reality is that the contingency left by the parasite has started to take effect, leading to today's sea beast siege."
"..."
After listening to Swift's explanation.
Ronald turned again to look at the casters defending the city, feeling entirely different inside.
But considering the city's inhabitants, he sighed and asked:
"So, is there any way to handle this situation now?"
"Soone needs to go to that place and completely eradicate the source of everything." Swift responded imdiately, and his eyes t Ronald's with a hint of helplessness, "It's just a sha that I'm not capable of doing it myself, so I had to co find you."
