Although Lul Xun had never t Zhou Tai, the Patriarch Lul specifically painted a portrait of him, instructing Lul Xun and Lul Ji to morize it, as Zhou Tai played a significant role in the Lul Family’s escape from danger.
A drop of kindness should be repaid with a fountain of gratitude. The Lul Family was inherently gentle and deeply valued goodwill among others, and it was Zhou Tai who facilitated the Lul Family’s escape.
Zhou Tai never disclosed this to anyone, but there were no fools in the Lul Family. A little thought about the ti discrepancies made it clear soone had helped delay matters, allowing the Lul Family’s plan to be seamless.
At that ti, the Patriarch Lul confird that Zhou Tai and Jiangh Qin were within Sunx Ce’s Army, both known for their loyalty, naturally prompting Patriarch Lul to have his sons and grandsons recognize them.
Enemies could be forgotten, but benefactors must be rembered. This was the secret to the Lul Family’s enduring legacy. The reason was simple: young people were unpredictable; encountering enemies might provoke chaotic emotions, but eting benefactors, controlled or not, was always beneficial.
Unfortunately, though Patriarch Lul knew his sons and grandsons were intelligent, he hadn’t expected such cleverness. They had deduced the identities of Sunx Ce and Zhou Yu rely from scattered words and subtle signs.
[Should we deal with Sunx Ce and Zhou Yu here?] A cold glint flashed in Lul Xun’s eyes as he glanced down. Though Sunx Ce and Zhou Yu hadn’t killed a mber of the Lul Family Main Line, many acquaintances had died in that Battle of Lujiang.
[No, judging by the city managent troops here, the deploynt density has dramatically reduced. This is a crucial location that would normally have twenty-five units; now it’s down to a fifth...] Lul Xun quickly dismissed this idea; there were too few city managent troops.
"Let’s go, we’ll visit Physician Hua to see what’s wrong with this brave warrior," said Lul Xun, walking with a smile, showing no signs of being unable to control himself in front of enemies.
"That’s right, Physician Hua is in that house," Lu Yu said, sowhat sullenly, pointing with his hand.
Lu Yu disliked Hua Tuo’s place, especially after his first visit when his very healthy self was found to have so ailnts. Hua Tuo then mixed a bowl of dicine with a small spoonful of arsenic, right in front of him...
Despite refusing to drink it, Lu Yu was eventually forced by Jia Xu to swallow it all, regurgitating many small worms afterward, leaving him with a lingering dread of that place, to the extent he avoided it altogether if possible.
"I won’t go in; I’ll just go next door to Brother Qu’s. I didn’t expect him to stay up this late tonight," said Lu Yu, expressing his severe apprehension, deciding instead to bother Qu Qi next door.
"Gongjin, be cautious; these people are all veteran soldiers, absolutely valiant warriors, comparable to my trusted aide." Carrying Zhou Tai, Sunx Ce stared intently at the city managent troops with so heaviness, voice-transmitting. As soone with a military background, he knew these were exceptional, brave soldiers.
"I know," Zhou Yu voice-transmitted back, "I’ve been on the battlefield as well; I can distinguish the fierce warriors. Here, there are actually five units of such soldiers, indicating Liu Xuande values this place highly."
Sunx Ce and Zhou Yu closely followed Lul Xun to knock on Hua Tuo’s door. It took a while before the lights turned on inside, and Ma Zhong murmured, "How odd, Physician Hua is resting so early."
"Bang!" anwhile, after knocking a few tis on the Agricultural Institute’s door, Lu Yu saw an old face sticking out. Instantly, he felt a chill.
Hua Tuo glanced up and down at Lu Yu, promptly closed the door, remarking from inside, "What’s with knocking if you’re not sick?"
"Bang!" Over where Hua Tuo used to live, the door opened, Qu Qi looking at the people in front rubbed his eyes, "Isn’t this soone or other?" He stamred for a while without saying a na, then pointed at Sunx Ce, asking, "Who are you, knocking at my door in the middle of the night, letting people rest or not?"
"Brother Qu, why are you living at Physician Hua’s?" Ma Zhong asked awkwardly, "Aren’t you supposed to live next door?"
"He took my place; how dare I argue with him? He said I was full of ailnts and force-fed a pile of poisonous dicine..." Qu Qi gritted his teeth, reluctantly admitting that after taking those toxins, he felt quite refreshed, though he refused to acknowledge it was due to the dicine!
"Perhaps it’s because, in autumn, many dicinal herbs in Mr. Qu’s place mature..." Lul Xun suddenly felt quite powerless, sighing at the situation of these two living next to each other, "Sorry for disturbing you, Mr. Qu, we just accompanied soone for treatnt."
"Treatnt?" said Qu Qi, wearing only his **, thinking for a mont, "I’ll go with you; that guy is good at treating illnesses, but why are you all back?"
"Master Jia summoned us back, saying there was a need to relocate the administrative center. But Mr. Qu, why didn’t you go to Ye City?" Lul Xun refrained from ntioning Liu Bei, switching the initiator to Jia Xu, sothing Ma Zhong didn’t mind, thus no one noticed.
"I have a lot of experintal fields not yet organized here, how could I leave?" Qu Qi explained to Lul Xun while following him out, not really paying much attention to Sunx Ce or Zhou Yu.
"Oh, no wonder the number of guards here has reduced significantly," Lul Xun explained with a knowing look.
"There are only five units left, but it’ll do. Adding more wouldn’t help; they had to protect the lord and everyone’s families, so they went along," Qu Qi conveyed the information that Lul Xun wanted to know.
Lul Xun couldn’t help feeling a heaviness in his heart. He knew a lot about Sunx Ce’s strength, recognizing him as a top expert of the Inner Qi Manifestation realm. Such skill demanded a comparable expert to contain him, or else a large-scale military encirclent, which was not feasible. At least not within Fenggao’s current military capacity.
If the original city managent troops were present, directly stimulating the Military Spirit Cloud Qi to suppress Sunx Ce’s performance would be very easy. However, now only a sparse few remain, capturing Sunx Ce is a pipe dream!
This opportunity cos but once; if it slips, Sunx Ce’s escape will be facile.
[Damn it, Zhou Yu is indeed formidable, choosing a perfect ti when our internal forces are markedly weak. Lord Xuande’s migration of household mbers provided him an excellent opportunity, no wonder he dared to co alone at this ti!]
Lul Xun felt helpless in his heart—they simply lacked the power to deal with Sunx Ce and Zhou Yu now. Once these two are out the city, there would be no possibility of capture, and Lul Xun didn’t believe Zhou Yu wouldn’t have an escape plan ready. (To be continued.
