Out of nowhere, Xu Shu sensed a latent danger and almost reflexively unleashed all his spiritual capacity, pushing it outward. In the next instant, a streak of light brushed past Xu Shu's face, and although it didn't hit directly, the wind it carried left a slight cut on Xu Shu's cheek.

"It actually missed?" Chouhun looked at Qui Fu in disbelief.

"A top-tier civil official, naturally perceives personal danger, and their spiritual capacity moves at will. To see and to feel is to touch," Huyan Chu said as he watched Qui Fu, who was once again drawing his bow with a darkened face. "Such a person is theoretically impossible to hit with an arrow."

Upon hearing this, Qui Fu silently put away his bow; so innate restrictions are hard to avoid.

Xu Shu was also drenched in cold sweat at this mont, involuntarily releasing a large amount of spiritual capacity. Just a mont ago, he had sensed a life-threatening danger from that arrow.

Roughly estimating the direction from which the arrow ca, Xu Shu took a deep breath, suppressed his fear, and mobilized once more. He understood very well what was more important. Moreover, as long as he was vigilant, the arrow couldn't hit him. This was the confidence of a top-tier civil official.

Once again utilizing his spiritual talent to scan the entire army's formation, he noticed that the breach in the southwest had changed again. As a group of Hu captives charged in from the southwest, the infantry and cavalry had separated. If they continued forward, the Han Army would collide head-on with the Miscellaneous Hun.

Xu Shu decisively changed the drumbeat, and Zang Ba trustingly charged south. In no ti, the cavalry that had suddenly been redirected found themselves in chaos under Zang Ba's attack, making the assault several degrees easier.

However, with the sudden appearance of another large force, the breach in the Miscellaneous Hun's formation closed once more. Although not as tight as before, breaking out beca several degrees more difficult.

Subsequently, Xu Shu repeatedly adjusted, but at most surprised the Hu people for a mont. Soon after, the Hu's impressive numbers would spontaneously close the breach, forcing Xu Shu to find another weakness.

[This won't do, it can't go on like this. The Hu is an army force, not a military formation. A military formation inevitably has variations that can be calculated in advance, but with a chaotic army force like the Hu, any breach can't last long.] Xu Shu's forehead already beaded with sweat. At this rate of change, they'd eventually be surrounded and crushed by the tens of thousands of Hu captives.

[Cut when necessary, it's now!] Xu Shu, having been a ruffian for many years, knew sotis sacrifices must be made to find a better way out. Realizing that the situation could no longer be resolved with minor tricks, he imdiately made up his mind.

With the dull sound of the drumbeat, Zang Ba, as usual, followed Xu Shu's judgnt and charged south. Previously, every beat of Xu Shu's command had been accurate, causing the enemy to be thrown into disarray, allowing Zang Ba to break through multiple formations.

Of course, Zang Ba, not having a high vantage point, couldn't see the entire army's situation. Although they succeeded in breaking through each ti, their position hadn't significantly changed and substantial losses were suffered each ti they slashed the enemy.

While able to slash hundreds of enemy soldiers each ti, Zang Ba's side would also lose dozens to nearly a hundred soldiers with each assault. anwhile, the soldiers' physical strength was waning, diminishing their combat capability.

Each seemingly easy assault, under the resistance of the enemy's huge numbers, inflicted so casualties on Liu Bei's Army. Although every attack seed to yield considerable results, if this continued, they'd eventually be worn out.

This was the precise reason for Xu Shu's decisive decision: they couldn't endure it any longer and had to regroup and break out; otherwise, under such circumstances, there was only one path—winning to the point of the entire army's annihilation!

Zang Ba led his forces with Juu Fu and Zhu Ling guarding the flanks, Huihong and Guo Huai defending the center. Once again, they successfully broke through the southern defence line constructed by the Hu people, only to imdiately collide with a reorganized force of 2,000 Hu long spearn.

Based on previous situations, Xu Shu would typically issue a new command and strategically shift to another area, avoiding this group of Miscellaneous Hun and reopening the situation. However, this ti, what Zang Ba heard was the urgent drumbeat to advance south.

Zang Ba imdiately charged at the spearn opposite, thrusting his long spear directly at their leader, forcing them back. His personal soldiers then surged forward, besieging the long spearn with their swords and shields, fighting fiercely.

In just the ti required for a cup of tea, Zang Ba broke through the long spearn's defence, while Xu Shu also found another roughly aligned breach, imdiately directing Zang Ba to charge in that direction.

Following Xu Shu's command, weaving left and right, he generally led them south, breaking through several lines of defense. However, for the seemingly endless Miscellaneous Hun, the prospect of breaking out remained a distant goal.

On the other side, following the drumbeats, Wei Yan and Guan Ping both showed different expressions. This signified that the Han Army's offensive had been curbed, and it was ti for them to converge and retreat north of the Yan Great Wall.

Nonetheless, whether it was Wei Yan or Guan Ping, the current situation was far from good. On one side, their cavalry's charge was t and halted by a significant number of enemy knights, while on the other, as the vanguard, they were specifically blocked by enemy experts.

"Ding!" Wei Yan staggered back several steps.

Initially, Wei Yan could rely on accumulated montum to fiercely suppress the opposing side, but once that montum was withstood, the two opposing Inner Qi Manifestations launched their attack. Despite Wei Yan's solid foundation and decent strength, he made no progress.

Adding to this, as both sides' cavalry battled, they lost their speed, forced into a static fight. In this scenario, the manpower disadvantage of the Han Army beca apparent. Without speed, each side's strength was reduced to rely a tenth.

A strength of a hundred might require fifteen or so to counterbalance, but a strength of ten might be countered by just a few. Consequently, Wei Yan and Guan Ping's winged cavalry beca even more passive, reaching a point where retreat and reorganization wasn't feasible.

[We must think of a solution; it looks like the Hu people were well-prepared. I wonder if everything's alright on Tanzhi's side…] Wei Yan, blocking the enemy's attack, his eyes reddened slightly. If sothing happened to Guan Ping, what kind of brother would he be?

On the other side, Guan Ping held the Green Dragon Saber in his left hand, while blood dripped from his right arm onto the ground. Amidst the countless Miscellaneous Hun, no one dared to advance.

Guan Ping lowered his head, looking at the Inner Qi Manifestation General he had cleaved along with his horse into two halves. The spearhead of the chain spear embedded into the ground, his expression inexplicably eerie.
